Basically, what are all the reprints and new cards that have been printed in old border? I have tried to collect all the old borders I can for my Cube.
3 MV for a 1/1 that might generate small value afterwards is pretty bad. The ramping-equal-to-power side is also mostly irrelevant. I'd rather run Rishkar, Peema Renegade in that slot. I'm still running it in my Cube, but considering on cutting it soon.
When reviewing my Gruul section, I noticed that most people run Ghor-Clan Rampager.
What's the deal here? What am I missing? I have Bannerhide Krushok in the creature-that-is-also-a-combat-trick slot. And Rampager seems unexciting for a gold card. Maybe I'm misjudging it, who knows. I think it has a little inertia from the past, since it has been one of the staples of gruul for a long time.
I have the same feeling for Psychatog, I love Toothy, but Dimir is packed nowadays. They are still in my cube, but .... maybe getting cut soonish.
For the sake of your sanity, I've unchecked the "Create Blog Post" checkbox and my small changes (like art change, edition and maybeboard changes) won't appear anymore. I'll try to mark my updates as "October Cube Update" or (in the future) "Ixalan Cube Update".
The job you are doing here is amazing. I will repeat this every year. You must know that I visit the "MTGS Average Cube 2023" once every 1 or 2 weeks. It's been a great tool for making decisions when I'm doubting what to cut or add. If there is anything I can help you with, please let me know and I'll be happy to help from this side of the world.
Aside from all the positive things that come from this work, I believe there is a small risk of making all the Cubes "homogeneous" in some way, if everyone is adding the top cards to their Cubes. But I think we have the maturity here to understand that each of us is responsible for their own Cube environment and shouldn't take the Average Cube list as a MUST DO. On the other hand, adding additional non-MTGS Cubes might mitigate this, and help downsize the "echo-chamber" that we might have hear. So, if you are willing to explore other Cubes, I'm onboard with them being added to it (of course, as long as you don't lose valuable time of your life... altough I get the idea that you really enjoy doing this, ha!)
Echewing the rarity restriction on lands is one of the most beneficial things I've ever done to my cube. I strongly recommend it. If anything, it lets you talk to me on more familiar grounds haha
One of my biggest hopes for Peasant cube is a compleation of the Bi-Cycle Rare Amonkhet lands (Sheltered Thicket) and a downshift of them. I mean we have Triomes at rare, it wouldn't be THAT crazy to have those at uncommon in a supplemental or masters set. If they were to complete the cycle and NOT downshift them, I would absolutely still add them to my cube. My only Peasant break nowadays are the Painlands (Adarkar Wastes), and I've been happy with that decision.
I'm just not feeling the flavor, art, lore, cross-over here.
The recently added Eomer is side by side with the Monstrosaur now, and having this weird looking guy that is almost the same as the Dinosaur doesn't make me tick.
I'm pretty reluctant to adding UB cards, as I've said in the past. LotR I was fine with, because it is OG Fantasy. But sci-fi space fantasy is not the kind of thing that I like. (I did add the Necron and the Sicarian Infiltrator doe, because they are cool and different)
Cool to see that you guys are indeed enjoying it, so that is fine by me.
In reality, what is going to happen is that you'll see them being last picked a lot and its a feel bad during the draft portion.
60 cards = 11%
With lands, 110 cards (2 per guild slot) = 20%
//
Rescuer Chwinga and Leelue, name a more iconic duo.
//
With no data to back it up, I'm guessing 10% of the time Abrade is a Shatter.
Pretty good old-bordering for me:
- Cloudfin Raptor
- Crackling Drake
- Condenm
- Experiment One
- Frilled Mystic
- Guttersnipe
- Lightning Helix
- Light Up the Stage
- Mayhem Devil
- Pteramander
- Rhythm of the Wild
- Utopia Sprawl
- Wilderness Reclamation

Thanks, it works. I just forced it with the 'é'. I tend to use "Specify Versions" checked, but I just rammed the name and it appeared. Thanks richard.
My update is done (with their proper Update Blogs)for LCI/CMR/stuff for the rest of the year. Hopefully.
I'm still pending on cutting 7 cards to go down to 540 cards. But that should be done by the end of the week.
Igurmendez's Peasant Cube (also in my signature)
BTW/PS: CubeCobra isn't letting me add Bartolomé del Presidio to the Cube. That might affect your numbers when doing the AVERAGE 2023. Just as a note.
This set is getting interesting, many strictly better than cards I run today have been spoiled, so I'm excited to see the complete spoiler.
These 1 MV and 2 MV creatures are getting ridiculous.

It is not in my cube, but being a pretty unique card (and also a staple of the game), I've been in the fringes of adding it.

Also, please Shivan Dragon downshift.... when?!
