Well, it's the players' own damn fault with Goblin Guide. They *****ed when it "wasted" a rare slot in an event deck. They *****ed when it "wasted" the Grand Prix promo. It was under $5 when they were printing it all the time. Now, it's expensive and people ***** about it not getting a reprint. It's honestly hard to have any sympathy for a lot of the price whiners because they whine when cards are cheap and get a reprint and then whine when good cards go up in price and don't get reprinted. Wizards can't make it so each person simultaneously has all the good cards and can then sell them for high prices. Either everyone has it or it's expensive. It's about as eye rolling as all the *****ing about the expidition lands. Wizards was the devil for including an extra bonus cherry on top of a few of the sundaes they sold just like when they did the Helvault. They didn't have to give out any bonus ***** at all but everyone got free stuff and a few people got even sweeter free stuff. Sure, some of the stuff was better than others, but they didn't charge anyone extra for any of it or the free heros, the dragon game, or any of that. That's how we lost prerelease mythics and cool extras because people had to be unreasonable. I wish people would treat Wizards fairly because as far as I can tell, they do their best at the impossible goal of pleasing all the people all the time.Quote from Crimson »Card is a flavor homerun. Probably means this is our only 1CMC red mythic (sorry GG) though. -

"People ask me, sometimes, how much of our playtesting do we spend testing Modern. The answer is…well, none; at least not directly. Kind-of some, but not really. Almost all of our playtesting is either Limited or Standard, but because all of our Modern cards have to go through Standard, we have a pretty good picture of how good they will be in Modern."
Wizards is very clear that the extent to which they develop toward Modern is "hope for the best, ban the rest". I assume that Stoddard doesn't really believe that Standard playtesting in any way represents how a card will be used in Modern, because that would be absurd. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

However, traditional Chinese translations are known to be bit...fickle. So I am not entirely sure about his name. Everything else is OK tho.

I would sideboard it for grindy decks, but we already are pretty good against these decks.

Can confirm that authority of the consulate is the name for the card, since all Chinese cards have the same translations for the same English words.
Can also confirm that the source is legit, since it comes from the official Weibo account of Wizards China.
The flavor text says, "citizens are entitled to freedom within the laws of the Consulate".

The Flavor text says, "The 'rebels' come up with many ways to evade the ether regulation imposed by the consul,"
Something like that.

You still get a clue, because that triggered ability does not care about the creature; even if the creature is dead, it resolves.
