So originally I had Nicol Bolas as m Commander, but removed him since 1Rbu per every turn is expensive especially 1-3/4/5th turn there would be a very minimal chance of having all of those colors immediately at my disposal which brings me to my question. If my Commander has an ability does that automatically start when the game starts or how exactly does it work?
So last night I made my first Commander deck on MTGO. I have not test played this deck yet but I will tonight. When I built my deck I added my commander "Prince of Thralls" but I kept getting an error saying that "I have no Commander" even though POT was in the right error and I do own the card. Does any one know why this is?
I already have an idea for what I want to do. The only concern is that if I have the cards to make it work. Let me ask you this though, lets say i already know what I want as my commander can I use another creature card if I can't find him/her?
So I understand that it is basically "100 card singleton" however I really do not know where to begin My biggest question because this is my first time ever even trying to build a deck of that size what is the typical ratio of lands to creature/spell size? So a typical deck of MTG is 20-22 lands avg. Would a Commander consist of 100 cards and 50 lands?
Also, please help explain what the "commander" is used for and how to play it?
Hey there,
I actually used to have an account with you guys once but the email associated with it I closed down so had to start all the way over again. So here I am.
ultimatly Im trying to go for the "encompassing" ability that is known for without the "Target" text and yet still give the user a new choice of opting to have the ability CIP (coming into play) ability or CIP ability.
My attempted balance is if it comes into play you get a stronger ability but lose the mana option and if you play the you get a lesser ability but gain the mana. Think about it, Hypothetically you have 4 of these cards as non Legend, nonbase lands in your deck youd rule the game. Yes even as a Legend card im guessing players would mainline 4 in a deck which is why I appreciate all of the constructive critisism
what, and what if this card were to have the stipulation of (need M10 spellcheck here lol)
untapping at a certain cost i.e. Cardname can only be untapped if you sacrifice something. Maybe a land? Cardname can only be tapped by paying 1 life for each time you tap it
I already figured these cards were going to be powerful there is not doubt on that, like I said tho it was just a brainstorm. I figured with as powerful as Magic is going now it might be a good idea. What if I were to make it like...
When Cardname comes into play tapped all creatures get -2 -2 for as long as this remains tapped. :symtap::symb:

7/10 because your name reminds me of Abu Dabi which in turn reminds me of Carmina Burmana act IV which bumps previous stement of name to 8.5/10:o:D
