If I exile a card with Azor's Gateway, then I cannot retrieve it with Mastermind's Acquisition, correct? Also, I can use Acquisition's 2nd ability to retrieve a card from my sideboard, correct?
Right now there are only 2 cards that I would have to change to make this list rotation proof and still budget: Chandra, Torch of Defiance and Akoum Firebird
Thankfully these are in the sideboard, and as this is a budget list, there is no way in hell that I am going to pay 50$ for 2 planeswalker cards, just ain't happening, the other problem is the firebird, it is okay, i guess, but it will rotate very soon.
So, basically Frontier Energy without Temur Battle Rage or Become Immense? I'm digging it.
I pondered putting similar spells in, but the weren't really needed I found. Samut giving Voltaic Brawler Double Strike then paying the energy for +1/+1 and Trample did good.
I thought of adding black in the form of Ammit Eternal, but worried adding Blooming Marsh MAY upset the land balance.
The decks I played against weren't homebrews or bad players. I actually didn't expect to beat half of them with what I played (check it out in link above).
My 3rd place Game Day decklist. Beat UR control, Vehicles, Mono Black Zombies and some oddity deck. I'm not sure about the Bloodrages, but they help Hazoret get out there.
Would anyone mind going over their sideboard strategies? I just got back into MtG after a very long while and am struggling with what to side out in most of my matchups.
I am posting my list below, but it's still being heavily tested and will be seeing frequent changes. I'm not really looking for specific advice on how I should sideboard my list, but more for general UR Control strategies. What do you try and side out for RDW? GB Energy? Temur Energy? UW Monument?
I keep finding myself wanting to cut Censor in anything that isn't a control matchup, but I feel that has to be wrong.
Random experiment, but I have tried Nimble Obstructionist in place of Disallow. Has the same ability-in a sense, and can be a 3/1 flyer flashed if needed
