Seeing all these cards as of late is really depressing as a fair player. Blue is getting so many toys...and GBx is just...not.

We got Trophy, but it's only used in Rock. GBx doesn't need more removal it needs other things. It's definitely difficult not to be envious of the other fair decks.

I absolutely cannot see Shadow or GBx decks fairing whatsoever from all of this without some big reveals from Horizon. We need something along the lines of Hym, Sylvan Library or cabal...and I sure as hell know that isn't happening. It seems like WOTC keeps thinking, "hey, look, here's more removal for midrange decks, that should solve it all".

The only viable looking midrange deck right now is Rock. GDS is getting hit big time with so many bad matchups and those decks looking even better with Horizon and WAR.

Can't believe we haven't had any modern tournaments since the new Karn arrived. I'm really curious to see how well it does and how the meta will have to adjust.

What worries me is a lot of the higher end players aren't playing Trophy in their lists. BG Rock Is playing 3-4 copies but it seems to be doing less in Jund.

Do you mean done for until a meta shift, or gds looking bad as a whole?

Blast zone is a gross card. It also makes putting down 2 copies of shadow in one turn a blow out.

I've had difficulty playing the fair midrange and shadow decks lately. So much so I bought into izzet Phoenix, as playing fair is getting difficult.

I foresee a ton of tron decks which is making me feel iffy about bgx as a whole.

They still have titans to beat face with so its not quite a beat down.

Hmm, it seems like a mistake not to have a Wurmcoil and O-Stone in the wish board. O-Stone is such a get out of jail card. Wurmcoil for when you REALLY need to stabilize. Ballista is great, too. Keeping those 3 in tact almost makes it as if those 3x KCG were barely taking up room in the deck if your plan is just to just do Tron things. Your deck isn't sacrificing much to be a tool-box deck that does not dilute your main game plan whatsoever.

It's feeling as if 3x Claims are a lock---but TKS seems less useful than the combo hate artifacts.

With the influx of Tron players to appear, Liquidmetal coating seems good for now the meta.

Also, you guys keep referencing Witchbane Orb against Titanshift. Can't they just Valakut all of our threats to death?

Horizons has to be a big fail and Azorius has to be doing awful for an SFM unban. I seriously doubt Abzan would benefit from it, the deck has been irrelevent for 2 years since GDS was the deck to beat. SFM doesn't change it's problems being clunky.

Izzet Phoenix feels like the best thing to be playing in modern right now. It's proactive, can have unfair openers, it can play the control game, it doesn't just fall apart to some axis of hate (except a clock and healthy removal), it's decently consistent due to the abundance of cantrips, and you actually see your hate cards due ripping through the deck.

Wish Tron has been interesting, tutoring for Ballista/O-Stone/Wurm is fun. Bridge feels not right in this deck so far. Lattice is rarely the first thing to tutor for unless I'm playing a deck that has zero interaction. It closes the door, certainly.

It gets harder and harder to play anything that has no proactiveness to it. I won like no FNM's with GBx decks, first night of playing Izzet in paper and I stomp on people (except that GB player that ended up going 2-2). Doing 10 damage to a Humans on turn 2 and the player knowing the game was already over was dumb. It got no attention at the Mythic Championship but it did fantastic in the constructed side of things.

The new set is fantastic...for Tron, along with some fun blue card stuff. Curious to see if Horizon helps out fair GBx decks. Shadow is still great deck but a horrible meta choice for the time being.

Haha, oh, Wish Tron. Some Jund players thought it was going to make a comeback.

That being said, Wish Tron looks fun, I would need the 2x KCG and the sideboard wish cards.

Also, Izzet Phoenix continues to be one of the best things to be doing right now. Humans still looking strong as hell, too.

I really don't think it's acceptable for a deck to win because turn 1 you didn't have a thoughtseize or counter.

I'm not very interested if the deck becomes tier 1 or not, just kill it, there is absolutely nothing for modern to gain from such horrible, feel bad games like that.

Three of those jund players were top calibur players in the pro scene. Think the jund results are skewed

Very nice. Theres so little sideboard info on this deck

Jund shadow feels dangerous to play due to dredge and Phoenix hate in this meta

It's weird to to be in the practice rooms and seeing so much Blue Tron.

Karn is definitely a card we can see being built around. Blast Zone could have some large implications as lists become more defined

How are you guys feeling about Izzet still? It seems insane that despite a LOT of hate it's still performing this well. Humans and Shadow were eventually tamed.

Ignoring limited play, it did quite well at the pro tour

Going off that, izzet Phoenix performed very well. Guess the limited format kinda watered down its results.

Logan nettles on jund. He and reid seem to hate trophy in that deck.

Humans really good, too. So many people talked bad about that deck once spirits arrived as a top deck.

Geez. Jund at 12 and 10 was good? Lines up. I have done so poorly trying to play fairly with midrange lately.

Izzet is the better fair deck
