I'm also eager to try out Baby Jace in both legacy and modern Shsdow lists, glad he worked out for you!
The only critism i have is why only 3 thought scour? With Jace as a filter outlet, Looting seems out of place in your list and i would ditch it for the 4th scour.
Edit: I've been trying out Sleight of Hand over Visions in a couple of games and i cannot complain so far
I fear SFM won't have the impact you all are hoping for. Even a Turn 3 Batterskull won't prevent Phoenix, Dredge and Titan from doing their powerful and unfair stuff. Of course i would highly appreciate it if they finally unban SFM.
And i don't have a problem with Titan and Phoenix being around because both decks can be attacked quite well by fair decks like GDS or Golgari Rock. It's dredge once again that just stomps all those fair decks and creates this kind of *****ty metagame...
After tonight, I have a hard time not switching my response to #5. What a miserable experience, again. Horizon can't come soon enough.
Be careful what you wish for. I fear Horizon will deliver much less to the format than many players hope and i'm pretty sure it will not be the savior of modern without wizzards throwing away their recent design philosophy. And i doubt they are able to print answers into the set that are in line with the current/future powerlevel of modern.
On the other hand i really hope i'm just plain wrong with my assumptions and modern will be in a better place after Horizons hits the stage...
Until then i will enjoy playing Pauper and especially Legacy, which is in a great condition since Deathrite Shaman got axed.
I prefer 2 Dromoka's Command to the 2 PtE in the sideboard, but otherwise that is my exact list. DC is there for Burn, UWR Control and the new BUG combo deck. I just like it's utility a little better.
I really enjoy the deck as it is atm, would not change a single card. Going back to rattlechains and moving GoSt to the side have been very important steps and really increased my overall win percentages.
Ad Nauseam at 3%? Linear as hell meta? Good that there has been no coverage to watch...
How is this linear as hell with control at 8%, 2 interactive semi-aggro decks (humans and spirits) and Jund at 3%? Granted that there is a small prevalence of some linear combo decks, but even among combo there is diversity. Also, I don't see what is bad with burn at 12% in a field which is still coming back from the KCI ban.
I'm pretty sure that the sarcasm went over your head on this one.
If your meta is creature heavy i would advice you to not cut Reflector Mage from the main. Geist of Saint Traft is a lot weaker in that particular case.
Overall I'm happy with it, but I'm not sure in the Serum Visions/Faithless Looting 1/1 split. Usually, we lose the scry as a consequence of the high number of fetchlands. Surprisingly, I get flooded a lot of games even the fact that I'm playing only 17 lands, so looting is nice in that situation. On the other hand, looting is a terrible topdeck because it does nothing (I've to wait until my next turn to play it).
What are your feelings about Serum/Looting?
This is a question i belive will not be answered until they print/unban something really good like Preordain (which will not happen anytime soon with GDS, Phoenix and UWx all being good decks). We've been discussing this multiple times now and there seems to be no correct answer.
Most play about 10 Cantrips distuingished between Visions, Looting, Bauble and Scour, whereas the exact composition is completely up to personal experience/style.
I'm on 3/3/3 and 1 Looting atm but may go back to 2 Visions and 4 Scours/Baubles.
I really like that they gave us a detailed article about how they approached their decision and what they are keeping an eye on in the future. Not seeing a SFM unban is kinda rough but overall well done WOTC!
Hey guys, I'm very interested in this deck, it looks very fun.
How is it's game against burn and aggro matchups such as humans, elves.
Is it an easy deck to learn and master? I can't go to many fnm's per month.
It's more on the easier side of the modern spectrum and nowhere near the complexity of KCI or GDS. Sequencing is the most important part besides some basic skills (remeber your triggers, fetch before casting Serum Visions etc). The deck wants to tap out pretty much every turn so many of your decisions are straight forwarded.
Burn is one of the tougher MU's whereas humans should be in your favour, same with spirits.
Edit: For example when i picked up the deck i played like 3-4 goldfish games and then did okay at the next 3 FNM's going 3-1, 3-1 and 4-0 without much further practice.
However this was when people did not expect the deck and had no clue what was going on. Should be a lot harder now that the deck is well known.
Having played a decent amount of UR Birds, the deck is a combination of Dredge and Storm that isn't crippled by the hate used for either. It's a bit too linear and uninteresting for me to continue playing, but it is very powerful.
And I never, ever, ever, want to hear about how Summer Bloom's ban hurt that deck in any appreciable way. If you can eat a ban and remain Tier 1, you where probably Tier 0.5 or 0.
EDIT: Anyway, even with only 3 KCI in Day 2, guess what, 3 KCI in the top 18. 13 Phoenix Day 2, 7 in the top 23.
Its a bit worrisome.
While i agree that the numbers of UR Phoenix are kind of worrisome, lets not forget that the hype train is more than real on this one. After all it's finally a good blue and red deck with some "tempo plays" to it where you can play your Bolts + Cantrips while attacking with 3/2 flyers.
However, unlike many other linear decks this one dies more to interactive spells than pure sb hate which promotes decks that are heavy on interaction such as Bgx, GDS and Control. Overall this looks like the type of "linear deck" that could actually be good for moderns health.

10 fetchlands
5 schocks
2 Basics
So with 4 Mire, 4 Delta and 2 Flats you are good to go because black is your most important colour. No need for an arid mesa at all.
I'm pretty sure as well
