I am late to the party but you can try also imtg. The have a very in depth app for almost everything mtg related with great custumer service and a somewhat large fallowing. you do not have to pay for all the features but the whole thing is about 5$
Here is a quick synopsis of my purchasing of commmander 11 and C13
C11
store A. asked me if i wanted to preorder any of them. I said sure, he says all 5 $100, i say sure.
store B. Did nothing and never bought any C11 from them.
C13.
I ask store A if i can preorder. They don't responsed for 2 1/2 weeks.
Store B. is out of business
Go to store C 40 mins out of town ask if they are doing preoders. They say aren't sure what they are doing for 2 1/2 weeks. Finally last week they say we aren't doing preorders becasue C13 is going to go for sick money.
Three days ago Store A called he apolgized for bad customer service and says he would do all 5 for 175$.
Not sure I if I should take him up on this, or take my chances at Target and Walmart.
take it and run plus he sure does care to have calledyou back after so long.
this might not fly here in the red zone but what about using destructive rivelry to punish enchantment/god weapon users? Keep in mind some already run burning-tree emissary.
One of the most successful players I've ever known didn't own a collection, he just borrowed the most competitive deck he could find a list for, and he wouldn't bother playing a tournament unless he could borrow the exact 75 he wanted. He also kicked back 20% of his winnings to whoever owned the deck he played at any given tournament. People regularly had better EV giving their deck to him than playing it themselves. I remember one 4-month streak when he literally did not fail to top-8 an event, and grossed roughly 3 grand in prize value, usually converting his store credit/packs to cash at a 40%+ loss.
It's not about how much you pay to play the game.
that is it, no good cards no turnament wins. that is the "cost" everyone talks about.
Honestly for me at least it's not about incinerate being that much better, it's that Searing Spear to begin with just worse. Sure in standard it's a marginal difference, but I still felt that one burn spell (Searing Spear) being strictly worse than two other burn spells (bolt and Incinerate) was just a bit of an insult to red (also incinerate would've let me play Chandra incinerate ).
As far as flavor goes Magma Jet is already sort of fire themed. And if we can have a soldier raising magma, then as people have said, we can have soldiers throwing flaming spears. Better name? That's arguable at best. I feel that name is clunky. Better artwork? Ok maybe it is; doesn't mean they couldn't have just given spear a new better art. It's a cheap common so there's no reason to complain? Maybe not to you, but for the rest of us it still means having to actually go get the cards.
The point is that it may not be that big a deal, but there was still no reason for this card to exist. We only just got Spear and it isn't even a good card. Standard playable? Yes, but after that it's worthless. The only way to give it value is to reprint it. If this were maybe three standards later, than sure; functional repring is not a problem. But this is one rotation after. That's just how a lot of us feel. Feel free to disagree, but don't criticize people for expressing that.
The idea of a 3 drop burn spell that fits the Theros theme mechanicswise I feel is justified. We've had that happen with galvanic blast and burst lightning. Ain't no reason they couldn't have tacked on another effect like the devotion cheapening the cost idea that's been thrown around. THAT would've been flavor.
Also,
I believe some day wizards will have run out of all the synonyms of lightning and thunder and will just name the card with numbers like Yu-Gi-Oh something like "Lightning something #50" or simply tell us the truth in the name "obligatory 3dmg spell for limited take 100"
There's only one way to do this. You must tap a land, then tap each land in response to the previous until all the burning earth triggers are on the stack.
Then with these still on the stack, cast revelation in response. Revelation resolves and gains you life then burning earth triggers X times and you lose life.
This situation led to one of the funniest wins I've seen. UWR player at 5 life with a bunch (10 I think, only 1 basic) of land and a revelation (and an empty board). A gruul player across from him down to 2 life, but with several creatures, domri on board along with a burning earth. The UWR player revelates for 6 into a pillar of flame to win the game.
i hope he also drew a quicken otherwise he was indeed very dead since the pillar is a sorcery and can only be played when the stack is empty.(i play red too almost exclusively due to low budget and no time for testing).
i think in this game we are all thinkers it is not the deck but the person that carries the win and the battle starts on the adquisition of resources (cards) not on the table. the deck is your plan and if your plan does not give you an out to a situation its your fault for being unprepared or unaware of your deck and the meta.
on topic, i dislike tragtusk and leaves the battlefield triggers that are all upside.
the creature i remember the most from back in 7th when i started is Jareth, Leonine Titan. I still remember wining with him and Serra's Embrace. Flying giant cat with protection FTW. Also i loved those flavortexts back then.
Because it totally destroyed the value of Emrakul, Hero of Bladehold, Demigod of Revenge, Wurmcoil Engine, Vampire Nocturnus, etc. Jeez.
the problem is that they think the swag they been advertising is enough to make up for the bland pre-release/release promos.
i am still hopping that promo equipment are the reward for completing the quest.
I actually have two cards foil Serra embrace and jareth, leonin titan i won my firsts battles with them both, back in highschool. And i have been a fan of magic ever science.
take it and run plus he sure does care to have calledyou back after so long.
burning-tree emissary.
i agree, however he dies a thusdand deaths vs black which is currently king in std, so maybe he come down.

a dude opened 2 thasa and the satyr PW in his pool he went 0-5:-/

And a good team of equally loaded time wasting friends to test with, can't forget that.

I think we might have a new jitte? nah, still great piece for any format.
