Okay, just realized that Lotus Petal is restricted. So, reworking. Still...

Possible turn two, frequent turn three to four. Problems are consistency and dealing with control measures. I had another version that splashed blue for counters, draw etc. But I found that the blue, while offering some protection, effectively slowed the deck. I think the speed and protection by redundancy is a better bet.

    Thoughts?

I know the conventional wisdom is that Pebbles can't be competitive and I tend to agree given the meta. But I figure, if anyone can help, it's you fine people..

    Okay, revised decklist:

    1x Black Lotus
    1x Mox Ruby
    2x Barbarian Ring
    16x Mountain

    Creatures:
    4x Vexing Devil
    4x Spark Elemental
    4x Hellspark Elemental
    4x Storm Elemental
    4x Ball Lightning

    Other Spells:
    4x Lightning Bolt
    4x Chain Lightning
    4x Fireblast
    4x Fling
    4x Fork

I have ordered a Stip and Wastelands and will replace when they arrive.

Thanks for your help, folks. Is there anything else to fix in there? Is there anything more efficient, creature-wise? I originally had Jackal Pups but replaced them with the Vexing Devils. I feel like there must be something else in the 1 drop range.

    Thank you!

Thank you! That is a lot of great information and criticism that is exactly what I needed. Really, thank you so much for your help.

I do have one question though, to follow up: should I add some method for card drawing or is top-deck and go sufficient for this type of deck? And a follow up, IF yes to card draw, do you have any good ideas for mono red cheap drawing engines?

    Cheers!

Hi, new to the forums. i'm just looking for some advice with respect to a mono-red sligh deck I just built. It needs to be faster and more violent, in my opinion. Here is the deck list:

    Land/Mana Sources:

    1x Black Lotus
    1x Mox ruby
    4x Barbarian Ring
    11x Mountain

    Sorceries:

    3x Assault Strobe
    3x Browbeat
    3x Wheel of Fortune
    1x Elemental Appeal

    Instants/Interrupts:

    4x Lightning Bolt
    4x Incinerate
    2x Fling
    1x Fork

    Creatures:

    4x Vexing Devil
    4x Spark Elemental
    4x Rakdos Shred-Freak
    4x Ball Lightning
    3x Blistering Firecat
    3x Lightning Serpent

The deck is capable of a lot of second and third turn kills, but there is a definite lack of consistency. I put in the browbeats as damage/draw and the WoF for draw as they were the most efficient things I could think of. It's doing pretty well in the meta at my LGS, going 14/21, but the losses are catastrophic ones. Please help!
