Minamo would actually be pretty great in some decks...
The eldraine castles are usable, though I don't know how many I'd want to double up on...
The ixalan flip-lands would be pretty great, though that's a challenge in its own right.
I can honestly imagine this card being a tapped manalith in many decklists... though the ability to randomly steal utility abilities your opponents are using may randomly be useful.
For me, what makes this pair is that you can use lands exiled in this way... and that you get he +1/+1 counters for said lands.
Also, this duo is surprisingly resilient. Even if they kill Haldan, you can play it later and still have access to fetched cards. Even if they kill Pako, the good boy has haste so you can resume fetching the moment it hits the battlefield again.
Can’t use it aggressively/proactively like the white or green ones, sadly, though I like that it also targets abilities.
Also, I do believe that this can act as a free Counterspell against most other counterspells (redirecting their target to this spell), which is pretty nice tech.
Verge Rangers is indeed nice. While it isn’t actual ramp or search (and some people were probably respecting a repeatable oreskos explorer/white orchid effect), it does add mana consistency in a color that really needs it.
Can someone explain the appeal of Decoy Tactics to me?
From what I can tell, you don't get any benefits from an opponent if you don't (or can't) target a creature they control. If two of your opponents have creatures out, it will likely even out to a Repulse that you don't actively control. If all three opponents have targets, you are likely to get a cost-efficient effect... that you still don't have any control over.
While the best-case scenario of paying 3 at instant speed to draw 3 cards is certainly nice... it doesn't seem worth all the effort.
Thundering Footfalls
Enchantment (R)
Whenever you draw a card, you may reveal it. Whenever you reveal a creature card with power 4 or greater in this way, put a Foreshadow counter on Thundering Footfalls.
Remove 8 Foreshadow Counters from Thundering Footfalls: You may put any number creature cards from your hand onto the battlefield.
I wish sea monsters would get a simic card similar to this to supplement Quest. I love this design btw
How about just blue getting a card that pumps out 8/8 krakens... because that's what we got... at uncommon.
Tayam + Devoted Druid + something that gives the druid 2 toughness = put all permanents in library and graveyard with cmc 3 or less onto the battlefield?
Your first post was an impressive combo to play out your entire deck.
I think you're going to fit right in, Orley. Welcome to the forum.
If someone runs Kelsien in the command zone, 1-toughness creatures are strictly off-limit (playing that mana dork will just give him food to grow the moment he comes out). I kinds of dig that, I think.
Shiny Impetus reminds me a bit of Vow of Lightning... except that the useful ability is replaced by attacking each turn and giving you mana. Not super competative but seems fun enough.
The blade seems pretty fantastic to me as it removes the need to pack in 3+ "swords of X and Y" to ensure that you can get some sort of protection... even if it isn't as encompassing.
I hope that the presence of flawless maneuvers means that we're getting a full cycle of these free tricks. While the fog seems a bit better defensively (as it stops unblocked creatures from smashing your face), the ability to blank removals or throw this down for free before slamming a sweeper is *chef kiss*

Why can't I like this post more than once?

Shared Animosity is a pretty great reprint, I think. One of the first that I've been excited for.
Molten Echoes Is a pretty decent tribal card as well (especially when paired with Mana Echoes)

Will happily run in Nekusar, where my bevy of wheel effects will make for many krakens.
