I think you're missing some cards from the deck list, like the momentary blinks.
It looks like a neat deck idea, albeit a little fragile; also, I think Remand only has a place in dedicated counter decks. I think you'd be better off with Rune Snags for the early counters or (better yet) getting another Mystic Snake and switching in some removal for the other 3 Remands.
I like the Saffi/Solifuge idea enough to maindeck it; it also works well with the Timbermare, right? And its a great way to gain an emergency 4 life with the Heiarch. I pull the Solifuge and Heiarch tricks all the time in my GlareBeats deck.
Me and my crack team of Magic card deck-builders (read: one other guy) spent all day trying to put together a Wild Pair combo deck. It's fun, and works about 25% of the time in standard . . . and the rest of the time it goes down in flames. I would say it's definitely a casual deck.
This is how it rolled:
Wild Pair + Cloudstone Curio + Ornithopter on the board; play a 1/1, bounce the Orni, grab a Witch-Maw Nephilim, then a couple Essence Wardens, a few Wild Cantors, then finally a big ol' Grapeshot. Unfortunately, the Grapeshot normally goes off for about 16, so one board wiper and you're out.
Daring Apprentice is a cool way to keep the combo alive, but that summoning sickness gives 'em one turn to kill everything.
I really think the deck is viable as multiplayer goodness, though. I would run it at about 100 cards with tons of tutor/transmute effects to get the combo pieces, and maybe some haste enchantments (I am personally a big fan of Concordant Crossroads). Plus, it would leave more options for devastating storm cards.
Oh, it so totally is the Torchling that it's not even worth arguing about. After all, Time Spiral Block has produced the two most self-referencing sets ever.
Plus, a Torchling being Pognified is about a gajillion times cooler than just "some red dude".
Guess what: Spellshift might not be great, but it's interesting. It's one of those cards that WotC makes specifically to see who in God's name will try and do something- anything- with it. Yes, you'd have to make a whole deck around it. No, it probably wouldn't do much of anything. But it would be interesting, and that alone means it's not the worst card in PC.
I think Hero's Remembered is probably the worst rare, simply because it is extremely boring. And yes, Sophic Centaur is really, awfully bad.
Side note: Anyone remember "how bad" Dralnu, Lich Lord was? Even Mike Flores said that "at the same converted mana cost, Dralnu just seems much slower than Tidings and worse in general than fast spells like Careful Consideration". Just because we can't think of a World Class deck with a jank rare doesn't mean it's not out there. And if we could think of that deck, we probably wouldn't be sitting around arguing on the internet.
Yeah right. They just put out two of the most popular, best-selling sets of all time (Ravnica Block and Time Spiral Block), courtesy of my hero and perpetual man-crush MaRo. I don't think they are hurting for the cash.
Maybe they just, I don't know, actually listened to what most players like?
Cool stuff. I'd go straight-up G/R though, get elves (instead of sprawls) so you have creatures to sac in case the game drags, and instead of U counter just drop in a couple Avoid Fate. A turn three swing for 16 is pretty feasible with this deck; maybe some burn to finish the job?
I like the "no counter, no target" stuff, but I'd move it to the sideboard.
I like 'em all, but as with much of Planar Chaos I don't think the Dragons will fit easily into existing deck types. Instead, decks will either have to be built or retro-fitted around them.
Intet has pretty great synergy with Telling Time (an underrated card, even though it's blue) and while Vorosh is a little boring he could get huge in multiplayer. Numot is land destruction, which is either game-winning or pointless; the fact that he is also six to the face makes it a little more consistent, I guess.
Oros and Teneb are by far my favorite of the bunch. I made a deck around them both the night after the pre-release, using Crime//Punishment and lots of other good stuff (and some hardcore jank, like Dune-Brood Nephlim). If either of those guys get active on the board they just wreck stuff.
You know, when I saw Mike Flore's title for his Oros/Teneb deck, I was so freaked out that my deck wasn't original anymore I actually bought a subscription to Starcitygames! I shouldn't have worried, though; I like playing with creatures, so it wasn't an issue.

What the hell is a Torchling, anyways?

I mean, really . . . is it ever a dead draw?
No.
Okay, almost never. I don't care what anyone says, a 2/2 still hits for a tenth of your opponents life.

Nah, that'd make too much sense!
