SaberInto posted a message on Flamekin JavelineersI would even see a version of this at mythic with red/green symbol and evolve. Like "Rubbarb, Flamekin Pyrojavelineer" or some sutch nonsense. He would have crazy synergy.Posted in: Custom Card Creation

SaberInto posted a message on Trouble keeping uo with standard....pWell, you depend on lists too much. Pick pieces that fit your play style off the bat and don't put your money in the first list that comes out. Aggro is fun but easy to play around so look for mid- range builds and control builds when entering the new set. That way you might only have to pick up a few cards to lock down your deck once the hyper aggro builds fall on their face. It might take a little more research but you will find you won't always be one step behind and will be playing a deck that you love the mechanics not only the win percentily at that moment in time. So if abzan is your zone pick up those cards when set comes out. Oh look, BG delirium is doing well.Posted in: Magic General

SaberInto posted a message on How to calculate the average CMC of your deck for BobIt depends on the type of deck but 3 dammage once or twice isn't bad if you are playing an aggressive deck but two is better for long game. When you start taking 4-5 dammage per trigger you only want to use it once cause when you are looking at 4-5 cmc's to be more than an occasional hit then you are loosing half your life by lets say turn 3-4 plus dammage that came through before and bob is not a big blocker. So knowing this then you stack your cards per cmc. It should look like a graph chart. Now what's the halfway point, and in what cmc do most of cards sit if you take out the 6 top and bottom cmc cards, did cmc change between the two, and is bob a 4 of or two of. Ask yourself that and you will understand how it works and be able to see what works better for you.Posted in: Modern

SaberInto posted a message on Voldaren Pariah / Distended Mindbender ComboSorry it doesn't work since the casting cost is dependent on the sacrifice. You can't stack sac triggers for multiple use since once one resolves the others can't, so your paria would need the extra creature since you can't respond to a sac when it's part of a casting cost. You can respond to an activated ability but not to an inherent ability.Posted in: Magic Rulings

SaberInto posted a message on Mothership spoilers 9/6: Chandra&Nissa from PW decks, Lathnu Hellion, Madcap ExperimentThey would be cheap and not wanted in decks so no one would want them. It would make walkers bulk mythics that would have to be eventually taken out of the game since people would complain that a good mythic spot would be taken by garbage cards. There is no way wizards would do that to their wanted cards. Since walkers sell packs in standard and that is where they make their money. They have to cater to the fan base, ie. Printing cards for modern and edh, but they are out to make money for themselves without breaking the formats since that would cause collectors to want to pull out and find a new game. It's a fine line between want and give, to allow the need to buy into the new sets to continue, for all players in the game.Posted in: The Rumor Mill

SaberInto posted a message on Maro says next new plane will be something players have been asking for for a long time?Egypt would be a good one. They seem to be travelling through the colour scheme; zendikar green, Innistrad Black, Kaladesh red, so that leaves blue and white. So considering Egypt would be white, sun god ra or blue being a water world that seems harder to pull off at the moment. I say Egypt with Ra as a sun god that could be a key to bolas's new plan to end life.Posted in: Storyline Speculation

SaberInto posted a message on Commander 2016 4 Colour CommandersAnother cool option would be a flip commander. Two colours on one side and two colours on the other and would stay flipped with alternate casting cost. That would make a totaly cool mechanic that would work in commander. Maybe have leige type effect, casting cost effect, ability effect, or even protection effect. And with a casting cost or board state flip criteria it would add a whole new dimention to the game. They could also make a merge commander that would become a super commander once other legendary alternate is on board. That could also be fun.Posted in: The Rumor Mill

SaberInto posted a message on are ypu happy with the set so far?I for one like the set. It's fun with interesting mechanics. I would of liked a better lili and better mythic werewolf but all in all we got some fun stuff that we might not of been expecting. I def. will be play testing some of the cards in modern and adding some to my commander decks.Posted in: New Card Discussion

SaberInto posted a message on Nahiri vs Sorin Duel DecksI don't think that will happen since Nahiri is in sutch demand right now. I can see Mysteries/Humans/Monsters vs The madness/Angels/Eldrazi horrors. Or some twist of that type.Posted in: Baseless Speculation

SaberInto posted a message on Proliferate ArtifactsI like Thrumingbird too as a fast enabler and would look into Jace, unraveler if secrets and or tezzeret the seeker to replace teferi. Jace would kind of do the same and has a nice alt and tezz is an artifact end game enabler or tutor.Posted in: Multiplayer

SaberInto posted a message on No Tibalt?I'm ok with Tibalt not being in this set. Save him for next time around and have him be really good with a heavy demon/devil theme to innistrad with more ghosts and ghoulies to add to our tribal decks. Since the angels are gone relatively what's to keep the demons at bay.Posted in: New Card Discussion

SaberInto posted a message on Hi, I'm new to Magic and I'd like some help deciding on what sets/accessories/packs to purchase.Well, From what I can tell, you want to play standard at your local fnm on fridays so you best bet is to buy into the newest set since standard is a rotating format which mean that new sets come in to replace older ones. In this case Dragon's of Tarkir is the oldest set in standard right now along with Origins. You will still be able to play them in standard until Kaladesh comes out. If you buy sstuff from Eldritch moon or shadow over innistrad, then you will be able to play them for alot longer. Just as a side note there is lots of fun stuff coming out in Eldritch moon. If after a while you find it hard to keep up to standard, try looking into commander. It's fun cheaper and you don't need all the best cards to win, look into it at your local store. Some have commander night or groups that play regularly.Posted in: Magic General

SaberInto posted a message on What is with all the netdecking vs roguedecking hate?I don't see too much hate from other players for netdecking except from those that are on a buget and want their drcks to win all the time. The real hate I see alot is for control players. One guy in particular that only plays agressive red decks picks a fit every time he has a control matchup because he almost always losses to control since he never boards against it. It's to the point that if you block his first assault he scoops and goes off on a rant about control being stupid and unfair.Posted in: Magic General
