This should be implemented in arena instead of historic. Not over night obviously, but gradually coding back to RTR would be possible

Things of Note Teferi and Chandra are the two Planeswalker decks for Dominaria, Chandra's is R/G and Teferi's W/U that doesn't meant the planeswalkers are those colours neccessarily, but they could be.

Also Tezzeret's PW deck for M19 seems to be mono blue. We could be looking at another Tezzeret pre Bolas

The art we got of Tezzeret is definitly not pre Bolas since he already got his tattoo on his forehead wich he got after being defeated by Jace at the end of Agents of Artifice when Bolas took care of him.

I hate the Gatewatch. Like AlabasterLight said it's much lass likelier to have one of its members killed the longer they keep being the protagonists of nearly all stories. The story will lose a lot of suspence until there will be an event like in Marvel's Civil war or members start dieing.
By the way I was so disappointed after wednesday's story for Chandra not killing herself. Until the end the story seemed so good :(.

That... isn't what a "reboot" means at all. A reboot would imply an all-new continuity. Just like Marvel movies don't "reboot" the Cinematic Universe every time they shift to Ant-Man from Captain Marvel, instead just focusing in a different story in the same universe, this wouldn't be a "reboot" as much as it would be a new story focusing on different characters in the same universe.
Is this going to tell the same story from the card game? No, and that's a good thing. The card game storyline is much bigger than what one could fit into a 20 or even 50 minute episode, and trying to cram in 10+ years of story in such a short timespan always disappoints both old-timers (because the story would lose a lot of the nuance and details that made it interesting in the first place) and newcomers (which would have to "learn" 10+ years of story in a very short timespan). This isn't new, every major expanded universe does this, from the aforementioned Marvel to Star Wars.

I could see white being something like Journey into Nyx, and use Gods and Mortals, since Heliod was a major antagonist of that story.

As is often the case most people don't actually know what a Mary Sue is, only that being one is wrong. So let's look at all the reasonable definitions of a Mary Sue.

An idealized seemingly perfect character. You start off with "other than her flaws she's perfect" so it's hard to even start. She doesn't trust others and shouldn't be trusted. This alone is enough to mark off this troupe.

An author insert character. Very much a no as she was created as a troupe, just not this troupe.

An individual whom can perform feats beyond what their background settings imply. Her background settings come equipped with a deus ex that is meant to solve her problems when her normal powers can't. So...no but only on the technicality that they gave her a truly broken background.

Generally the best and loved by all. Nope, not even close. She was heading there but then she messed up with Chandra on Kaladesh and Jace got his memories back. So only Gideon even likes her a little and he is the quintessential "I like and trust everyone" character.

Upstages the protagonist. Again a hard nope. She was saved when she was the protagonist on Innistrad and didnt upstage anyone on Kaladesh or Amonkeht.

Poorly developed character lacking in realism. This is close. But she underwent actual character development in Dominaria and might undergo further in Rav so I'd say no again.

So with Lily failing to meet a single definition of a Mary Sue I find is impossible to agree with the premise that she is in fact a Mary Sue.

As other have noted, why not reuse the PW layout? Why not use the upkeep like the game intended? I'm not a fan of the vertical art. To me, this design is closer to the Kamigawa flip cards. That is: ugly and cramped.

Edit: "As this enters"??? Are they revising templating to shorten them?

Maybe they just want to make MTG language less polished ( and that was a bonus, a good thing that make mtg, in my opinion, better than most games ) ( and that is really sad, i hope that in other languages it is not like that, maybe i pick a spanish version )


I would like to see Sagas in Theros, a viking set, and maybe Kamigawa as a card telling the story of a character.

Abolishing the reserve list would tank the price on alpha and beta cards so hard that we're talking hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of old cards losing over half their value and not abolishing it, but dancing around it could do similar harm. I'm not really sure how it would impact sealed boxes, though. I think investors who invested in antiquities sealed booster boxes are probably safe to a degree.

Edit: Also I did read the tweet. Snow lands are just fun to talk about because ice age rocked.

Actually, they *can* print snow-duals with basic land types and no drawback, because making them snow makes them mechanically different from the originals. Which is all that matters for the RL. This is the same reason that Sky Spirit is perfectly fine, by changing one mana symbol and changing the name they where able to print a card that is shockingly similar to Thunder Spirit because it is mechanically different because of that one mana symbol. The snow supertype changes the mechanics of the mana produced by a snow land, making it mechanically distinct from the same dual without the supertype.

I saw another person with evoke creatures which seems like a smart way to go. You still cast the creature for a lower amount of mana, but its still casting a 5+ creature, you get a sorcery speed effect and you get more experience. The relevant ones are: Ingot Chewer, Glarewielder, Spitebellows & Faultgrinder.
