Hey. I really like your deck. What would you do to win if an opponent's commander was a gravehate commander such as anafenza, or playing cards like rest in peace? The kokusho/vizkopa combo would certainly work eventually, but how would these cards change your overall gameplan? I don't really play graveyard decks (my main deck is Mayael the Anima lol), so I'm curious. I feel like I'd get too annoyed with most of the cards / combos being dead.
New Thalia is insane in death and taxes builds with aether vial. This card will see a lot of play. It looks disgusting when you are ahead.
The real question is, is it worth the slot? Like you said, it looks great when you are ahead, so is it necessary in that situation or is it merely a win more card?
Hey guys. Not sure if this is the right place necessarily, but I've been trying to tune my Merfolk deck for my casual playgroup, and I just wanted to see if I could get some opinions on card selection. The people I play with sometimes play completely random decks, so I'm trying to balance the deck around combating many different situations, as well as for multiplayer games.
My main questions are with Kira, and the spell package. I feel like Kira is really good in this scenario, because lots of people play a decent amount of targeted removal, but I'm not sure if Remand and Spell Pierce are worth it, especially for multiplayer games. I don't ever see anyone play mana leak anymore, probably due to the current competitive meta, but does anyone think that this would be a better card? Also the sideboard is mainly to deal with random cheesy artifact strategies, zombies, dredge, etc.
I'm also thinking maybe maindecking Echoing Truth would be better, because there isn't actually that much control, and most of the counterspell targets are just removal and creature enchantments, which I feel like Kira covers.

Tell me if I'm wrong, but I believe that the primary purpose of Spreading Seas is to activate islandwalk, followed by removing manlands.
I'm a fan of these two personally:
