The last line kpaca has already brought to your attention, but it definitely reads like "will you look at this and determine it's how I react as a townie and move on, please?".

The overall impression I get from your posts is that you just want this pressure gone; not that you really want to resolve it.

First comment: The last line is Chris answering a specific question that was asked of him. You are definitely reading too much into it.
Second comment: What would it look like if he was trying to resolve it?

We're 160 posts in. Why do alternatives need to be offered so soon?

If he got a "stupid wagon" read so soon and so easily, it's not unrealistic to expect of him to get a firm read on at least one other player.

    Quote from kpaca
Do you care to make judgements as to the alignment of any of the players, or are you just making a summary of the game for us to read Cool
And here's kpaca doing the same thing DYH did above. Chris was asked a straight question, responded to it, and now his straight answer is being presented as scummy. Why?

On the other hand, I've not been liking Alx. I was a bit wary of his last post, and his most recent one is even worse.

So, this brings me to the question "what would scums do"? In the face of this wagon, they would probably be split between (a) trying to get on without really understanding the reasons, and (b) belittling the wagon without offering alternatives.

    Skander and Shadow Knight!?

I don't see how this can possibly be good analysis--rather than looking at the two current wagons and trying to find out if they are scummy or not, he's taking them and looking for reasons he can make them out to be scummy--not to mention he's sitting on the fence by laying suspicion on both of the town's suspects.
First, neither Skander nor SK are the top suspect (or at least have been at the time, I see Skander is now tied with Chris).
Second, I did look at the top wagon. And I did "try to find out if he's scummy". Which is in a part of my post not shown here because you left it out of your quote.

The problem about being able to post only once per day is coming to the thread and seeing all the good points were already made.

Chris' reaction to the initial accusation was somewhat panicked, and that's the only thing that can be legitimately held against him. But, apparently, that's normal for him. So with respect to Chris, I'm back to square one. Not sure, but given the speed of the wagon would be willing to err on the side of town.

So, this brings me to the question "what would scums do"? In the face of this wagon, they would probably be split between (a) trying to get on without really understanding the reasons, and (b) belittling the wagon without offering alternatives.

    Skander and Shadow Knight!?

In unrelated news, Niv is town. He's 100% posting like town-Niv.

First off, I have been a long-time reader of this forum but have never posted anything until now. So what would make me begin now? I have seen a lot of good advice here, and I am in need of some. Let me set the stage for my dilemma:
I am a girl (22 y/o) and I have been dating the same guy (23 y/o) for 2 years. For this purpose we shall call him "Jason". I met Jason in my first year of high school (about 6 1/2 years ago) because his sister (let's call her "Amanda") is my best friend. I did not have a very stable home life, so I spent most of my time at their grandmother's house (where A&J lived). Jason had a crush on me from day one, and though we became good friends I wasn't attracted to him at all. He has still always said that one day he would be with me. I had several boyfriends in high school and Jason was always very depressed whenever I was dating. Towards the end of my junior year we were partying more, and a couple of times when I was quite drunk I let him go down on me. We never discussed it, and after that school year I moved about an hour away. I saw Amanda once or twice that year, but I didn't even talk to Jason at all. It just so happened that we had both recently moved to the same town and were in need of roommates. Naturally, we moved in together. At this point Jason had still never had a girlfriend, and I had recently gotten out of my first serious relationship, from which I have a son. On top of that, a few days before we moved in together I had been (rather brutally) rejected by a guy I really liked. So for the first 2 months everything was fine, except that Jason still maintained that we would be together and the other guy was still rejecting me. Then one night I got depressed and lonely and started messing around with Jason. We continued doing this on a regular basis under the understanding that we were still just friends and would not be getting together. After 2 months of this Jason began trying to convince me, nearly everyday, that we should be together. After 2 months of listening to this, feeling sorry for him, and being depressed & lonely, I gave in and told him we could give it a try. That was very nearly 2 years ago. In that time we have grown much closer, but I still am not very attracted to him and while I have love for him I certainly don't love him in the way he wants me to. I know he loves me unconditionally. He is very good to me and my son, I suppose this is the main reason I have stayed with him. Around this time last year I became unemployed (in part due to the contracting economy) and have been unable to find anything else that will work out. He has been supporting me and my son for a year. I feel horrified at the thought that I am just using him, I am not a selfish person. Yet he is genuinely happy and recently asked me to marry him. I said yes, but I am not sure...
This is where we (finally) come to my problem:
I feel trapped. One of us is going to be miserable for the rest of their life. I don't really want it to be me, but I don't think I can break his heart. After all he has done for me (and my son), and because I love him like family, I think it would be wrong of me to abandon him. What do you think?
Seems like your life is a long list of things not working out the way they should. Seems like you've gotten so used to it that the option of spending your life with someone who truly loves you is horrifying to you.

So go ahead. Walk away. Hook up with yet another man who doesn't really care about you and will dump you sooner than later. Another bad job, another rejection. It's your destiny. Get out there and face it.

Or, alternatively, you could have a long sit down with yourself, and possibly a therapist, and find out why does it have to be so? Why do you embrace failure and rejection with such zest, and why are you so afraid to love and be loved. You need to figure this out. Not for Jason, but for yourself.

One of us is going to be miserable for the rest of their life. I don't really want it to be me, but I don't think I can break his heart.
False dilemma. You will be miserable for the rest of your life (and drag down anyone around you) unless you work out the issues you have. If you honestly think breaking his heart is what will save you from misery, take a good hard look at your last 22 years and how you got there.

OMG, this let me make sure I spellcheck. Should be rename this grammar nazi mafia? He said something in a non-confrontational way. He did? Scumzors!!
Where exactly do grammar and spelling fit there? You seem to be deliberately downplaying the attack on Chris.

    unvote, vote Shadow Knight

Chris: thanks for posting a list of past games, but I don't really want to read through them all. Can you please narrow it down to an incident where you were attacked for less-than-convincing reasons.

Intersting. A seemingly-baseless vote by PM, and Chris immediately assumes it's serious and goes on the defensive.

I think it's strange to be attacked because of noticing that the mod didn't write my name correctly."

The initial vote was strange for sure. But not stranger than most other votes handed out in this thread for the last day. You, however, assume it's an attack. Why? Give me a good answer, or I'll vote you for real.

Also, PM: I believe I know what the 3rd thing is. What do I win?

I'm not sure how you're making an assumption he's making an assumption. I believe he was asking a question. One I wouldn't mind answered, btw.

There's only one way to deal with this: confront him with the evidence. If he tries to deflect the issue to racism, ignore this attempt and reiterate the evidence, until he either responds to it or you become convinced he has no good response.

If your type of movie is 'Crank', then the 'Watches' ate quite slow and boring.
I'm not sure about that. The last 1/3rd of Day Watch is probably the most fast-paced and exhillarating piece of cinema I ever saw, 'Crank' included. And the first 2/3rds aren't bad either.

Second the recommendations for The Return and Night/Day Watch. Potemkin is of course a perennial classic. Other great films:

Inhabited Island (Obytaemij Ostrov) - a recent sci-fi movie, based on a classic 70's novel. Excellent production values, very true to the book, special effects are Hollywood-standard, if not above.
Mongol (strictly speaking, not a Russian film, since not a word of Russian is spoken on-screen, but a Russian director and production)
9th Company - If Afganistan was Russia's Vietnam, then this is Russia's Full Metal Jacket.
Irony of Fate (Ironiya Sudby) - a classic romantic comedy, probably the most popular film of the Soviet era. A bit slow and tiresome by 21st century standards.
Brother (Brat) - a gritty crime drama.
Finally, if you seek realistic drama with no special effects, it doesn't get much better than Moscow doesn't Believe in Tears and Burned by the Sun.

Written in 1938, and still touches the same issues America is struggling with today, as if nothing changed:
Our newest hitchhiker climbed into the car, put his suitcase in his lap, and, upon being asked who he is and where he's going, started telling his life story. He's from Massachusets. Worked as a mechanic all his life. Five years ago moved, lost his job, and his old life ended and a new one began. Always on the move, looking for work. Crossed the country from coast to coast many times, but didn't find a job. Sometime he hitchhikes, sometimes travels in freight boxcars.
    ...
Obviously, he thinks the social order needs to be changed. So what should be done? Rich people should have their money taken away from them! He angrily pounded his fist on the back of the seat and repeated - yes, take the money! Take all of it and leave them with five millions! Give all the unemployed a piece of land to grow their bread on, and to them leave only five millions each. We asked, maybe five millions is a bit too much? But he was firm - five millions and not a cent less. And who will pry those millions from the rich folks' hands? Roosevelt will! If he gets reelected, he'll do it, no doubt! And what if the Congress won't allow it, we asked? No, the Congress has to allow it, it's the right thing to do! To him, it was all clear.
    ...
When we dropped our hitchhiker off in Flagstaff and turned to the Grand Canyon, Mr. Adams said, "Why do you think this miserable man wants to leave the rich people with five million dollars? You don't know? Well, I'll tell you why. Deep down inside he's still hoping to become a millionaire himself. American education is a dreadful thing, sirs."
