flutterguy, you are correct in your assumptions. Cloudskate only counts when in play, so turn 5+, Phantasmal Image copies everything about the creature it copies, including CMC, so it will lose the one U for Devotion purposes.
Steam Augury seems like a sweet one. But in 5 drafts so far, it has only been main decked once. This might speak to a bigger problem of Izzet not having a real identity in my cube. Izzet has CounterBurn and value cards and kind of shows up in Grixis congrol. Is Steam Augury splashable? Is it even enough value to splash?
wtwlf123, i hear what you are saying about Tog, and maybe it's because my playgroup is a bit new, but for a year of cube drafts, about 3 a month, he basically never got main decked. I wasn't pushing reanimator as hard as i am now, which might be the reason, but no player ever really tried him out. Finally cut him for Duskmantle Seer when i started pushing blue tempo.
As for Ashiok, i ran it in a UB artifacts deck for value and it was sweet the couple of games i got it down. Similar experience as TorontoJock, everyone wanted to see what was getting exiled. Fun factor is really high on this one.
I'm looking for a deck on the low cost end for Game Day, since i don't play much standard. I have a bunch of the expensive cards for this already from Modern and EDH. I'm wondering if you have made any changes since your Sunday list? Did you decide on 2 Bow of Nylea over the Giant Growth's?
I have had Angel in my cube since its inception and have yet to see anyone hard cast it. Not many W/B control builds or those that get WWBB. So based on your comments wtwlf I will be making the swap for reanimation.
Where does this guy sit for people these days? I have this guy, survival of the fittest, fauna shaman, and lotleth troll to put dudes into the graveyard. Is that something green even needs to do these days? Would you be running him in a cube that pushes ramp and not much aggro?
