Hmmm..... well, we have Swords to Plowshares (overpowered) and Path To Exile (still quite strong). Compared to them, I think this card is balanced enough: It benefits your opponent in a way, but the benefit isn't so free.

    Squee's best friend.

    Apherdera, Exvitalis Paragon 5BB
    Legendary Creature - Demon (R)
    Flying, menace
At the beginning of your upkeep, you may discard a creature card. If you do, each opponent sacrifices a creature.
"You will pay tribute in blood to me, one way or another."
    5/5

I like Ocomore indeed. Very creative use of a token strategy, and there's always plenty of ways to lopside it (such as Curse of Death's Hold). Well done.

Random idea of a mox (cycle).

    Mox Obsidian 0
    Artifact (R)
As Mox Obsidian enters the battlefield, you may sacrifice a black creature. If you don't, put Mox Obsidian into its owner's graveyard instead.
    T: Add B.

    Balanced enough? Or too expensive?

void nothing's Critique on TBD fits for the most part, and I can't really say anything else other than agreeing that it should cost 5cc.

    Another 5cmc card.

    Seraph of Armistice 3WU
    Creature - Angel (M)
    Flying
Whenever one or more creatures deal combat damage to a player, end the turn.
"That is enough. I do not permit you to commit further aggression"
    5/4

I feel like I'm pushing the stat here despite the symmetrical effect, but then aside, I'm actually thinking this could actually be mono white. Do you agree?

    EDIT:

    Seraph of Armistice 3WW
    Creature - Angel (M)
    Flying
Whenever one or more creatures deal combat damage to a player, end the turn.
"That is enough. I do not permit you to commit further aggression"

Each bird creature, huh? Quite narrow, but maybe playable. Birds aren't the only fliers in town, after all; she's useless against angels and dragons.

Super complicated card based on a flavor I have in mind.

    Unexpected Adversary 4RR
    Sorcery (R)
Choose target creature or planeswalker you control, target creature or planeswalker you don't control, and another target player. The chosen player reveals the top cards of his or her library until a creature or planeswalker card is revealed this way, puts it onto the battlefield, then shuffles his or her library. If a permanent enters the battlefield this way, it fights with each of the chosen permanents. (A planeswalker who fights deals damage equal to its loyalty counters)

In case you're wondering about what flavor, the art I'm imaginng about this card is that Bolas and Ugin are clawing at each other again when suddenly Emrakul crashes the party. Comments?

Looking at the first few story, I'm frankly annoyed that the set is named just Dominaria. You would think that cosnidering its historic value, a set with that name would have a decently epic story, but of course after the disaster that is Ixalan stories, it should have been folly of me to expect such.

I do admit, though, that calling the set something like Belzenlok Uprising or Revenge of the Cabal would've been too spoilery, but come on.....

Taking Bishop of Binding into account, I think this should also cost at least 4, if not more since you have full control of which of your creatures being exiled. Neat idea, regardless.

    Forced card?

    Grasp The Sun 3WU
    Sorcery (R)
If you have the City's Blessing, you gain 10 life and draw three cards. Otherwise, you gain the City's Blessing.
There are those who would take the power of the sun even before it rises.

Basically it's an Ascend cheat: Instead of having 10 permanents, you can have only 5 (or maybe less) and get the City's Blessing this way. Deliberately this card doesn't have Asced; not sure if I should. Comments?

Erm.... as written, once you have three or more +1/+1 counters on this ooze, you can activate the ability over and over to get 3/3's for mana a pop.... You might want to reword it as "Activate this ability only if there are two or fewer +1/+1 counters on this" or "If the third +1/+1 counter is placed this way, make token" or something else.

    Drive To Extinction 2BB

Exile target creature. If Drive To Extinction was kicked, search that creature's controller's library, hand and graveyard for a creature that shares a creature type with that creature for each time Drive To Extinction was kicked and exile it. If you search a player's library this way, he or she shuffles it.

So if you manage to sink enough mana, this becomes extra lethal against tribal decks. I originally wanted to not kick it and just have a super expensive spell that exiles all creatures that share a type, but then in tribal sets it will be just way too swingy. Comments?

    EDIT:

    Drive To Extinction 2BB
    Sorcery (R)
    Multikicker 1B
Exile target creature. If Drive To Extinction was kicked, search that creature's controller's library, hand and graveyard for a creature card that shares a creature type with that creature for each time Drive To Extinction was kicked and exile it. If you search a player's library this way, he or she shuffles it.

Channeled Might is the worst of the lot, as the card is already quite restrictive to begin with and doesn't confer that great a benefit, IMO. But I think a little extra numbers should suffice.

Lich's Caress, meanwhile.... I think might get bonkers, but I may be wrong. IN a way, as long as you can offset the life loss, this means your creatures can never die, so do be careful.

The rest... on first glance seems fine, but may need more testing.

Put three +1/+1 counters on target creature you control and a +1/+1 counter on target creature an opponent controls.
When nature grants strength to someone, sometimes it gives too much to contain in a single body.

Basically Giant Growth, but Sorcery, permanent, and requires your opponent to benefit from it. What do you think?

After the disaster that is last week's story, at least this one's ok.

Huatli being a tourist might have made for a wonderful/funny story, but too bad about the emperor's dickery from last week and now which makes that as a non-option.

Unhappy that Angrath's story is too short. You'd think that his 14-year abssence would've been good for a whole set of story all by itself, but now, they had to truncate it into a simple "I'm home" short. Beh. They really are not interested in dispelling my accussations that they are trying their damnest to make Angrath uninteresting.

Vraska's story is a bit too straightforward and too... easy. I would've expected Bolas to not fully honor his side of the deal, but now with Jarad about to kick the bucket, well, we'll see what'll happen.

Jaya joins the Gatewatch? Oh, le sigh.

A short but intriguing story. They did not reveal the gender of the narrator, which is clever.

Haha, a short story to celebrate one card. I agree, thanks for sharing Smile

..... What is this? Snakes On A Plane?!?

And the way they wrote Angrath's last line really justifies my previous wish that Angrath should have been a bratty teen bull instead of a father of two.

I seriously think that Wizards have realized that people are liking a character that is not Jace or Nicol Bolas and is taking steps to make bloody hell sure that character becomes unlikeable. Really, I like Angrath enough before they had the gall to 'reveal' he's a father of two (which, at that point, I could tolerate), that he's been separated for 14 years (an excessive number, as if Angrath is in dire need of quick sympathy (answer: No, he doesn't need sympathetic background to be likeable, thank you very much)), and while then they try to make him sound wise to try justifying the 14 year gap, suddenly they devolve him back into some bratty toddler. (okay, FINE, for his last line, I can take that he's just super ecstatic that he'll be able to see his daughters again. Still, considering his talk with Huatli, especially until they run into Elenda, this excessive shouting doesn't sit well with me.)

Aside from that, the story feels kinda whatever. Next.

EDIT: Oh, God, I just realized what I said... there was a gorgon with snake-y hair on the plane, so it really is Snakes On A Plane XD XD XD XD XD

EDIT #2: Sorry, important question, hope you see it.
Anyone knows whatever the hell happened to Jenna Helland? She's practically the ONLY writer I can think of who has always been able to churn out good stories.

I don't think I like the second combat damage trigger, although I may be overreacting considering that at 3 mana, swarming the board with this is not necessarily an easy task. Otherwise, I love the design and the choice of abilities.

You mean this card is actually named Mindfire Homunculus, right? Anyway, as it is, I think it looks quite fine; There are other cards that get +1/+1 counters in addition to you drawing cards as opposed to replacing your draw, so I think this should be fair.

Not bad. I love the idea of turning Treasures into Relics which then you can use for fun and profit. While I think the last ability may be too cheap by a wee, it's still board dependent, so maybe fine.

Evil discard spell.... or Unearth engine?

    Debase Into Phantoms 1UB
    Sorcery (R)
Target player reveals his or her hand and discards all creature cards revealed this way. For each card discarded this way, that player draws a card and creates a 2/2 blue Illusion creature token.
"So you claim your champions are ready to bring you to victory? They can't even carry their own armaments if I so will it."

I admit this is a rather tricky card to cost. Too high, and it becomes useless as using it against your opponent will instead give him cards and army to crush you with, but too cheap, this is still a mass discard + Peek that can go wrong so badly. Comments?

Well, as expected, old ancient 10K old sphinx that doesn't really feel much like a 10K old sphinx again. Beaten by his own failsafe. Lunging when he's more of a mind mage. Pathetic. And seriously, reading his part gives me the impression that he is not a 10K old planeswalker, he's a robot. Where oh where can I find a story of a 10K old character who's not so damn single-mindedly automatic like this little beardie?

Sad that the only thing I can say I like from this story is Angrath roasting Huatli's pet...

Though on the other hand, at least the community have their fun by being proven right about Azor and Ugin being involved in the Immortal Sun. The only question I have, then, is how exactly Bolas found out about the Immortal Sun, and how and most importantly why Bolas came to Tarkir.
