While I think bo1 is legit for limited (where sideboarding is a lot less of a factor anyway), I don't like the way this might lead...
If the "players love this format on arena" comes mostly from numbers of entries, this is a highly biased argument, since bo3 drafts are a lot more expensive and require premium currency that you can only get without paying real money by playing bo1 drafts.
Following this reasoning, they could also extend the bo1 mode to constructed, since it is the default mode and so far the only one with a ranking system in arena.
Not to forget, an online game is a very different environment from an FNM or similar event - you can just start it up and play a couple of games whenever you feel like it without commiting too hard. That's fine, personally I mostly play quick single games on arena too, but you can't really compare it to organized paper play.
Elite Arrester has a huge warhammer but 0 power. Makes sense.
Not pictured: the Huge alarm bell he rings with that hammer as soon as he notices any threat - it is just an intrument, he's not authorized to engage in any hostilities
Ruf zu den Waffen[/b] is LITERALLY "Call to Arms". However, that card already appeared in Ice Age (Call to Arms). But it was translated as "Mobilmachung", which, in turn, means Mobilization, that had, in turn to take the name "Mobilisierung", when it got German printing.
Well, thanks for saving me some time checking this, was a bit confused after comparing the german name to the thread title. They definitley blew some translations, especially in the earlier sets...
Wow, I read the thread title and was sure this would be a reprint of some uncommon limited-only angel I had seen a hundred times before but couldn't quite recall the full card... guess I was wrong
Yeah, that's why I'm wondering if they are updating them with each season when rotation hits. New players get them, obviously, but if someone stops playing for a while and comes back then what? Anyone here played past rotation and know what they do with the starters?
I would expect them to update the starters with rotation, but that won't help players returning from a break, since I do absolutely not see them giving out additional starters to those who already accquired them once - maybe there will be another mechanic to compensate for cards lost to rotation, but we will have to wait and see.
I agree with As Foretold being better, but Smothering Tithe seems more flexible than Chimes or Dynamo since you can save the treasures. Might turn out less usefull than I think, but should at least be worth testing.
Personally, I like how they made Kaya (and to a lesser extend Dovin) more niche than other walkers. It's a lot more interesting than just making them the biggest possible bombs and I'm very fine with a sideboard-utility-walker.
You definitely can't just slam her into any W/B deck and be done with it, but she has her uses and can do quite some work in the right cases.
Anyone know if you have to complete a draft in a single sitting or can I for example draft my deck today then play the draft out over a few days?
I'm not 100% sure where I saw this, but if I remember correctly you have 30 minutes to complete the draft, and 2 hours to complete your games for that draft. You can't play more than 9 games (since you go until 7 wins or 3 losses) which averages out to allowing about 15 minutes per game. (If you've started a game when you roll over the 2-hour mark it'll let you finish that game) Honestly, I can't see very many limited games going that long; most of my drafts I've probably gone start to finish in 90 minutes or less.
Not really sure about a time contraint on drafting, but 2 hours for games is definitely wrong. You may keep any event open as long as it's available (so until the change of sets every 2 weeks for quick draft). You just can't pause between individual games of a bo3 event, obviously.
it appears one can not purchase sets that have rotated out in Arena. That means that for standard plus, people joining late would have to expend wild cards on the rotated sets, assuming that is even possible.
This is an odd point of criticism... currently there is no format in which to play anything that's not standard legal, so it would be mostly pointless and unnecessarily confusing to sell packs with absolutely no immediate play value.
Keep in mind that it's still a beta and ranked was just released about a week ago. They just went with bo1 initially to get more games in for the sake of analysis. I expect an additional bo3 ladder soon.
In general, the development team seems pretty responsive to player feedback and since bo1 vs bo3 ranked is discussed a lot, I can't see them ignoring this.
It's on the side menu, top of the list. I'm not sure how you're missing it TBH.
Well, it's not in the side menu if you didn't toggle the 'All Play Modes' switch on the home screen before hitting play, so it's certainly missable, but I suggested that before, so...

Also very weird they excluded Dovin

Edit: I also assume the scene depicted takes place directly after the one on Elite Arrester, which is a nice touch.

And not to forget: it's a dragon wearing a mammoth skull on it's head, so anything else can be forgiven

Still works fine for me too btw.
