I'm not a fan of the original Ravnica artwork, but the duel deck version that was also used in masters sets is not too bad.
This art is the prettiest so far though, but I'm still not sure if I really like the frame...
This is strictly worse mirrorpool (mirrorpool can do instant and sorceries instead if you want and can go in any commander deck rather than restricted to simic)
Can't be strictly worse, this taps for U
that cost limits the decks this card can go in the other can go in any and plus you could go instant/sorcery with the colorless one
I don't really get why you're echoing your initial post here.
This is generally worse than Mirrorpool, yes - but it's not strictly worse. For that term to apply it would need to be just worse in every case and that's obviously not true. In a deck that has very tight mana requirements it may be quite relevant that it produces U and does not need C for the ability.
In any case it is a pretty strong uncommon and the majority of this land cycle seems at least usefull.
I like how they twisted Elvish Visionary into Elvish Doomsayer, giving it a death trigger instead of etb and everyone else losing a card instead of you getting one, while changing the flavor text by just three words.
In general I think going with basic lands for secret lairs makes a lot of sense, since they are a great and popular way to customize decks and a perfect angle to sell special art stuff to those who are willing to pay for it. Also, Bob Ross fits nicely here imo.
The 2 of each part is kinda insulting though. When asking a premium price for basics, at least make it enough for a deck...
Can't make it out exactly, but the legendary ooze seems to get +1/+1 counters whenever creatures with +1/+1 you control die, not quite sure about numbers or how many counters it enters the batlefield with though.
But I'm prety sure it's called "Slurrk, the Omnivore" and costs 5G
The legendary merfolk wizard costs 1UB and I think the name is "Araum, Flood of the Dead".
It seems to have a tap ability without further cost and with a lot of text but I can't figure out what it does...
Wow... they are really crossing a line here... people always used altered cards, so crossover versions of cards are not a problem (as was mentioned above, Zilortha was already pushing that quite a bit, but still kind of acceptable).
But when doing pure crossover cards without a regular version anywhere, those HAVE to be silver bordered...
Am I missing something or is the "and it's your turn" redundant? Since it has no flash and you have to cast it, you couldn't return it on oponents turns anyway. Did they just add it to prevent confusion?
I would have thought she would be a Kor Zombie? She did get thrown off from high by Nahiri in the trailer.
This likely represents her before said cliff throwing. Additionally, given her abilities... it's quite possible she survived the drop? While she was paralyzed initially, you can see her start to move before the trailer cuts out, so she may have been able to save herself from the fall with her climbing equipment.
Since Zareth San, the Trickster seems quite alive and well, I guess we can assume that the trailer isn't necessarily set before everything that is depicted on cards. However, Akiris fate is indeed left ambiguous.

I'd say this setup cost makes it a lot more playable than limiting your options to react to whatever your oponent rebuilds on their turn.
It's after the colon, so part of the effect, not cost

It's probably because I'm german, but Egon has to be among the least "godly" names I can imangine...
Yeah, now we really need a Naya-colored Erik
