It’s not that I have a specific thing I’d like to know more about. It’s just those posts from your end that show the amount of work and effort that has gone into it and in much detail that I’m just reading it almost with an open mouth thinking “wow” all the time. It’s really good stuff!

    Hi all,

Been watching a lot of video's the last 4 weeks or so from both DiabloXSC as Tiemuuu (Hi Tiemuuu!) and I'm bringing the deck to GP Brussels this weekend. I'm still in the midst of figuring out what the SB should look like. The way I see it, aggro on a nut-draw ofc brings us a hard time, but can be winnable. Like most discussions I find, also here, Mono-G will give us a hard time no matter what they draw it seems.

So how do we play against Mono-G? More importantly, regarding the SB, do we find more value in Aether Meltdown shutting their big guys down, probably causing them to be unable to cast Ghalta since they lack the power to make his cost cheaper, or are we bouncing with Unsummon or Exclusion Mage, making them cast their creatures again and again, leaving a blocker and go for that way?

I'm currently holding this SB (1 open slot):
    1x Aether Meltdown
    1x Exclusion Mage
    3x Karn, Scion of Urza
    2x Navigator's Compass
    3x Negate
    1x Padeem, Consul of Innovation
    1x Tezzeret, Artifice Master
    2x The Antiquities War

I'm not sold on The Antiquities War although I see others (Raphael Levy for example) boarding it in against RB, Grixis and Control decks. Is it really that good? I assume it's to overwhelm your opponent with the #3 on The Antiquities War where they lack answers to all of our attackers and dig+draw on the #1/#2 abilities?
Others I hear about Time of Ice, but that sounds even less impressive to me actually, especially Mono-G with Blossoming Defense, or is that just my feeling and the card is awesome?

    Fnm, 21 players.

Round 1 vs. rg breach. I got my bogle big and it was fast. I then drew spirit link and I was literally out of range for lethal at 5 mana for him and lethal next turn. In the next game, he summoners pact and breached Titan, but I had path to exile and was able to cast gaddock teeg with spider umbra to shut down Chandra, torch. 2-0.

Round 2 vs. Kiki chord. Luckily I'm on the play and have a lot of pressure. Path clears the way and I have lethal. In the next game, I made a mistake and he chorded for spellskite. I draw path and get it, but he comboes with angel and Kiki. In the final game I go all in on kor spiritdancer and it kills him on turn 4 or close to it. 2-1.

Round 3 vs. gb tron. I have all the pressure to his mull to 4. He gets 2 tron pieces right away, but doesn't find ugin or the 3rd tron piece. In the next game I'm crunching in, but draw gaddock teeg to put an umbra on it and I'm now safe. He scoops after I top deck ethereal armor. He had Nature's Claim, but it would have been tough for him to win from there. 2-0.

Round 4 vs. gb belcher. Paired down so no ID. The other 2 3-0s ID and root against me, lol. Both games are pretty easy as I suit up my dude and goldfish him. Had leyline for charbelcher and discard. Drew my 3rd land first and umbraed my spiritdancer. Got there soon afterward. 2-0.

2 4-0's in a row, good job! Do you have a link to your decklist perhaps?

I achieved my first top 8 ever! And the timing couldn't be better, at the Invitational event where I have been qualifying for last year.

Unfortunately, my first game in the top 8 I lost straight away with 2-0. It was against Grixis Delver where he had answers to everything. Letting me play my Lingering Souls and countering all my big dudes.

    Won 2-1 against Living End
Game 1 he got me end of my turn 2 by exiling SSG and casting his cascade spell, cycling Street Wraith on the stack, drawing a Street Wraith, cycling a Street Wraith, drawing a Street Wraith and cycling a Street Wraith, then attacking for 12 his turn 3. Game 2 and 3 I won by Relic/Thoughtseize/TKS

Won 2-0 against UWR, basically 4 Reality Smashers he couldn't keep up with.

Lost 2-0 against Bring to Scapeshift, after losing game 1, and him playing Platinum Emperion and saying "now I wonder if you boarded out your Path's", which I indeed did Frown

Won 2-1 against Burn. He won first game like he's supposed to, high pressure and loads of burn. Game 2 he had to mull to 4 and got me to 7 eventually, but he Skull Cracked end of my turn because he was stuck on 2 mana and felt like he had to do something, and in response I healed 4 with Blessed Alliance. Game 3 I healed off of Timely Reinforcements both times, 1 time from Blessed Alliance and once from a Sorin-ed Reality Smasher for 22 lifegain in total, that was too much apparently Smile

ID-ed for top 8! Then lost against Grixis as said Frown

    Eventually I played this list:
