The thought occurred to me to design a card to commemorate the change in ownership of the site while exploring new design space in the process.

If all players other than you have no cards in hand and there are no nonland permanents on the battlefield, the game is a draw. "This war is over. Let us all put these days of bloodshed behind us, and see what the future brings." - Huatli
This is literally just a sorcery speed Vampiric Tutor in modern Lantern Control. Just mill whatever they grab with your Codex Shredder, tutor for the best spell against their deck.
I feel like running blue is a trap. Marit Lage's Slumber is too slow, and Ice-Fang Coatl isn't worth it. Dead of Winter, however, is a three mana one-sided board wipe if you're running mainly snow threats. Here's my take:
This is interesting design space for red, another form of temporary ramp besides rituals. Funnily enough, I actually designed a similar card a few months back that instead acts as temporary land destruction:
Goblin Squatter1RR Creature - Goblin
When Goblin Squatter enters the battlefield, exile target land until Goblin Squatter leaves the battlefield.
Goblin Squatter attacks each turn if able.

From the list, Snuff Out and Gempalm Incinerator stick out to me as the most likely to be in the set. The latter works with both the goblin and cycling themes, while the former is probably safer than Dismember since you need to be running black to cast it.
Well, I'm not sure what to think right now. Message boards like MTGS were always a big part of my childhood, and I really hate having to give them up because places like Reddit aren't the same. The anonymity, the upvote structure — it all leads to a place where the written word is disposable, and where popular ideas completely overshadow unconventional or contrarian ones.
Something I've always valued in message boards is that, while writers have always been free to dump their thoughts in a careless manner, the mechanics of message boards don't encourage it to the extent social media does. People like me will just spend their time meticulously crafting their posts in such a way that their ideas are shared with as much clarity and refinement as possible. I don't know why that is exactly. All I know is that the overall format here is just better for having conversations.
And that's what I think I'm ultimately afraid of losing. I'm afraid I'll lose the ability to have meaningful conversations with people about Commander and about Magic: the Gathering at large. Nothing is ever going to beat a face to face conversation with someone, but there's only so many people I can reach due to physical distance. The Internet, and message boards specifically, have always been the next best place to go.
Agreed 100%. I've always disliked social media, with its oft impersonal nature, and chatrooms, for their focus on dialogue speed over eloquence. For me, forums like this one have been the perfect place to share my ideas and learn about others'. Before I got into MTGSalvation, and Magic in general, I was a moderator at one of the smaller Pokémon forums, called Psypokes, which still exists but had basically died off years ago due to a lack of visitors. Such is a fickle nature of a fast-changing internet. Hopefully enough of us will migrate to the new site that it avoids that fate, and keeps going strong for years to come.

4 Phyrexian Soulgorger
4 Ohran Viper
4 Lingering Souls
4 Bloodghast
4 On Thin Ice
4 Dead of Winter
4 Coldsteel Heart
4 Arcum's Astrolabe
17 Other Lands
The idea is to be a midrange deck that first ramps for a bit, then shreds the opponent's threats with Dead of Winter and punches them to death with Phyrexian Soulgorger before they can recover. Glacial Revelation mills all non-snow stuff, including Lingering Souls and Bloodghast as fuel for the Soulgorger.
