Here is what I'm running, it's a little different as it runs some countermagic...but so far has done pretty well for me. Planning on taking it to an FNM sometime next week...any thoughts? Local meta has seen a lot of RDW, Reveillark, UB Faeries.
A lot of games are won either by tapping the opponent down with Cryptic Command, or by Prowling out Notorious Throng for a few flying tokens and swinging again for the win with +2/+1 thanks to Stinkdrinker Bandit (which IMO could be the MVP of the deck).
The Negates will probably come out. Not sure for what, though. I'd like to run at least 8 counterspells, as they are flexible since they can act sort of like preemptive removal.
Morsel Theft is here for the RDW matchup as well as the 6 life advantage you get from it. Not sure on a sideboard yet. The deck as it is runs sort of like a UB Faeries deck.
Considering all the +1/+1 counters that the Lorwyn block gave us and the -1/-1 counters in the Shadowmoor set . . . How are / will you be organizing your counters ? ?
example - How would you tell your negative counter on a Barrenton Medic from a positive counter on a pumped up Burrenton Bombardier ?
Going back to the question in bold...
I may print out some card sized sheets with "+1/+1" and "-1/-1" going all the way down and place them into old, crapped up, different colored sleeves...then cut them up and tape the ends shut so I'll have little rectangular 'tickets' to place on anything in play.
Since Vesuvan Shapeshifter comes into play as either Vesuvan Shapeshifter or a 2/2 facedown creature, and it BECOMES a copy of a target creature, it will not get to champion a faerie if you copy Mistbind Clique. Hence, no mana short.
Ah, you guys are right...been a while since I looked at Brine Elemental...
Maybe Vesuvan is in there to act as a 5th and 6th Scion of Oona, granting an additional +1/+1?
What's awesome to see is Maralen of the Moonsong being played. She is afterall an honourary faerie if you look at the storyline and has great interaction with Vendillion Clique - but I do wonder what her and Vesuvan Shapeshifter are doing in this deck.

Did Gamestop jump the gun?
I just started playing the quest mode (subspace somethingorother) -
Few minutes in you see an effect looking like a 'real life' Damnation!
Edit-looks like someone beat me to it. Feel free to merge this into the other one!
Preeminent Captain could help you crank out more creatures.
And maybe a few of the Harbingers to help you pull up what you want.
Flamekin Harbinger seems to be the most efficient, if a little boring.

Read the card some more.
"When Vesuvan Shapeshifter comes into play or is turned face up..."
By your logic, the pickles lock wouldn't work as well as it does...
Mistbind Clinque + Vesuvan Shapeshifter = Mini Pickles lock! Very creative and not expected at all.
Vesuvan can also flip back to copy Vendilion Clique to bump away cards which the opponent gains by Maralen.
Just got started back again...kind of.
Started in 4th, quit around Visions. I was a youngin' with no money.
Picked it up again briefly during Urza's Saga...same sentiment as above.
After a long hiatus (and getting a job), I randomly bought some packs of Time Spiral to see what it was like; so far so good!
Nice to meet you all.
