Yeah my biggest concern with the data from Karsten's article is he programmed it to auto-mull all one land hands, when a land and a faithless looting is often keep-able and if there is a street wraith mixed in it's even better. ...
That is exactly scenario of screenshot above. I drew one land, Wraith, Looting and 1 Hollow One. Drew the other 2 through the cycling of the Wraith and then Looting.... I think a 1-lander that is able to cast Hollow One on turn 1 is a keep.

Frank Karsten has run the numbers on hollow one hits off of our random discard effects, plus it is useful to know that a turn 1 burning inquiry with no hollow ones in hand only has a 10-15% chance of paying off. ...

Of course, those magical turn 1 moments still happen! See screenshot....

Overall, I can't see these cards fitting in to the current aggro build. We take our chances with all the random looting. The deck usually isn't surviving the long game (with exceptions sometimes of course!). I think it's why decks that used to play Call to the Netherworld weren't competitive enough. Assuming we try one of these cards, what would we cut? I can't see cutting any of the looters, or perhaps maybe one, but which one? That leaves our two flex spots, which I think Collective Brutality overall fits much better into our game plan. (I played Jund and exercised all 3 modes to drop 2 Bloodghast into yard, kill a Bob and take a Kolaghan's Command, while draining life. In any event, is running 1 or 2 of those recursion cards worth it?

I don’t buy random discard as a reason not to play cards. We randomly discard everything. Hollow ones. Gurmags. Lands. Bloodghasts...
The random discard is actually one of things I like best about playing the deck. It's like rolling the dice. I used to play Slivers and Frenetic Sliver was my favorite - flip a coin to decide if a Sliver lives or dies!

Blood Moon or No Blood Moon I would like to get views on inclusion or not of Blood Moon in the SB. I have not been using the card, as I feel I would most want it for Valakut and Tron match-ups, but for those I can be successful racing them. I had a crazy idea to play Fulminator Mage to get a creature and deal with the lands, but too slow and not enough to hit multiple lands which is usually necessary against those MUs. Any thoughts? How many play Blood Moon and how many don't?

That’s what I thought. 6-1 with chart a course list. Gives us stubborn denial too...
Desperate rsvings is a good option too
    ...
Thanks for the info. Would you post your list for Blue and thoughts on White splash? Overall, I am working from BR with 2 Faeries and 3 Anglers (no Tasigur). Would be interested to see about white splash as one my my faves is Lingering Souls which is an excellent discard option and provides a bit of width and more fliers for evasion to get in those last points of damage or chump. I have been finding lately that the standard BR deck can just stall especially against go-wide decks.

@ekeinhol, great results! I would think about maybe another Relic, or Striking Slivers or Automaton. Looking forward to seeing how things go with fast slivers at next big event.

On Fast Slivers. I would welcome people's thoughts on success/failures in using Vials. I have gone Timba's route without them and have been happy with the speed in dropping a creature turn 1 instead of the vial. I know you make it up by turn 3, but often with fast slivers I get a lot of 1 drops so Vial seems not as fast. However, the surprise factor with Vial or pump with a Lord to save a sliver from Bolt is always relevant, or to mess up combat math. I also like the creature density - playing 35 creatures is often necessary when opponent packs a lot of removal. Thoughts?

Also, tho I am nor sure - and maybe someone who knows for sure can clarify - but I think Kitesail Freebooter ability is not as good as Tidehollow Sculler. The wording is different. I believe that with Kitesail, if it is destroyed while trigger is on the stack, you don't get to exile opponent card forever like you do with Tidehollow. You only get to look at opponent's hand. I often don't mind when someone Paths my Sculler with trigger on stack as I get to see hand a forever exile a card.....

Updating Some Results on MODO I've been playing fast slivers for the past week on MODO. I have played a total of 12 matches in the Tourney Practice Room as a warm up to enter a League which I hope to do next week. I played 9 matches using the list above in entry #1816, and played 3 Matches by changing the SB to -2 Chalice of the Void and +1Pithing Needle, +1 Grafdigger's Cage. Overall I have gone 9-3, including 2-1 over last 3 matches with different card configuration. I won 19 games over those matches and lost 10 (1 match was a 1-0 victory as the opponent lost first game and then quit). I didnt keep any info on sideboarding or the game action. I beat: Grixis Delver, Abzan, 4-Color Burning Vengeance, Mono-U Spirits, Grixis Control, Jund, Affinity, Mono-U Delver, Burn. I lost to Tron, Grixis Thing in the Ice, The Rock. Overall the deck is a lot of fun and I always felt in the match (except for Thing in the Ice). Overall, I am still not sure about playing the Chalices or the Needle/Cage. I seemed to draw them each match when I needed them (for instance I wasn't missing Chalices my last 3 matches. Thoughts welcome.

Hi. Not sure if this question is geared to processor decks rather than taxes decks. If taxes u may wish to post in that forum. For processors I play the Herder version of the deck, rather than Smasher. I went back to Sculler from Kitesail after some, but not a lot of testng. I am comfortable with the mana base to deal with the WB cmc for Sculler and prefer its ability to also hit creatures. By all means play it and let us know your results!

I feel like Diffusion Sliver is really important in this version of the deck. How do you like the Adaptive Automaton? Also, how do feel about the Chalice of the Void in the side?

I like the Automaton a lot. Having 4 extra lords is important for speed of deck. Of course it is a nonbo with Harmonic Sliver so comes out in those matches. Chalice is mixed. I use it largely for combo decks (Storm, Ad Nauseum, Living End) plus Lantern, Affinity,Bogles, Infect and DS decks. I have used it on the play against burn. I have to admit I often would rather play 2 2-drop slivers against burn than Chalice for 2. But in late game it can stop burn dead as my experience shows they often hold bigger threats for late game (like Boros Charm). Overall I am still keeping it tho tempted to drop for a Pithing Needle and Grafdigger Cage. Sorry for format but posting from my phone.

Been testing Timba's list, with a couple changes,on MODO Tourney Practice with overall positive results. Here is the deck:

I really have been struggling against Tron decks, and man lands in general. Necrotic just doesn't cut it. Wondering about cutting 1 Mutavault for a Ghost Quarter. Maybe add a Pithing Needle to SB. Also thinking of working in a second Dismember for removal. Otherwise agree with those moving away from traditional slivers to fast slivers until we see if Dominaria helps us out. Would like a Fulminator Sliver! Comments welcome...

Next Month is looking kind of exciting... there are three consecutive weekends in nearby (within 3 hours drive of me) cities hosting modern SCG IQ's and they are on Sundays so easily made by someone like me who works every single Saturday.

Super! Will you be playing CoCo or Fast Slivers?

I have been jamming games in MODO Tourney Practice Room with fast slivers (Timba's version) for the past week or so and very happy with it. It is true that I often have to explain the various mechanisms such as flanking, or difference in dealing poison with Virulent Sliver. Some opponents don't ask and then when they burned by Sidewinder they say "Oh now I understand how flanking works!" Overall, deck performs pretty well. Just try to avoid Blood Moon decks, and still struggle with big mana decks. Also combo if I have a slow hand. I am not entirely sold on using 2 Chalice in the SB. Maybe will give ThisisKraben sideboard with the extra Dismember over the Chalice.

I'm thinking of building this deck, but I dont have the budget for Chalices. Is the deck bad without them? I would be substituting main deck ratchet bomb and/or more answers such as warping wail or spatial distortion.
use 4 relic of progenitus like me. I own chalice, but dont use it in this deck. I am very happy without them. I am the only one here. I try both and win more with relic. Try it on x-mage and buy then later if you like chalice
Hi @mtgnorin. What does your deck look like these days?
