i think the amalgam version could have legs for those reasons too..dredge really only has conflagration over that version...
vengevine is different because you have to build around it because it needs triggered with 2 creatures... thus the free creatures (bloodghast, and flamewake) that arent cast, dont work towards the same gameplan.... sure theres a lot of overlap, but Gx tron and eldrazi tron have a lot of overlap, but are quite different decks as well...
on a more relevant note, other than color splashes, destructive revelry 2x SB is nice sb hate-hate which i can get behind.
I took BR roulette (hollow one) to the team open, and went 5-2-2 (team so not all matches finish) started out 6-0 in games ... felt a little underwhelmed with the random cards later in the day though as i had to mulligan a lot (17 lands felt rough) and had bad luck pitching free hollow ones also in the two losses...
kinda want to replace goblin lore. was thinking maybe some blue cards could be good... chart a course to negate the card disadvantage the deck has, magus of the bazaar is decent but slow option... are there other blue looters i can brew with?
its tricky. playing flameblade t1 is usually correct if you have it... unles i have a hollow one in hand and faithless and SW... or an inquiry and hollow one... depends on the situation, but flameblade first cause he will swing for 4 turn 2 regardless, unless you think you can get 2 hollow ones turn one.
started playing faerie and it feels better than edge of autumn for sure... also, char_aznable also swears by grim lavaman, and it is counter intutive to bring it in post board, but it is amazing in this shell if he survives... vs small creature decks usually best.
yo yo... been looking for a primer for this... I believe im the only person using edge of autumn? ... its a free cycler, flood protection, lets you be fast, fill up your graveyard quick and not exile things like looting/flamewake/bloodghast when casting gurmag. Its often sideboarded out except when We need to be fastfastfast... 4 felt excessive because we often only want to cycle one in a match. makes more intentional t1 hollow one broken hands ( dont sac your land if its your only land (including hand) unless youre gonna get like 2 or 3 hollow ones) takes practice, but feels like a missing link in the deck to me.
goblin lore, although random just synergies better with the deck. makes flameblade ferocious, free hollow ones, etc. theres plenty of blue decks out there atm also, so cathartic just feelsbadman.
cool cool. ive been conteplating basically what you've done with the mana base... although i dont like the no chalice plan...
but yeah, tec edge being so strong vs control and valakut .. ive been on 4 gq 2 tec edge for a bit, but could go up. I would try a scavenger grounds or two over a wastes, and maybe 4th tec edge.
how is witchbane orb? ... bring in vs valakut/ strom/burn?
Well two answers: endless one is MB. We are generally the aggressor g1. Endless one fits the curve wherever we want. I haven’t played endbringer at all in a while but it’s not wrong per say.
I only attack or block with man lands if I can spare it dying or if I know the coast is clear. Smart but aggressive. Sometimes man lands eat a lili activation.
also, just tested ghostfire blade for the first time 2x, in place of copter/key to the city, and endless one... pretty good and fast... swinging for 5 turn 2 often.
Solemn is nice cause it’s mana fixing and value. I do prefer talismans though for mana fixing because it is ramp and curves out well with non island hands when in a race situation (t2 talisman with natural tron into t3 8 mana board wipe or t4 slaver... when I value cards, talismans and solemn are the first to be cut unfortunately but they help us mulligan less....

U splash is slower. However stubborn denial is so good.
I feel like souls splash is so minimal. Like in mardu pyromancer. It’s not even a splash really
Desperate rsvings is a good option too
Also want to test a white splash list but haven’t yet. Fit in lingering souls to negate random discard. Get wear/tear...other good SB stuff possibly

i tried 17 lands, and i think 18 is correct btw.

If they concede you know chalice is good. I maybe bring in a relic and a ratchet bomb and cut a couple ssg or something and wait to see what’s up.

I have been having a lot of success with 2x tectonic edge. Vs control and big mana. Ie eot blow up 4th land so they can’t cast cryptic on your turn.
