Keep in mind, Bolas is strictly interested in a 4/4 army for some reason. Ones that die to a single Languish.

Solid card all around but did it really need to be a mythic rare?

Thanks. It's an excellent fit for my EDH deck so it might still be worth buying.

Beautiful! Any idea how much this one's going to cost? $50? Always wanted to get one, this might give me the push needed.

Pay 2 life AND sac a creature? Looks like Wizards didn't want another Griselbrand in the game.

Funny how an indestructible god can be defeated by one without indestructible. I guess, The Scorpion God put -1/-1 counters on Rhonas until he died.
We now know that Bolas can to Amonkhet 60 years ago so right after the mending? Before fighting Ajani in Alara?

TBH, this card makes wanna go with the UB control variation. Ditch cards like Visions of Beyond and all white cards for more reactive cards.
I'm leaning towards something like this:

Obviously, it's not tested and I can't say it will perform better than other variants but Fraying Sanity feels like it would be better suited for late mill strategies.

Unfortunately, Wizards are very cautious about giving mill powerful tools because no one likes seeing their deck getting milled, Wizards probably rates mill strategies as less interactive than draw-go which why we often get mediocre tools. If this was 2 mana, it would've been much more playable. Sill, it is worth trying out.

We just got a new toy to test out.

    Fraying Sanity 2U
    Enchantment Aura curse
    Enchant player
At the beginning of each end step, enchanted player puts the top X cards of his or her library into his or her graveyard, where X is the total number of cards put into his or her graveyard this turn.

Anyone think this could make the cut. 3 mana passive enchantment, kinda similar to Sphinx's Tutelage but synergizes with milling effects more.
turn 3 this into turn 4 glimpse gives us 20 cards.

    5. More specifically, Jace is going to end up on Ixalan as a "castaway." I suspect Bolas will "mindsculpt" him, and he might forget who he is.

Or maybe, he ends up remembering who he really is.

Hmm, so it's that low on TCGplayer already. Thanks. Smile
Well, bought almost all my expensive cards from SCG in the past years .. so it became a habit to check them out first. They're a big name in the mtg community, so I'm sure they can be trusted.

Anyway, about the scam that happened here in my country... as far as I know, the fakes were all regular cards, no foils. The scammer put the fake scalding tarns in double sleeve before handing them to the victim / buyer. The fake cards were well made, and since they were sleeved, the buyer did not notice that he was being given fakes. Before that, there was a similar incident which involves the original duals that are also fake. So for now, I'm not buying anything expensive here - will just order what I need online.

I'm sad to think of how much you've overspent buying exclusively from scg. Their prices are generally considered the max of a cards value. There are tons of reputable sources available to get cards, even highly sought ones, for 10-20% less.

I agree. I don't deal with SCG at all and never have. I admit I do like Card Kingdom out of Washington state. They are rocket fast and have GREAT customer service. If you shop around on certain lesser demand cards you can get good buy prices. As with others a lot of the in demand cards are overpriced. You need to be a picky buyer. I also purchase quite a bit over ebay but only from members with at least 30 or so feedback scores and with usually 99-100% positive feedback. And there are big name dealers on ebay that I won't touch as they are slow and have poor shipping practices. (If you want to know PM me and I'll let you know who they are.) I'm not selling right now so I can't comment on that. But if you are a buyer/collector. Use your head, be patient and shop around. You will find what you want at a fair price. Also remember the absolute cheapest price may not be the BEST for you depending on the seller. If the offer sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

My experience has taught me that SCG isn't always the worst place to buy from, in fact, sometimes I found SCG to be the least expensive. I tend to buy from eBay, Card Kingdom, Channel Fireball, SCG, and TCG, and I almost always check all of them before committing to a purchase. You'd be surprised how many cards are lower at SCG especially foils, though I'll admit that, in general, SCG tends to be the most expensive. I do, however, like SCG card quality/condition as their SP cards can sometimes be in better shape than other etailers' NM. Keep in mind this is just my experience and I've never had any problems with any of the stores, except for a couple of Inkmoth Nexus's from Card Kingdom which looked fake but turned out to be from the event pack.

And we have Dominaria right before that, woot, surely a return to the old time!

Will we have phasing and banding?

I doubt either is ever coming back, but who knows. Both seem to complicated for new players.

I'm really looking forward to this core set. Hopefully, modern gets a few tools out of it.

Eternalize: Put an Eternity counter on this card. As long as this card has an Eternity counter on it, it can't leave the battlefield.

Comparing this to Sacred Cat's Embalm (2 mana 1/1 return from graveyard once) and Fleecemane Lion's Monstrosity 1 (7 mana 4/4 Indestructible and Hexproof), I can see 7 mana for a perma 1/1 as a viable mechanic, given how large of an investment it is. I sure hope it's not pay 5 to return a 1/1 from your graveyard to your hand.

This quote is of high interest for the foreseeable future:

To that end, we considered several weird or off-the-wall options. We discussed something we called "pair banning," where two cards could not be played in the same deck but could be played separately, a tactic other TCGs have employed. We looked at making other cards legal for Standard that otherwise wouldn't be, like Pithing Needle and Duress. We looked at restricting and even functional errata. Ultimately, these created more problems than they solved for this particular issue, and while we might keep exploring newer options in the future, for now we're sticking with our tried-and-true solution, even though we, like you, would rather it not come to this again.

It shows they DO want to think outside of the box, should be interesting to see if it actually gets employed.

I'm guessing these 2 cards are in the new core set.
