they are playing white for renegade rallier maindeck and lingering souls, kataki, ranger of eos sideboard

the stream comes back in an hour or so i think, but you can check the past videos in the "magic" channel at twitch, the deck was on camera a lot of times

sam black and gerry thompson went 9-0 on day one of gp vancouver with the new version! some more pros on the scg an the gp are also playing the deck. the deck will have a lot more exposure and thats somewhat bad for the people that are playing it but we will know about new techs and read some articles, so theres that

im also interested in the new version, played a ton of shadow zoo but without probe its not the same. this shadow jund version its as powerfull as shadow zoo used to be but in another direction. i have been playing the deck since last month and its great, also the magic online results speak for themselves, very few people play it and the same names keep appearing in the 5-0 lists

right now im moving away from rampager and battle rage because theres midrange//control everywhere and its not the card you want against those kind of decks

havent tryed whispers yet, but since we get to delirium turn 3 prety easly i can see it being great. i wanted to try rise//fall first since it wasnt clear to me if it was better. but thinking about it its not very good, if they have 4 cards in hand and one of them is a land you have a 50% chance of dicarding 2 cards, and thats to low for such a common scenario

in regards to value cards in the sideboard im playing 2 bitterblossom, 2 liliana the last hope and 1 bedlam reveler

the first 2 are mostly against lingering souls, but you can also use them in a lot of situations, the deck has few big creatures so its weak against swarm strategies like affinity, elves, lingering souls, etc. these 2 cards are great against those and also great vs removal decks, infect etc. also bitterblossom attacks from a very different angle than goyf and shadow and thats great vs answers decks, but it is indeed slow so i wouldnt consider it a lock

i did not have many problems casting reveler, you put him in against slow decks and want to cast him empty handed and by that time the graveyard should have 5-6 spells, but i might have been lucky without noticing

tested a bit with the mono blue version

inspiring statuary its the best card in the deck, wouldnt play less than 4 with 4 anticiate and 4 crane to help find it and casting it on curve. it allows you to start comboing off with paradoxical outcome and go below 4 mana with no fear of not being able to cast the reservoir because you can cheat it with barals expertise. it enables a lot of turn 4 and 5 kills

i played it 2 times and did 3-1 both of them, losing agaisnt 8rack and esper control

there are also 2 copies of the deck at the recent mocs top8, i think its very real. for those still doubtfull, the deck definately has the same vibe of the old version, you change the small creatures for interaction but if you liked the death shadow zoo deck you will like the new version too

im playing with 1 bedlam reveler in the side, and its great vs grindy matchups

i like collective brutality a lot but i think its a bit weak in the main so i moved them to the side and in order to maintain the sorcery count for delirium im trying rise//fall and whispers of emrakul, so far ive casted fall 4 times and only once discarded 2 cards

hi, im interested in playing this archetype

is this mono blue version better than the one with the white splash?

the creatures add a lot value

also the blue expertise can act as a mini paradoxical outcome that cheats the reservoir or an engulf

yeah when i said to play sunblade (im not playing it at the moment) i meant in addition to the 12 we are already playing. (im playing the same main as you but 4 bolt, 4 rampager, 2 atarka for the reasons i mentioned)

call me crazy but i dont like the command, i see it as bushwhackers 5-6

rampager solves problems. they loose a creature, you save one of yours and does extra damage. but maybe its because of my meta, if i had to play a lot against non interactive decks i probably would like atarka's command more

i can see cutting bolt or atarka since that improves the number of explosive hands

if you want to max the mana on the 8 BTEs you can even play sunblade elf since we usualy play nacatl/experiment turn 1 and end up not using the green mana, also the 8 BTEs add 12 green and 4 red so you need way more green 1 mana cards than red ones

but i dont see RR bushwkacker being better than atarka

    why rampager got cut?

i think its great against blockers

against a goyf for example, atarka deals more damage now but then on your next turn you do less damage since the goyf is still there and you lost a creature. with rampager you still do extra damage the turn you cast it, although less than atarka but you do more damage next turn since the goyf is gone and you didnt lost a creature

i made the example with goyf, but the same applies against a lot of creatures

i would play 4 bolts, 4 rampagers and 2 atarka since we are already playing bushwhackers and 6 go wide pumpers (10 total) its enough to close games

i don't think liliana is necessary, the most recent lists play it but the deck did well before without them

goyf on the other hand i think its better than grim flayer (in this deck goyf is huge), but flayer is a good replacement

made 3-1 in a local tournament with the traverse version

    2-1 vs bogles
    2-1 vs amulet
    0-2 vs 8rack
    2-1 vs jund

the amulet and 8rack rounds were veeery close, could have won or lost both of them very easly
vs bogles i did the jund thing, discard, decay and liliana with a big beater
vs jund i went under him, we traded 1x1 but since my cards cost less mana he couldnt keep up with the board

overall im very happy with the deck, has the same feeling of the old version but less zoo and more jund

    https://www.mtggoldfish.com/archetype/modern-death-s-shadow-aggro-32571#online

they are all categorized as death shadow aggro but all of those lists are on the 4 traverse, 8 creatures, no become immense plan

    just a clarification

the average dredging number its not relevant since you dont choose wich card to dredge at random, if you can dredge troll and loam the average its 4,5 but will choose to dredge troll way more than 50% of the time

its crazy that dredge might be a better deck now since there is a lot less hate, and the one that remains its generic graveyard hate, no more ravenous traps. although we might need more abrupt decays for those cages

what do you think about dropping the steam vents?
