It is a fact that a deck that can out control faeries will beat it.
That being said, Lark normally has a hard time out-controlling faeries due to the fact that lark normally has 8 - 7 counters post board where as faeries have approximately 10 - 12 counters pre board, not to mention stuff like mistbind clique.
I am also a lark player, and i must agree that faeries is indeed a dreadful match-up for us.
I see. hmm does that mean if my opponent plays Profane command for X choosing to make me loose x life (Targeting me), and chooses to give a target creature -X/-X, i can stop it by
a) giving myself shroud somehow (to make me an illegal target)
or
b) killing/bouncing the creature he wants to kill
Lets say my opponent plays Primal command. he chooses to search his library and to return my Mutalvault to the top of my library. if i then make my manland a man, will the whole spell fizzle or will he still get to search his library.
Also for other commands, example Cryptic command, if my opponent chooses to counter my spell and bounce my creature, but i somehow give my creature shroud, will the who spell fizzle or will he still counter my spell?
@everyone: i forgot, merfolk, the matchup is near impossible some tell me, for me its untested, opinions?
I have experience against a merfolk deck. And it wasn't a good one (this was Pre shdowmoor). Almost all their drops are threats, and if your dont draw a wrath or maybe a teferi's moat, you will be island walked to death. and even if you do, they play like faeries, as in they will be waiting to counter those game winning spells. But then again there aren't many merfolk decks in the meta so you don't have to be too worried bout them
I think you're underestimating how good RDW is. We need the four Riftwatchers maindeck. Maybe not the Finks, but definitely the Riftwatchers.
Also, Flashfreeze is going to be good in a metagame dominated by aggro decks.
Even when RG just got an uncounterable creature that works as an anti-flashfreeze spell?
But yes i agree that with the steam that Shdm is giving RDW we need riftwatchers main in order to handle the onslaught
Since the introduction of shadowmoor to standard, i couldn't help but notice all the interesting black cards that could put black control back into tier one (such as urchins). so i am seriously contemplating making a MBC myself.
But i have one question for you MBC veterans (Talon and gang).
How do you guys plan to handle chameleon colossus?
You get to return the mulls. Void resolves, lark and mnulls in grave, trigger goes on the stack. you then choose your targets, which i assume are your mulls.
If i remember correctly, prophry nodes were discussed back when this thread was in the deck discussion forums, and the discussion was in conclusive. some held that it has done well in their testing but others mentioned that due to its poor interaction with wall of roots, it was dropped form their lists
But i fail to see how sonic boom has a bad match-up against us. i would have thought they can beat us easily

EDIT : NVM i think i get it. thx dude

For all we know some crazy combo or control deck will pop up by that time. its too early to say, so we gotta chill and wtach what happens

When SHadowmore comes in, nothing will rotate out

OK to Good : kithkin, elves
Hard (requires a lot of thinking and concentration) : Mirror
BAD BAD BAD : Faeries, blue based permission control
and prob u need some more removal, or maybe even mana tithe. remove the Benalish calvary for some either mana tithe or maybe temporal isolation
