+2/0 and haste is well worth it, your generating many tokens with this deck, and when you bring back a seigegang(leaving you blockers) with a few tokens already out, its pretty much game.
Well ontop of that you can have Sarkhan Vol give your tokens +1/+1 and Haste after a Torrent to make it +3/+1 to everything else already in play.
Ontop of that it's funny to use his final, and then Torrent a creature to get 5x 6/4 Flying, Haste Dragons.
I imagine Wooly Thoctar to be less powerful then Flametongue Kavu, or Ravenous Baloth.
What Magic is doing is giving agro decks the tools to compete efficiantly against blue, without being Cryptic Commanded to death. In fact if you arn't running a million burn spells. It's hard for an agro deck to beat Faeries. Even Kithkin has only a 60% chance to beat Faeries.
I would like to see more R/P/S design as Rosewater suggested. Maybe make creatures in Alara better vs. Bitterblossom. This way for a deck to really win agro matchups all day long, it sacrifices the control matchup. Faeries is an anomoly that has no supposed bad matchup, since they beat Agro & Control equally well.
People don't seem to realize that you can't pay life you don't have!
Quote from Magic Comprehensive Rules »
Cost
Playing spells and activated abilities requires paying a cost. Most costs are paid in mana, but they may also include paying life, tapping or sacrificing permanents, discarding cards, and so on.
It's illegal to pay a cost without having the necessary resources to pay it fully. For example, a player with only 1 life can't pay a cost of 2 life, and a permanent that's already tapped can't be tapped to pay a cost. See rule 203, "Mana Cost," and rule 403, "Activated Abilities."
Yeah, I think my favorite thing ever is getting ridiculously good cards off of smug dealers at the prerelease for next to nothing because they "know for a fact that cards are garbage"...I think I was picking up Garruks all weekend from them for $3-4, while they all thought it was one of the worst PWs. Not that I like/play with PWs anyway, but it was a good feeling and a good way to make money later.
I still don't see this as earth shattering...$8-10 is still a lot for one card, but it shouldn't be another $30 card
Funny story, at the Future Sight pre-release. Sliver Legion was selling for $20, and I picked up a ton of Venser's from his dollar bin (but not Goyfs :()
Also we got a box of Future Sight, and between the prerelease and that, I had a Playset of Goyfs including 1x Foil. I traded it for 4x River of Tears.
I hate to say it, but I think we do need a set like Chk in the near future...enough with the 5/4s for 3, and the 4/3s for 2, and all the cards that I are trying to outdo other cards...tone it back a little bit and keep it simple, that's all I'm saying
What about 12/12's for 1? Certain drawbacks make cards unplayable, and the maybe the drawback on Talara's Battalion is so severe it's not a guarenteed 4/3 on turn two. Thoctar doesn't have Trample, and is 3 colors (I.E it's less efficient). If anything creatures have been getting worse.
Seriously though, preordered Circu, Dimir Lobotomist went for $20 a pop on eBay. This could be $10, this could be $5. Noone knows! Personally, if he's going to be expensive, then trade for him at the prerelease at $10 a pop.
I remember getting Garruks off people for Pre-Release Wren's Run Packmasters (which were $10 at the time), I ended getting like 7-9 Garruks at one point, then traded them off when they hit $25
Why are you running Thistledown Liege in a *control deck* where none of the creatures except for Stoic Angel receive both bonuses? Steel of the Godhead is also bad in this deck.
(it's AGGRO-CONTROL, I said it was a more 'Controlling Version')
There are just so many things wrong with this post it's not even funny. Firstly, most good deckbuilders try and critique a decklist, and incase you havn't noticed, the good ones don't insult it, but often feel it needs playtesting or is bad vs. the Meta (This deck has no Meta, and so in a Vacuum the deck runs functionally). That's how I know you've probablly not even made a sucessfull tournament deck.
A) Liege is a flash in 4cc creature that pumps every creature in the deck by atleast +1/+1, but so happens to pump the Angel by +2/+2. This is only ever needed vs. Control, where Flashing in a creature, rather then main phasing vs. other Blue decks is good I hear. Also it is a sucessfull way of pumping your critters vs. aforementioned deck in a way that isn't prone to excessive counterspells. (Please tell Kithkin to stop running Lieges, because apparently they suck..?)
B) You use Steel of the Godhead vs. Aggro and mirror type decks where evasion is the key to winning. Try Deckcheck.net and then come back to me with "Steel sux kekeke".
Also most 'good' deckbuilders attempt to connect on other card placements like Lands, and card numbers. You had a biased opinion of things you've never tested before. So please don't even try to reply with anything that isn't actually constructive.
Turn 1 - Land (CIPT here is good)
Turn 2 - Land, Devoted Druid
Turn 3 - Land, Dramatic Entrance, Hellkite Overlord (12)
Turn 4 - Land, Swing (4) ((If you play Filter Lands, and Reflecting Pools, you can easily get RRR, if not RRRR to kill them Turn 4 with Firebreathing, or just Burn them out with Incendiary Command, or Flame Javelin.
I looked at the Prerelease card, Ajani Vengant. The first thought I had was some form of fun Ponza level deck. Ajani seems to scream Land-Destruction to me as he performs a form of destruction early with his +1 Ability kind of like Eye of Nowhere/Boomerang did. Burn creatures, or players ala Arc Slogger to win you the game. Or he can Armageddon opponents to reset there board when you run low on Stone Rains.
I don't know if there will be a card like Stone Rain in Shards, i'm skeptical because with Birds it's easy to blow a land Turn2, and lay Ajani Turn3, and tempo ravage your opponent who cannot usually respond to Ajani AT ALL as he clocks up to 7, or 8 and then just resets their lands again.
You have access to:
Reveillark
Incendiary Command (Mini-Wildfire or recover vs. Aggro)
Primal Command (Mini-Plowunder or recover vs. Aggro)
Fulminator Mage
And any goodies Shards brings for a land control deck.
Seems to me that i'll be collecting every copy of Ajani I can at $5 like usual on PR day.
i also doubt a country where Guns are sold everywhere is one of the best to visit...~
Yeah, because a communist country that polices their citizen's into subservience, and monitors every letter of news they see, or hear REALLY lets their citizen's buy Guns on the street corner.

Whenever another creature goes to the graveyard from play you may put a +1/+1 counter on it.

You mean a Manji, which is the Buddhist symbol of Harmony.
It makes sense cause Cryptic Command says "Hey over there, don't go attacking anyone, ok?"
