I wouldn't use the term "multicolor" even in commander. They have a color identity that is multiple colors, but they'd still be monocolor for any rules purpose (such as a card that targets multicolor creatures) outside of color identity.
I think it would be difficult to place in a product, being an exile effect in Black, of all colors. I know they used to get that kind of thing fairly frequently with the nightmares and horrors, but not anymore.
Despite that, it would be wonderful if they were to reprint it.
Ashes to Ashes ? Seems like it's been in Black's color pie for awhile!
Yeah, she seems busted alright. She is absolutely insane in edh, and shuts down more then a few commanders...
I am just not getting it. How many times are people casting things for free? Which Commanders does she shut down? The main one I can think of is Animar when he makes the creature spells cost 0.
Shouldn't affect Animar. 0 casting cost is still paying the casting cost (which is 0). Narset is a big one that it would affect or anything that lets you "cast a spell without paying its mana cost".
It's a bit strange that he creates a goblin on the turn he comes into play but he himself can't attack to use mentor. You'd think he'd also have haste in that case.
Oh who cares? These are terrible cards that no one would ever play with unless they had to. Most of the unique cards from planeswalker decks might as well be "online" only too, since you'll never seen them except if playing with the sealed decks. Now if they start printing an online only Legendary version of a Mox Sapphire then that might be something to raise an eyebrow over.
Let's assume there are 45 creatures on board. You seperate them into three piles. (a 15 cards)
Pile A is chosen if the dice rolls 1-5, pile B is chosen if dice rolls 6-10, pile C is chosen if dice rolls 11-15. If you roll 16-20, roll again. (You could also take 6-size steps, so A is 1-6, B is 7-12, C is 13-18, 19 and 20 is a new roll)
After you've chosen the pile, seperate it again in 3 piles a 5 cards and repeat.
You will now have 5 potential survivor creatures. Assign creature A 1-4 of the dice roll, creature B 5-8..., creature E 17-20.
The key is to find a working divisor for the piles.
Though, don't ask me what to do if the number of creatures equals a prime nmumber greater than 19.^^
If there's a card representing each creature, I'd probably go straight to "put them in a pile and shuffle it with your eyes closed". Resolves it quickly, and barring people having texturally different sleeves, should be fair across the board.
If they are tokens, you could also just add cards from another unused deck to represent them.
Shuffle a number of plains and one swamp equal to number of creatures, and flip one for each creature, swamp survives?
Provided someone doesn't have a massive number of tokens.
Bring a deck of playing cards instead of basic lands to create a deck with cards = to # of creatures and always include queen of hearts. Whichever creature draws the queen is saved.
Considering it's only in 2% of Teysa decks on EDHREC I don't think Teysa loves it. It works for your opponents, doesn't protect against board wipes, costs a lot and provides no immediate value. It's a pretty awful card imo, no real reason it's so expensive other than "its old and on the reserve list"
