Calling Eldrazi invading Innistrad. The Lovecraft love reference is simply too overt to ignore. (Plus they have to make colorless matters a part of the block's structure, and Innistrad isn't an artifact-heavy plane). Gothic Horror -> Lovecraftian Horror is a logical and flavorful jump, and it would explain why we have two return planes back to back.

I'm a little excited from evening sugar at the moment, so take the following with a grain of salt:

Had to decide between mostly-blue Eldrazi and Mardu Allies, went with the latter and was glad I did. Most everyone else I played against was running some manner of Eldrazi ramp, and I swept almost every round I won. I lost one round due to bad draw, and another to bad decision making. I'd utterly dominate the board until around turn 5 or 6 when the first big eldrazi started appearing, which is when I had to wrap things up or suffer a crushingly close defeat. Two opponents won a match while at less than 3 life because there are no decent burn options in this set and I couldn't push that last bit of damage through. Those Retreat to X cycle cards are pure value town in limited though, as even the red one salvaged a game I thought unwinnable.
This was my first time playing limited so I can't really say for certain how good it was compared to other sets, but I had a reasonable amount of fun. The biggest problem was the lack of proper removal, as once a big eldrazi hit the table I had next to zero ways of getting around it. This made games extremely swingy, as I either won flat-out or ran up against Mr. Breaker with little to no in-between. It really feels like this limited is a sort of watered-down version between RotE Limited and normal draft, which is going to please nobody.

Good gravy that event deck is awesome. The theme decks are pretty decent too this time around.

The amount of whining in this thread is beyond belief. I'm half-expecting calls for boycotts from some of you people, or a least a sternly-worded petition to WotC indicating your grave displeasure at the lack of power creep. You'd think after ten or so times of every set being 'the worst set ever' the usual suspects would catch on, but alas, such is the power of the internet.
