he went 5/0. it was shoktroopa after all. that guy plays U tron like a god. also snapcaster mage can generate a crazy amount of card advantage and combat tricks with repeal and thirst. you can also have access to all the counters in your graveyard.

yeah man go for spreading seas! its a sweet card against so many decks! Smile i run 3 in my sideboard Smile

I dont run spellskite myself but i can see the appeal it completely hoses bogles and infect which is one of our bad matchups Smile

i might consider dropping the 2 chalices from side? i run 3 main but im testing with 2. Maybe run 2 main 1 in side and then drop 1 negate and side in 2 surgical extraction? the card is sick Smile it destroys combo decks and helps against R/g tron and infect, burn, control, basically everything Smile

It actually looks like a sweet deck list Smile Iwould probably try to fit atleast 2 spreading seas in sideboard though? also surgical extraction can improve our match up against tons of decks by alot Smile so i would try to fit atleast 1 of those as well Smile

Are you trying to prove the cards value with this display?

    seriously?
That Taxes player should be aashamed, he should of flickered/blinked it a bunch of times?

why try to prove a cards value by showing a video of you playing against an obviously inferior opponent?
realistically you would have been on a much faster clock. Its almost like he didnt know how to play his deck well at all?

And you still lost with turn 1 steel wall, ( yup just 1 mana for a 0/4 thats using up a slot in the deck for something better, seems terrible.)

Just up removal, board out maps on the draw basically everything Shoktroopa said.

might be wise to take a few pointers from the creator of U Tron, who incidently 5/0's events all the time.

    And nice list shoktroopa Smile
Im assuming the talisman of progress is to mess with your opponents mind? (make them fear a nonexistant path?) perhaps also to put more counters on Explosives if your in a jam? I forgot explosives actually, might pick a couple up?
I agree with shoktroopa completely about steel wall. Its underwhelming on so many levels.

um how exactly do they win the counter war? what part of that seems normal to you? i literally lose almost no counter wars unless im extremely unlucky or its a mirror match?

They play spell snare, dispel and remand and someones even 2 or 3 copies of cryptic command while we play 4 condescend, 3x remand and 1x Spell burst in the main with 2 negate in the SB.

Plus they dig better for answers than us because of serum visions

Damnt I miss sensei's divining top so much, damn you WoTC for banning it, if only Crystal Ball was 1cmc

Somehow I always loose against Nahiri, I have better numbers against monored, burn, infect, melforks and bogles that against Nahiri

I play 4x condescend, 4x remannd, 1x spellburst, 3x chalice of the void main. And maybe your meta is different? most jeskai players in my meta run 3x mana leak, 3x remand, 2x cryptic command ( sometimes 3) and like 1 or 2 spellsnare? dispel is in side alot of the time. and cryptic command is just bad against us. (it costs them 4 mana 3 of which has to be blue and they have no ramp at all? like i said its a great card but terrible against us. but you are wrong about them digging better then us. we dig just as hard. and then every threat we resolve is a blow out. ( Sundering Titan is mvp.)

Sorry about the double post guys, its late and i forgot. and now i dont know how to fix it? (Im on my phone?)

Against R\G Tron, Side in 3 spreading seas, 3 Squelch, 1 crucible of worlds, 1 jesters cap. if you dont run crucible then drop 1 squech ( still bring in atleast 2) and bring in 2 surgical extraction. Side out 3 remand, 1 sundering titan, 1 plat angel, 1 ugin, and 2 maps ( you will have chalice on 1 anyway) Worldbreaker can be rough but i dont understand why you are having such a rough time? between chalice on 1 (completely shut down all card draw and tutor effects except sylvan scrying, we literally 1 for 20 them) spreading seas and ghostquarter? I literally dont understand how you havent beaten them? I havent lost a single match (a match being best 2 out of 3) against R/G Tron in like a month? and i play magic like three times a week at my lgs and we have 7 g\r tron players who i play frequently? we normally lose game 1 and then dominate game 2 and 3 ( we just have to much hate for them.) maybe it all comes down to how often you play against them, your exp in the match up and how you side board. its also about doing the correct things at the correct times. ghost quarter into surgical extraction is very strong against R/G tron. you also get to search their hand graveyard and library so it gives you perfect information as well. post sideboard i put our chances to 80/20 in our favour.

I posted a step by step guide on how to wreck them like 5 or so pages ago, its up to others if they want to listen but i win against them all the time. I may have forgotten surgical extraction in that post but that card is amazing. Summary dismissal seems okay as well.

    And as to jeskai nahiri.

Are you guys serious? They are very easy to beat. We have a huge advantage over them! Maybe you arent playing correctly? how often do you play against other control decks? we slaughter them!? like seriously? cryptic command is a great spell but its ***** against us. Someone said they were losing counter wars? like how? you are playing U Tron? The most hardcore control deck in modern?

Jeskai is and has always been one of our good match ups.

You said he was a good player? thats probably why? its probably a piloting issue caused by in experiance?

Okay guys i pulled the new emrakul at a prerelease event a couple days ago down here in australia. (we are a day ahead on the calender). and the more i look at the card the more i want to play test it. by the time we are ready to cast it we will already have instants and artifacts in the graveyard perhaps even a creature. so we are realistically looking at about 10 mana. as far as im aware apart from liliana and maelstrom pulse and stuff like that in jund and abzan i cant really think of any effective sorcery speed removal in the format.

when we cast her we get to control target players next turn but then they get an extra turn, and at first i was like wait what they get an extra turn? thats terrible anything could happen.

but then i realised that because i control the first one then what emrakul really does is give you a turn to try to screw them hard and then you just let them take there turn for normal. essentially very similar to doing a value mindlaver except that we end up with a 13/13 flying trampler with protection from (nearly all removal)

the more i look at her the more i want to playtest with her as a one of. it even suits the style of this deck more then aeons torn as well.

although to be honest mindslaver still seems alot better in my opinion.
and i will still run 2 mindslavers main.

but just the fact that we could cast her for 8, 9 or 10 in this deck is quite appealing. im running 2 ugins at the moment i might cut 1 and playtest with her at fnm in a few days.

will let you guys know how it goes.

(im semi convinced shes not that good but im gonna see what happens.)

I personally prefer the 22 or 23 lands with 2 or 3 talismans. although gemstone caverns has the potential of being very good indeed so i may have a look into it Smile

Because it gives you the ability to ramp harder, to color fix, and they can also be used a fodder to thirst for knowledge! i think talismans are great and ive been playing mono U tron exclusively in modern for like 2 years and a bit Smile

I think i will always go the solemn and talisman build. it makes thirst so much better. and they really give you the abilty to ramp and color fix Smile

yeah proactive control and reactive control are very different playstyles. this deck rewards tight gameplay and a fair bit of practice so dont be discouraged! this deck is amazing! Smile

I think cutting 2 talismans for 2 thought knot seer is a terrible idea. that would only leave you with 9 blue sources in your whole deck. and it sounds like you had fun mate, but how could you think jeskai nahiri is an unfair matchup? its one of our best? its a shame that your deck "trolled you" because we normally stomp them completely. Jeskai nahiri is still a control deck and we normally stomp control decks completely. how long have you been playing control for? because sometimes people will lose to inexperiance and not the match up? Hatebear decks like death and taxes and eldrazi and taxes can actually be a really bad matchup for us. (not always) and good job against zoo Man they are a very bad matchup for us and im glad you beat them! its always a good feeling when you beat a deck that is a bad matchup Smile

But seriously man unless you change your land base dont take out talismans,

They are too important if your not running 25 lands.
