I really like this idea, though as a Legacy mono red Burn player I feel like this might make Price of Progress a little too powerful with Shocklands being the only fetchable dual lands in this format.
The mysteries of Innistrad—its peoples, provinces, and monsters—await your arrival. But be careful as you peer into the darkness, for you might find something staring back.
I wonder if this Neitszche reference is meant to foreshadow some kind of void.
Such phrases are so commonplace and cliche at this point I would hardly think they actually mean anything. You're reading too much into it.

By the way, might be a stupid question: are there pump spells that cantrip? I can't recal of any, but that would be great for us. Twisted Image kind of does that, but it's the only option we have.
Twisted Image seems really good with prowess, plus it'll kill a 'skite and cantrip for 1 blue. Nevermind that it also looks pretty.
Not that decent if that causes you to loose in aggressiveness in the early turns. Keeping a hand full of Snapcasters will result in a loss in many MUs when you really need to push it. Additionally, in this deck, Pyromancer actually has more value than Snap.
well I guess you summed up the reason why this deck will never become competitive :/
I think it's just a deck that has a few different directions it can go, depending on which synergies you want to make use of. For example I feel the more reactive version of the deck wants to run more Pyros, where as a proactive build wants to run more prowess creatures instead because of when they play their spells. Snaps should probably never be a 4 of though, especially with so much graveyard hate in modern now.
Reading through this thread I think I've come around to understand these bans, and hopefully some of these will point to certain unbans in the future.
Reading Forsythe's Twitter last night was pretty interesting. He answered some of the questions posed in this thread pretty well in my opinion. He discussed future unbannings, and said they would look hard at unbanning Visions. They just didn't want to make such a huge change by banning two top decks and also unbanning at the same time (which is the right decision). It doesn't sound like he is in favor of unbanning Sword though.
The only way Sword could ever be unbanned is if Thopter Foundry was banned.
When I saw this thread at first I was hopeful that the comment section in gatherer had been fixed.
Me too, I thought they finally fixed it. I personally like seeing the ratings and reading comments on cards. It's embarrassing that a large company like WOTC couldn't have bothered to fix it by now. If I had a company with an error like that I would be filled with shame until it is fixed.
Yeah, you're probably right.

Seriously, it's been a year and a half already.
