Ha, I'm not sure if we can call ourselves champions - we haven't won anything yet. Unless you mean it in the sense that we support the deck?

Interestingly I was considering molten nursery the other day. I'm considering adding one to my sideboard, along with one Grid in sideboard. Also, I currently have basilisk collar in my sideboard for life gain. Also, as I am running Aids I feel this is better for my gameplay than leonin elder. That said - with the use of retract and repeal I may reconsider the use of elder. Not too sure what I can take out of my deck/sideboard to fit him in.

As an aside I will be running my latest deck list in a PPTQ in October. I will try and keep a good log of match ups etc. Also I will be entering the deck as: Fruit L00ps Wink

Thanks for comments Viva. Would you mind posting up your current deck list with sideboard please?

Always interested to see what people are playing. Also, if you have any reports from match ups that would be great!

    Thanks

Ah, that was one of the reasons I couldn't attack - he had an ensnaring bridge out and my 12/16 gaveleer was redundant!

Think there is a place for grid main Board? Not sure what to take out of my sideboard to fit them in, assuming I need x2. Maybe take boots out?

I see your point about noxious revival. I guess even with the one of, it is a really versatile card... Even for stalling the opponent.

I'm not a huge fan of Muddle though... Feel it is really slow. Don't know if I want to go for Evolution either. So have dropped muddle from my list and added 2 serum visions, which can be easily side boarded if needed.

As for the games I played:

    Match 1 vs Titan landfall
Premise of the deck is primeval Titan and Valakut, the molten pinnacle.

Game 1 - managed to beat down the opponent to 1hp using swiftspears. Unfortunately I played really badly and had grapeshot in hand but for some reason I didn't play it and died to his combo the next turn.

Game 2 - kept a really risky hand of 0 drops, swiftspear and retract. Went first and swung for 10 on opening hand. Luckily drew a repeal and a couple more 0s and beat him into the ground before he could combo.

Game 3 - stalled really heavily after mulliganing to 5 cards. Didn't draw anything of use and died on turn 5.

    Mathch 2 vs 8 rack

Game 1 - kept a good opening hand with paladin in but got duress first turn. Eventually drew a muddle which got discarded and eventually got beaten down.

Game 2 - mulled to 5 and can't even remember what cards I kept but didn't end well.

    Match 3 vs 8 rack

Unfortunately can't remember either of these games. Can remember that I sideboarded leylines and we had a stale mate where I was hex proof and so was my only creature but I couldn't play much due to racks being on the field. Eventually lost the stalemate.

Match 3 vs rubbish standard deck

Nothin went right in this match. Terrible draws and fizzled twice on combo.

Sorry for rubbish notes but kind of lost the will to live during the second game. Will try and make more detailed ones next time. Obviously wasn't my night!

The reintroduction of batwing brume is aimed at keeping me alive against creature heavy decks if I don't manage to draw paladin or combo off early. The decks had had in mind, and played at my meta, are big red-green stompy and elves. I see it really as a stalling card.

The introduction of emerge unscathed is mainly aimed at keeping paladin safe from spot removal, but also for gaveleer if he gets pumped. I was considering forge-tender but as I don't have any in my collection I am opting for this card instead at the moment. I did have silence in the deck, but rarely side boarded it in during match ups.

I haven't come up against chalice yet, but will know I might struggle. May look at testing wear//tear as I have some in my collection. Reason I like Scorn is it clears the board of enchantments.

Edit: I think I may take the muddle the mixture out of my deck and main board an additional two noxious revival, thoughts?

I didn't keep any notes on the games but will post up analysis a bit later today.

Ok, haven't posted for a while but have been keeping an eye on the thread. Not going to post my entire deck list up but I was running a slightly different variation with; monastery swiftspear, city of brass, mana confluence and gemstone mine. I also had three Sigarda's aid and a single leonin shikari.

Unfortunately I went 0-4 at my latest FNM which is the worst I have done with this deck.
    Match ups were:
    Game 1 vs Titan Landfall.
    Game 2 vs 8 Rack
    Game 3 vs 8Rack
Game 4 vs some really ***** deck.

Admittedly I was shattered and wasn't playing well, but not once did I have Gaveleer and Aid in my opening hand, which was massively disappointing. Also, found due to the extra additions of creatures that when combing off I started to stall. This was also due to the type of lands in the deck. Therefore my current deck is below.

Haven't managed to test it yet and realise it is going away from the recent discussions, but anyone have any thoughts?
Possible changes will be to add more Noxious Revival to sideboard as struggle against mill and discard. Also, Patrician's Scorn is in there for the large amount of players the run Boggles.

I reckon go for it.... What have you got to lose? Hopefully you'll be able to feedback some good match reports, and don't think many people will be expecting the deck. Obviously your call though.

I'm gutted I haven't managed to test the new deck list yet. But, with the old list my worst match ups have been Jund. I also played against a control deck - sorry can't remember the name - where they played two mind funeral, which was pretty devastating.

My best match up has been against ad nauseum. Have won 5-0 at FNMs against it.

Honestly, I reckon in any modern match up you'd want to be going first. But would be intrigued to see what others say.

I will post my most recent deck list up tomorrow when I have time, but in my last two tournaments I came up against elves a total of four times. I didn't have gaveleer in the deck at that time, but wondering if Kusari-Gama is a viable side board option?

I realise it has a high mana cost, but wouldn't certainly help if equipped to a gaveleer against token decks.

    Sigarda's Arm0ry is quite cool.

Can people post up their latest deck lists that they're testing please?

Haven't got a problem with Anerican Armoury but there must be a better name!? Smile

Just had a thought, with the introduction of Sigarda's, does it make glaze fiend a viable card choice? Dump all your artefacts to boost the fiend and attach to Gaveleer...

Are you running 4 retract while playing swiftfoot boots? Can't help but feel that they may not work too well with each other.... Anyone thought about putting in a single cranial plating?

I'm hoping my sigarda's aid's will arrive tomorrow so can start testing as got hold of the shields.

    Thanks Smash.

I quite like the idea of running the commune with natures. I'm guessing timing will be they key to playing this - I.e. End of opponents turn if they're all tapped out etc.

I may drop the mentor to one count and add erayo main board and see if that works with adding serum visions to main deck.

What did people think about Explorer's Scope? Will it stall our deck or will it assist in filtering the deck so that our combo has more chance of going off. It may only work for me if I'm the only one running swiftspears but thought I would put it out there for everyone else.

I'm also considering Elixir of Immortality as my deck is quite hard on life loss. Which against aggro decks is not good. Anyone else tried this?

    Hey guys,

Thanks for last feedback - hopefully the deck list below is easier to understand (still learning the ropes!)

Ok, so bit of an update.... Went 2-2 with this deck at FNM

    Link to deck @ TappedOut.net

First matchup I played ad nauseum. Won 2-1
Game one: Had two Paladins in hand as well as retract, one plains and several equipments. Drew in swiftspear and went off on turn two for a lethal grapeshot as well as lethal swiftspear.

Game two: mulled to five and kept hand with paladin, which once brought out got pathed and I never really recovered.

Game three: side boarded in noxious revivals for emerge unscathed. Similar situation with first game except didn't draw grapeshot so swung with swiftspear with basilisk collar equipped gaining me 14 life (had managed to stick goblin gaveleer out in second main phase). Opponent played ad nauseum next turn and dealt me 31 damage. stuck a fetch land on top of their library with noxious revival in case they drew another angels grace and then swung in with massive goblin.

Second matchup was against zoo. Won 2-0
Game one: can't remember which turn it was but went off with monastery mentor and mass hysteria. Which was very satisfying.

Game two: side boarded in silence for emerge unscathed. Got beaten down to 3 health before going off with my second paladin after first one died to a lightning bolt. Drew into a grapeshot for lethal damage.

Third matchup was against jund. Lost 2-0
Game one: mulled to five to get paladin which got discarded by inquisition of koziliek. Didn't stand a chance after that and got beaten down by two tamogoyfs.

Game two: again not a good starting hand but managed to get goblin gaveleer on turn one and paladin turn two. Drew a few equipments and managed to kill a tamogoyf with an equipped goblin but then both died to two abrupt decays a few turns later.

Fourth matchup was against burn. Lost 2-1
Game one: really can't remember this game but know I lost hard. Got lightning bolted and rift bolted a fair bit with two swiftspear a on the board and I ahead no blockers.

Game two: side boarded in erayo for goblins and silence for emerge unscathed.think silence won me this match up as went off on turn four for lethal grapeshot.

Game three: this was the longest game we had. I got beaten down quite hard early on when eidolon was played by the opponent. Had a swiftspear and paladin out with two artefacts in my hand and a repeal. Bounced the eidolon back to my opponents hand and went down to 4 health. Played a series of artefacts but didn't find the grapeshot, but swung with the swiftspear for 13 bringing my opponent down to 1 health. He top decked a boors charm which was less than amusing!

Overall I really enjoyed playing the deck, but moreover enjoyed the reactions of people at the club (was my first time at this particular club) who had just come from Manchester GP with these decks and had no idea what to do against it. Highlights were definitely running the swiftspears.... Downsides was obviously playing against jund where removal and discard really killed the games. Not sure what I could have done there, any thoughts?

I didn't find that monastery mentor worked for me so will look at myth realised and storm entity. Think I may also invest in leylines as sideboard and may look at mana base as doesn't help dealing damage to myself from the first turn. Am only running what I have and can't really justify spending money on other lands people have recommended.

If I was playing again I think I would ditch the emerge unscathed as didn't use them once. Maybe ditch mass hysteria and monastery mentor. Add one more repeal and possibly main board serum visions or gitaxian probes. May also consider sideboarding spellskite- didn't have these as they were lent to a friend.

Any feedback welcome, and next time I will try and remember my games in a bit more detail so can feedback more accurately.
