    As for shuffling, we can't account for that since it's unknown. But I can say that when I play a combo deck or against a combo deck I ALWAYS ask my opponent to disperse his combo pieces throughout the deck randomly before he begins shuffling. I've had an opponent stick his combo on top, pile, then do a couple of riffles and present. Needless to say he got a game loss because his combo was still effectively in a predictable 10 card region, so watch your opponents.

    kind of off topic but, what is the problem so long as he shuffled 7 + times there for fulfilling the game's required shuffle count for suffecently randomizing the deck. (this is a rift shuffle and its what it was about a year ago). also when he presents you with his deck you have the option of shuffling his deck or cutting it.

    ok what he is saying is this, IF there are any counters on Morselhoarder that is then blocked you may remove them before combat damage. IE Morselhoarder w/ 2 -1/-1 counters on it is blocked by a 2/2 wither. after blockers you may remove the 2 conters form Morselhoarder for 2 mana to make it so the 2/2 will not kill the Morselhoarder. However you must use this mana during the combat step or take 2 mana burn.

    now lets say a Morselhoarder is attacking with out any counters on it and is blocked by a 4/4 with wither. there is no chance of saving the Morselhoarder by removal of counters. this is because directly after combat damage resolves SBE are checked and they see a 2/0 Morselhoarder with 4 -1/-1 counters on it and say that should be dead. There is no responding to this.

    the last case is if the Morselhoarder is blocked by 2 + creatures with wither and one of them have first strike, after the first strike combat damage has resolved you can remove the counters from the Morselhoarder to get the mana assuming that the Morselhoarder is not at 2/0 or lower.

    Disgusting. But that's not really a play, it's more like a stupidly good deck.

    ok then, how about this, my opp is at 2 life, the field is stalled and I don't have a hand (ravens crime is funny that way) I rip knollspine invocation and play it. then pull a figure of destiny and play it with 5 mountains in play and make it the 4/4. my opp takes his turn and pulls something unrellevent and says " huh, guess I Lose if you topdeck a spell or a land right?" to which I smile back and revel the top card of my deck to be a mountain and swing win with the 8/8 flying first striker.

    Makeshift Mannequin will not work - or will it? Won't using the ability of Quillspike cause it to get destroyed? And you can't Rite of Consumption it.

    rites reads "As an additional cost to play Rite of Consumption, sacrifice a creature.
    Rite of Consumption deals damage equal to the sacrificed creature's power to target player. You gain life equal to the damage dealt this way."

    so were does it read that you target? you don't and thus it works good to say.

    drafting EEE at the pre I managed to draft a deck consisting of

    then in every game I play i proceed to go t2 riverfall mimic t3 clout on mimic send for 5 unblockable untargetable. then most of the games go turn 4 riverfall mimic w/clout send for 10 unblockable untargetable, turn 5 drop noggle bandit send for 10 unblockable untargetable. or turn 5 Dominus of fealty, send for 5 unblockable untargetable, then proceed to take your stuff and send it into your face.

    played sealed all 5 rounds, lost 1 game came in 2ed with a 4-0-1 record overall and an 8 -1- 0 with an ID in the final round. my sealed was stupidly good. honerable mentions are;
    canker abomination 4/4's for 4 are good, 5/5's for 4 are fun, 6/6 for 4 say I win game, the game loss was due to this.
    Wickerbough elder never did I NOT have a target for the counter on this guy, and last I heard a 4/4 for 5 that blows up a pesky enchantment or artifact is good in limited.
    Firespout do I need to say more? yes? ok then drawing 3 cards when you hit a swans that allow you to then hit the swans for 4 ( read -2 cards + 7) drawing into fun gas that lets you burn your opp to the ground from 10 the next is fun.
    Outrage Shaman, it trys SOOOO hard to be redcaps its kinda funny, and the reason why he is outraded, because he is not. Hitting your opps only flyer for 7 then swinging in with noblis of war is fun.
    Aerie Ouphes lets play catch the head with swans, sure ill draw 5 cards off this one guy. And lets deal with every flyer in the format minus the rare ones.
    Spitemare what? youll play pacman?(doomgape) what you'll play a 9/9 dude? ok, spitemare send GG?
    Figure of destiny Yay ok, ill send for 2 on turn 2, 4 on turn 3 and 4, what you kill it? fine by me he just cut your life in half. hrmm, topdeck Figure of destiny? ya sure, ill make it a 4/4 right away, topdeck my 6th mountain its an 8/8 flyer, gg?

    horable mentions ;
    Fire at will Don't know about you but there was no Will in my pod so it was kinda bad :rolleyes:. ok honestly, to hard to cast in a green red deck, and for me it was deal 3 to target attacking or blocking thing.

    and a nice Shout out to the Noggle ransacker you may not be the best pick of the pack, but you get the job done for sure

    it only shuts down life gain, which effectively stops finks, and lark from going infinte life. and to be honest the finks are played not only because of there life gain but because they are VERY good.

    I believe that saying "stacking the ability's off of Deathbringer Liege so that the said ability's will end up destroying (insert target creature)" would be sufficient for all levels of play at a Prerelease, and the majority of tournament level play.

    I start out by sorting out into playables, unplayables, and filler. then sort the playable stack by color, see what my strongest 2 colors are, then pull every thing thats playable in the 2 colors out and build the deck by putting in the strongest cards of the color. If i don't get to the min number to play (very rare) i go though the filler pile and pull out any decent filler that may be an answer, or stall to something that I don't have main deck.

  • posted a message on MTG video game currently in the works
    so they are making a 4th game now? ( so long as you count the MTGO versons as the same game just an upgrade)

    1st one was the duel of the planeswalkers that came out back in 1995 (name may be something else)
    2ed or 3rd one was battle grounds (I think 2ed?) the other would be MTGO

    here is hopping that it is more like the first one which was incredably fun to play since it was made back when the dark was just released and one was able to make the most broken decks

  • posted a message on [???] Would this card be broken?
    broken? no. the way it is worded it would most likely never be printed. change it to your graveyard then ya i could see it being printed. would be a decent enabler, but all it would be is mana accleration, and a turn 3 mana accel at that.

    ceravan by far. for the reason that I follow the rules of drafting and reliable evasion is much better than potential power. its turn 4 and you have hit all your land drops, there 1 guy on your side of the field and 2 on your opp's, which would you rather have? open field opp has 3-6 cards in hand which would you rather have? which one will reliably do more damage and let you play out the rest of your hand or draws? the answer for me at least to all of these is the ceraven. Also a friend of mine drafted 8 of them in one pool and went undefeated, which is funny because we play tested and i completely stomped him in all 3 games we played.
