One of the nearly auto includes in any EDH deck. This card stops all but untargetable creature damage in combat.
Main Usage in EDH
Combat damage prevention, repeatable combat damage prevenation from a land source is very very strong, espeacially this card requires no other resources barring it self. This card can be effictive from turn one onwards. Often direct general kill via combat will stop with this in its tracks. Also this card can protect player's own creature from combat tricks such as pump spells.
Deck Type Notes
This card should be a staple in any EDH deck.
Combos
This card can combo with spell and abilities that untaps lands. Deserted Temple, Arbor Elf are such cards.
Low Budget Substitute
For white decks there is Kor Heaven for similar effects. While the cost is prohibitive Glacial Chasm is another land that prevents combat damage.
One of the game ended with only me who is playing Hana (got killed 5 times and not gonna get cast for a few turns yet) against Karnas my opperent's general.
On his turn he generate about 30 mana from Doubling Cube and Mana producers (Urn and Latterce) and proceed to play his hand (more mana producers) and Karn, and used Karn's ability to put me on less then 10.
He pass back to me and I topdecked Mindslaver, I slavered him and on his turn, he topdecked Skyship Weatherlight which I proceeded to cast removing all artifacts from his deck, using Weatherlight to grabed the Relic of Progenitus and used Karn's ability and High Market to sac Weatherlight and removed all graveyard from the game. Then used Deserted Temple to untapped High Market and saced Karn and lefted it in the graveyard.
After the turn I lefted him without any artifacts in his deck or graveyard and the general in his grave. I gotta say that one of strangest EDH wins I had for a while.
Ravager is another very cheap option. There also seems to be some in my local meta. Merfolk is the best option if you go for aggro controlish decks and is the most consistent out of the 3 you suggested. No idea if this is just me or not I want seen a large surge in grave hate due to the recent raise in reanimator.
Is Devastating Dreams justifiable in a thresh heavy meta, 2 mana is an iffy number given then additional cost to dreams. What are people's thoughts on this...
I'm heading to Honolulu on Friday, I'm wondering where is a good place to buy product or singles and have tourney to play in and/or get some testing done?
I know my play group will by insane amount of the product of M10 for AUS nats, still I'm not that worried, as long as enough gets spoiled for us to have time to prepare.
Too bad through on the turn part, if thats is a CITP effect then its sooo broken.
Edit: with the number of counters, they would all get 5 counters?

Currently I'm digging my P3K boxes for good things for cube and have no idea what is good barring the highly priced cards...
