I agree with Retswerd here. RG Breach/Scapeshift is horrible too IMO. Plus, if you really want to improve your Storm match-up, you can always put Thoughtseize or Duress in your sideboard.
Happy Holidays! Does anyone here have extensive experience against Eldrazi Tron? I need tips on how to perfectly play the match-up. It has become the deck to beat in my meta and I have about 50% winrate. Any sideboard tech you have? I normally bring in Chameleon Colossus, Phyrexian Revoker, Rec Sage, and Stony Silence.
I've been thinking of what to include in my sideboard, Leads or Shaper's Sanctuary. I feel like both have their merits and I still have not decided yet. What do you guys think? This is on GW Vizier.
Some questions:
Wasn't Relic too slow when you needed GY hate? There a few options you can go for (Ooze, Leyline of the Void, Loaming Shaman), why Relic?
How was Shaper's Sanctuary?
How'd you find your removal suite of Abrupt + Dismember? I feel like if I'm gonna pay black, might as well play the "best" removal of the format: Fatal Push.
Went 3-3 in the last pptq I played in (almost identical list), lost both of my win and ins due to elementary errors (somehow forgot to untap a devoted druid to block against burn). I feel like I understand the ins and outs of my deck pretty well at this point, but I'm always looking for new angles and ideas so I can perform my very best. Thanks!
Your list seems pretty stock. The best improvement you can make depends on your meta. Do you have a read on what you can expect?
Has anyone plaued against the new deck floating around? The one that has Vengevine and Hollow One and wants to have creatures for free? I don't know what the deck is called. The guy that consistently tops an LGS near just calls it "Free Dudes".
I am building an Elf deck and I am leaning towards the GB build because I do not have Horizon Canopies for the GW version. I just bought a set of Cavern of Souls (first print) and I am waiting for the reprint of Horizon Canopy before I buy them. Are they necessary on the GW build?
Any basic tips you can give in playing GB? TIA!
Canopies help a lot vs flooding. It isn't necessary but it has a lot of value in a deck like ours. You can add forests or Temple Gardens instead.
Some tips:
Don't be greedy when casting Shaman of the Pack. Draining them for 4 is better than holding your shaman and getting your board wiped.
Use Durees/Thoughtseize in your sideboard. Easily the best caed out of GB sideboards.
Use Elvish Visionary. It's really good even if some hate on it. It replaces itself and one of the rare good topdecks of the deck.
Remember that you can stack your) Shaman triggers. While the trigger is on the stack, hold priority and cast Chord or Coco to get another Shaman. This way, both triggers "see" both Shamans.
Has anybody tried Sigarda, Host of Herons? I'm really interested in including 1 in my sideboard. Seems like a strong card vs BGx decks and ETron and an awesome beater against other go-wide decks. Or is she too slow/too hard to cast?
Congratulations! Please do post your list when you get the chance.
EDIT: Didn't read the part where you describe your list
Congratulations, brother! Way to represent Elves!

For The Rock, Colossus is MVP, so is Scavenging Ooze and Elvish Champion. You could bring in a couple of Paths, RIP, Selfless Spirit and 1 Rec Sage.
For burn, Rec Sage, Ooze, Kor Firewalker, BFT. I don't like paths vs burn since they don't have a really big creature that we can't handle.
I suggest trimming a Rec Sage or a Selfless Spirit for Phyrexian Revoker. That thing does a lot of work against Planeswalkers and some other stuff.

You are correct. Edited the post. Sort of spaced out on that bit.
Prowess of the Fair?
