Just as long as I don't have to stick with one shard's colours, I will be looking foreward to it. Sure it has some crap commons in the set, but every set does. You will have to pick those in draft at some point, just like every other set.
However, I am slightly dissapointed about basic lands in boosters. I generally don't end up with 4 of each common as it is!
If you mirrorweave an Ashenmoor Gouger then the Manaplasm will become 8/8, is that correct?
Yes. You play the spell first pick targets etc. then your manaplasm gets counters. Then everything becomes a gouger, and your ex-manaplasm has 4 +1/+1 counters on it.
Edit: I'm an idiot and can't read cards. they aren't counters but you still have an 8/8.
G9.10a - If a permanent is indestructible, rules and effects can't destroy it. Such permanents are not destroyed by lethal damage, and they ignore the lethal-damage state-based effect (see Rule 420.5c). Rules or effects may cause an indestructible permanent to be sacrificed, put into a graveyard, or removed from the game. [CompRules 2004/02/01]
This means you can deal the damage, take off the loyalty counters and still kill it. This only saves it from vindication.
All I know is that the huge amount of hybrids in shadowmoor / eventide make this an awful lot easier to make work. Generally my domain decks that sort of work (I had one in highlander that could work) have about 10 land finding spells (rampant growth etc.), and lots of efficient beaters or powerhouses. With these 3 coloured bomb guys (woolly thoctar), I am sure I need to get 3 prismatic omens. The last two blocks being fairly multi colour heavy are helping more than I could have hoped.
Not liking any of them. The CIPT lands are just too powerful IMO, the artifacts are failure in comparison to the ingot, and the panorama lands are garbage next to terramorphic expanse. You aren't likely to be playing either outside of T2 or casual, neither of which are likely to have shocklands in the decks. And sure they don't set you back a mana for a turn, but I can live with that when playing 3+ colours.
That is going to be the difference between winning all your games and losing them all in limited. Stupidity. Now some midget will open one and possibly beat me because of it.
Reasons they won't do the booster boxes:
- There are artifact rares that go into any shard
- in limited people will complain "ahhh he got 3 esper boosters he instantly just won the whole tourney"
and that's just what I thought of in a minute.
I'll consider putting this into my elemental deck. It could prove disastrous. I think just sideboard for now.
What I find ridiculous is that nobody can spell ridiculous right in this thread. There is no E in ridiculous, people.
Okay, done ranting on about spelling and all that.

He looks alright, and finally the skeletons get their lord?! Yes!

Long story short, I WILL make it work.
I'll be after 1 or 2, I'll be wanting to build grixis.
That would be right. Just when darkness rotates out.
Looks like rubbish to me.
Untapping artifacts won't be much help, but the other two certainly will.
