TKS is kinda a funny one, He takes the T3 drop where you want to be playing Blight Herder to ramp for Ulamog... And they do get a card... It could get them a good card. On the plus he survives bolt and abrupt decay, fails to path, but at least we get a land. Hrmmmmm Is it slowing the deck down? (Without adding too much processing value)
Im playing doom blade over go for the throat. Black creatures are non-existent (or they are actively bad).
The fish, tasigur, Bob and rhino all disagree with your assessment that black creatures are actively bad.
While I agree that those cards good and merit removal I would say that Go For the Throat vs. Doom Blade is a meta call. I've taken to running Doom Blade myself, because I don't see that many decks packing scary black creatures anymore (most of the Grixis players have turned to other combinations without black and there's hardly any jund/junk), however, affinity is played heavily in my meta, so Go For the Throat is often blanked in G1, leaving Doom Blade the better option.
I've noticed that several lists have cut 1 Lingering Souls to make room for the new OGW Eldrazi. While I haven't had a chance to test out the new cards I'm skeptical of cutting Lingering Souls, as in my experience no single card has stolen the game as many times as Lingering Souls (supported by one of the pioneers of this deck, who had his win% go from 34% to 70% after adding Lingering Souls). From walling off affinity to dealing with Liliana to just straight out beating my opponent for the win - it has many applications and I'm (almost) never unhappy when I draw into it. I can't see how you'd want to play less than 4.
The 4 creatures listed here are all in our best matchups (They are not good creatures in this context). The matchups are good enough that the change in win rate is not significant. You would be much better vs affinity on the other hand if you make this switch.
I once dropped 1 Lingering Souls, thinking that it is too slow against aggro/burn. However I missed winning with the spirits in grindy matchups so now I cut 1 Oblivion Sower to put the 4th Lingering Souls back. TL;DR: Dont cut Lingering Souls.
I only tutor for ulamog when there are problematic permanents that i need to remove now. We only got 1 ulamog so we don't want to waste it on something unimportant or get it pathed. Often, tutoring for Sower or Herder finishes the game just as fast. I've finished numerous games with Sower getting active Gavony Townships and Raging Ravine.
I don't like 4 Sowers though, 2~3 are good for ramping to Eye and Ulamog mana.
Well. With the ban Auriok Champion shouldn't be as powerful as before, with Twin disappearing and Jund losing is best matchup. Tons of Trons, Eldrazi, Affinity and decks that beat those (hopefully for us burn is one of them) are awaiting us.
Stony Silence is becoming much more powerful (and its price is a strong signal of that), but I don't know which sb cards are good against Eldrazi atm, maybe Crumble to Dust?
We have to evolve a little bit, but we should wait the PT i think.
I feel Genesis Chamber is pretty good vs Eldrazis, but we would need answers to Affinity. I guess the Impact Tremors build can be good again.
For tron and eldrazis, we can try the boom/bust tech with Flagstones
Endless one and Eye of Ugin dont work togheter, right ? It may cost "2 less" but thats irrelevant since the X is still the amount of mana spent to cas it, so if you got for example one temple and one eye, you pay 2 to cast it, its a 2/2, Eye or not. Tell me if i'm wrong
You declare what 'X' is and then pay it, accounting for any cost reductions and/or cost additions as required. Yes it works with Eye of Ugin.
The more detailed way to understand it. You announce casting a spell (I cast Endless One), then make the choices (and I choose X=4), then determine cost (and so it costs 2 after cost reduction), then pay the mana (pay with Temple)
Slightly off topic... Are there any pieces you guys would recommend picking up now before they spike? The ship has probably already on TKS, the SOI lands, and IoK. I'm thinking about just picking up most of the B/x painlands now (specifically Caves of Koilos and Sulfurous Springs). Is there anything else you guys can think of? I know this isn't the pricing thread, but I feel it relevant to people maybe finishing off the deck.
More off topic... but sol lands are referencing Sol Ring. SOI (Shadows Over Innistrad) is still coming soon.
what about to supplement the exile effects of relic of progenitor, instead of the claws theres something like pyxis of pandemonium. its a 1 drop, exiles right away, you might not know what you're returning to graveyard because the cards are face down, but the deck can make a lot of mana and its much in your favour if you use the second ability since you can remove the cards from the other persons pile.
Ive been running 4 relivs 2 pyxis and so far my playtesting have been inconclusive. It does a very good job at exiling and i have never ran out of cards to process. In fact I have almost felt it exiles more than we can process which have caused me to be reluctant to crack it against tron for example. The 7 mana have also been an issue as I usually have been able to play Ulamog the turn before then and won. I think its a nice backup though. The non-cantrip have been missed though. Good thing about it is that it dodges leyline of sanctity in game 2 and 3.
Im gonna test it some more, my current thoughts is that Im gonna reduce it to a one of and add another graveyard hate stick that cantrips.
You can stop activating it once you've got enough things to process
It provides disruption+clock in combo matchups and blocker vs aggro. Most of its value comes from the 4/4 body.

Chord for Eternal Witness -> Chord for Restoration Angel -> Chord for Kiki-Jiki. Shutting that down is a huge plus.
Relic also hits persists (Kitchen Finks, Glen Elendra Archmage)

All is Dust also kills flipped Jace, Liliana, Bogles, Keranos, Blood Moon, Spreading Seas for that matters. Something that Wraths don't hit.
4 Wasteland Stranglers is the key to not lose to merfolk/elves.
