I'm not an expert, obviously, given that I created the thread, but you can replace the Shard Volleys with Price of Progress.
Also Eidolon of the Great Revel together with Flame Rift is not a very good idea, as it will deal 6 damage to you and 4 damage to the opponent. Maybe run another creature instead of Flame Rift.
Most important question, do you think Legacy Burn can be competitive missing Goblin Guide?
I can get Eidolon and Chain Lightning soon, but Goblin Guide will be a big budget problem for me, it's more expensive where I live than in the U.S. I think.
It's an easy fix, really. Take out the Spark Elementals and add in Keldon Marauders, who are guaranteed damage that can also save your life total from bigger creatures, like goyf. He's the OG that people used to play before swiftspear and eidolon came around.
What do you guys think about this Goblin Guide-less (due to financial problems) mono-red burn deck project?
No sideboard ideas ATM apart from a few cards...
In which format is Burn more competitive: Legacy or Modern?
I have decided to build on my burn deck and have yet to decide which direction to take, Legacy Burn or Modern Burn. It's a big question for me right now.
Thanks to everyone for the responses and alternatives, now I have like 6-7 alternatives for 3-4 spots of creatures and many alternatives for spells too, that's even more than I expected.
Monoblack devotion seems to be pretty fun to play. I'm researching its cards etc and there is a way to build a budget friendly base deck and slowly add stronger cards as money allows.
But is it competitive in modern? At least in local FNMs?
ah, r00dris, if Dark Ritual was Modern-legal, I would advocate 4 of in every deck. Any deck
Maybe use those three slots for a Despise + 2x Sign in Blood, to help your discard and draw suite? Or a 23rd land, and alter your Victim/Throat numbers to add Sign in Blood?
Wow, what a noobie mistake! And thanks, I didn't know about Despise, still learning about discard and its alternatives, neither did I know about Sign in Blood. I could make space for both of them, run like 3 Duress and 3 Despise.
Do you think that a deck like this (in its budget form) can be competitive in a small Modern local FNM?
Hey guys. Do you think that a budget version of this deck without black splashing could work? Which white spell or creature could be put in the place of Zealous Persecution (which is on the OP)? Maybe Brave The Elements?
If you have suggestions of something different from the OP, so that I could have some more budget ideas to work with, I'd be extremely thankful!
(I'm new into Modern and don't wanna run Burn again, so this seems like an appropriate budget deck for me)

Thanks! But do you also have an idea of what to take out when I get my Eidolons, Chain Lightnings and Grim Lavamancers?
I will probably buy each playset per month in the future.
I can add maybe Eidolon of The Great Revel, Chain Lightning and Grim Lavamancer in the future, but I'd like suggestions on how to make it competitive without Goblin Guide.
This is my current deck.
Thanks!
4 Monastery Swiftspear
4 Hellspark Elemental
3 Spark Elemental
Other Spells (30)
2 Sulfuric Vortex
2 Searing Blood
3 Searing Blaze
3 Exquisite Firecraft
4 Price of Progress
4 Lava Spike
4 Rift Bolt
4 Lightning Bolt
4 Fireblast
19 Mountain

4x Monastery Swiftspear
4x Hellspark Elemental (4x Eidolon in the near future)
2x Grim Lavamancer
Other Spells (30)
4x Lightning Bolt
4x Lava Spike
4x Rift Bolt
4x Searing Blaze
4x Searing Blood
4x Skullcrack
4x Exquisite Firecraft
2x Shard volley
20 Mountain

Also do you think Eidolon will increase in value as Goblin Guide did? In that case it might be a good investment.
4 Figure of Destiny
4 Monastery Swiftspear
4 Hellspark Elemental
4 Keldon Marauders / Hell's Thunder
Other Spells (24)
2 Searing Blaze / Sulfuric Vortex
3 Searing Blood
3 Price of Progress
4 Lava Spike
4 Rift Bolt
4 Lightning Bolt
4 Fireblast
2 Teetering Peaks
18 Mountain
3 Smash to Smithereens
3 Volcanic Fallout
That means I can't run Chain Lightning and Goblin Guide due to money restrictions.
Any suggestions to replace those 2 cards?
I will hardly have money for Eidolon of The Great Revel either.

Please let me know what you think of this first budget deck idea that I had.
4 Gatekeeper of Malakir
4 Vampire Nighthawk
4 Geralf's Messenger
4 Gray Merchant of Asphodel
3 Phyrexian Arena
4 Victim of Night
4 Go For The Throat
4 Duress
20 Swamp
