Each card you steal off the top of your opponent's deck is easily worth drawing two of your own. "Any type" also allows you to cast colorless spells, sometimes even using lands you already stole.
Can't you already look at your own face-down cards any time you have priority? I guess that ability just allows you to look at your face-downs at instant speed. *shrug*
A lot of people will frown on this spell because it is sorcery speed, but it should always be a good way to kill some large creature then get a free clue token.

If I want that effect, I'll just dig out my Lens of Clarity, but it would be more efficient to Fiery Cannonade opponent face-downs.
