I blame that on 8 years of a moron in office.

to his defense he has 8 great years. . . of excelent comedic material. but this isnt a politic forum so moving on.

So the kind can play jund kudos when i was 13 i still made play mistakes and lost to my own ubris in a daily basis, sometimes still do i refuse to pay 13$ for a land.

I still dont see why all the fuss is about every year before of a mayor rotation we have a deck that is hated because it has the easiest time wining turnaments. Most magic players wont really see competitive magic at PTQ lvl so i dont see how jund beating pro turnaments is an issue. If you want creativity and originality play FNM or EDH with your friends.

I think the issue here is that pros are not tired of playing jund bc if they where they go the LSV way and metagame something else or say "i had it with this Mothe F@#! jund in this mothe F!@# PtQ and assesinate all opp playing jund or bring some of the many decks (hell most of the format revolves around having a 50/50 with jund) that can defeat the hated elf.

Agreed with frychikn and mishima (and others): for years I hated when players compalined that Magic was getting less skill-intensive because I thought it was just sour grapes when they lost to someone they didn't think deserved to win but I have to concede that what I'm seeing now is distressing.
I played aggro for years (like ten years) and I liked figuring out how to beat control decks; I liked taking down the Goliaths of the format (if I could) and I always maintained that aggro requires more skill (especially deck-building skills) than some realized. This year, I've come to the realization that control, aggro and combo decks require a lot of thought to build and play (the skill required for each major archetype varies, of couse) but that midrange in general, while not an auto-pilot style of deck, is very forgiving of misplays and seems to require the least overall concentration of skills.
In short, Jund and things like Naya and Bant, even, just bore me and make me feel that magic is being dumbed down. People like creatures so Wizards makes them better. People don't like Counterspell, pickle locks, Stasis locks, etc., so Wizards Nerfs control and combo as well.
I don't mean to sound like I'm just grumpy; I just feel that the game is becoming sludgy and that skilled players, while still putting up great numbers, are less rewarded for having an edge on teh competition. I wouldn't say skilled players are punished but I think the exceptional abilities of some are not allowed to shine anymore. Level the playing field, make more money, I guess.

While i see your point i have to say that the best deck in the format is usually the one with the easiest time wining. I dont understand why people still refuse to abandon jund like what happend to fae in lorwyn. towards the end pros decided they wanted to try something new and thus moved away. One way to see it is that skill has moved from the playing table to deck choice and metagaming which is what have caused the rise of card prices.

    BloodBraid elf RG
    Creature-elf berserker

    haste, trample, shroud, lifelink

Bloodbraid elf cannot be countered by blue or black

    cascade

    6/6

That would be a card that needs to be banned. Current bloodbraid seems perfectly fine to me.

well if the card was like the one above it wouldn't cascade into Blightlighting or trinax or Malestorm Pulse so if you take out the shroud and trample it would be a decent mythic rare by today standats without being broken. The problem is not the elf but the aligment of stars/poor decision of R&D to allow spells like the ones above to interact with the elf on turn 4.

Dont you dare ban the elf! its the first FNM card i must play in my deck and be a sad panda to see it go now.

    FNM AWESOME REPORT!!!

Hey all. Valakut went 3-1 today losing 2-1 to a boss Naya with an amazing topdeck. And all the wins were 2-0. Before I tell you the valuable things I learned...here's my list.

    Valakut Ramp

Alright here's my 2 cents based on tonight's victory over Vampires (2-0) Jund (2-0) and a Naya deck (2-0)

KHE: AMAZING card. If it;s not working for you it;s because you simply aren't playing it right. KHE is NOT for popping as soon as yo get counters. Keep it until you need it. I found myself sometimes keeping an active KHE for 5 turns before I popped it to kill a Baneslayer and lay six damage. Or you can keep it to activate ANOTHER KHE that everybody claims is a "bad topdeck".

Lavaball Trap: Wins games. Simple as that. Beat Jund because of this, ( I was doing good before it, but it sealed the deal)

Chain Reaction: Meh. Used it once, will definately replace for burst or more lands : )

Windstorm: This card....oh this card. Single handedly won my game against vamps and a casual game agaist WU control taking out
1- all their vamps once nocturnus activated
2 -and Baneslayer and Sphinx respectively

The things I didn't like are
    Chain Reaction MB
MANABARBS!!!! (Boss Naya ruins us with this)

So...solutions to this? Definitely find room for Naturalize in the SB and find a good replacement for Chain Reaction in the MB. I would love some kind of utility spell, like something to gain us life : )

i recommend you run main deck ruinblaster replacing the chain reaction/Comet storm and the harvest. against boss naya i try to burn the early drops then wait till they fetch using the KOTR to lavaball trap the field. also if you can ramp into a 3rd turn Goblin Ruinblaster that will cripple their tempo if they cant draw that extra color or land. i would suggest you try Acidic Slime SB for its verstility.

Maybe at your local FNM. It's still flooding higher level tournament top 8s everywhere...

I agree FNM is diverse but pro tour isnt because the pros go for the kill there are no points for style, unless you are LSV. In a way std is balanced at the corner store, tons of jund hate but imbalanced at PTQ since pros only go for the most consistent decks.

th only thing bad i have in this deck is that i couldnt afford a play set of the 9th pain lands and the rav dual lands but other then that i think its pritty solid. and i was thinking of switching out 2 llanowars and 2 deep shadow for 4 llanowar mentors

    bump

i will say how are the main deck damnation working for you? they seem natural for a groul meta but i will prefer a couple of Bogardan Hellkites. Also i will cut all the vigor mortis instead of the elves of deep shadow. Since you arent running duals extra mana fixing is needed plus the vigor mortis get dredge often and will not add up to svogothos graveyard count. So will recomend replacing the 3 for the mentors or getting some Delirium Skeins main to improve your match agaisnt Dstorm.
