Thanks again Jay for providing this journey down memory lane. I had read Moons of Mirrodin and Fifth Dawn, but never read Darksteel Eye, don't know why, I just skipped it and picked up Dawn. This summary def filled in some blanks. My only issue with the story was the five year jump, just not a fan of that plot device.
Now that I'm thinking of it, I wish Bruenna had received a card at some point. She saved Glissa's hide countless times, and she's a capable, resourceful character.
Thanks again and looking forward to Scars and the rise of New Phyrexia.

Mar 28, 2017TearingEons posted a message on The World of Mirrodin I: Moons of MirrodinThanks for writing these up Jay! Mirrodin is one of my favorite planes for many reasons, and this summary fills in some blanks from long ago. Chiefly, the explanation of the gravity shifts moving toward the core definitely helped me picture things. And I remember the plant of the smudge that Memnarch wipes away, and how it instantly incepts him to see the world as imperfect where he saw perfection seconds before. Some did think it was possibly Phyrexian (glistening oil wasn't a term yet), but it was only speculation from those that even read the books. Overall, the Start of Mirrodin's story is fun and cannot wait for the next installments.Posted in: Articles
Also, keep up the good work. Really enjoying the summaries as written from the Phyrexian perspective. And Thanks for doing the history of Phyrexia as well. That was an enjoyable read as well. -

It's always a blast remembering past worlds and seeing tidbits that were missed the first time. For me, this was Dark Discoveries, def a good read!Posted in: Articles
Alara was a world that brought me back to Magic after a couple year hiatus, so it's nice to see it again. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.
If this were White, I don’t believe it would need a tax cost like Smothering Tithe. Tithe has to go through Standard, so makes sense the diagnosis would give the opponent an option. Since this is going straight into Commander, it should work like Alms Collector and give no option. It would give a nice boost to White, keeping with tax effects, but scaled for Commander.
WotC: Ok, here's removal that's a twist on White's larger board states that doesn't involve attacking.
Players: WhY yOu BeNd CoLoR pIe FoR wHiTe???
This is a great card for White to get as it's a better payoff to flooding the board/creating tokens than just attacking. Yes, it does feel Red, but White sorely needs help fleshing out its ID. Let it become the color that best utilizes a large board/token swarm. This is a big step in making White a more well rounded color and doesn't hurt the other colors either. Shoot, Green just had another gigantic creature that is uncounterable, has haste and hexproof, and a kicker to add more counters while already starting as a 6/6. Let White get new toys lol.
I know that, we just don’t know what kind of cycle these legends will be. That’s why I said a new Ixidor could be monoblue based on past cycles or they could do like these latest JumpStart legends and have off color abilities. I’d be all for an Ixidor with abilities that make him five colors. Not just a generic five color activation like Golos or new Sisay, but a couple of abilities, or more, that fill out his color identity.
So tired of Green getting good incidental card draw each set. Meanwhile, White needs two or more creatures to be attacking them, or have an opponent cast their second spell.
I'd love for us to get a new Braids! If they can make Rankle, they can find a way to make a new Braids that's less busted/stax-y. Since she has the Dementia Summoner title, maybe she'll get a Chainer, Nightmare Adept treatment. Fingers crossed!
I agree with ya that Boros and White always have to risk themselves to get card advantage while UG and Green just sit back and rake it in. Def think it's about time that RW/W can just sit back and enjoy some card advantage. The whole, 'it's just not what they do' sentiment needs to change to allow RW/W to actually catch up with the other colors.
