Right, sorry I wasn't specific enough: was curious if anyone has removed Lurrus due to the Vintage banning, and if that has caused anyone to revisit the inclusion of those cards generally.
Does anyone have any demonstrable testing showing Lurrus or Companions as a group to be dominating in Cube? They're obviously good if you can meet their condition(s) but that's not quite as trivial as it's proving to be in constructed formats.
What is demonstrable testing? Lutri is the stone cold n*ts.
It is generally incredible how hard it is (for most players) to let go of the concept of "life" as representing something that should be preserved, rather than what it is - a finite resource.
On topic, I also still like Doom Whisperer and have no plan of removing it. Surveil is just a cool mechanic.
We still play it, but it isn't very highly picked in general - but I honestly think that is more a perception thing, people underestimating how good it can be for them.
I don't think we were the only ones to miss it - it was pretty cheap for quite a while after the set came out. I picked it up for something like £10, and I wasn't fast out the gate.
On twitter. Random packs cards from sets going at least back to Odyssey, 2 rares per pack, first card is a WotC test card (a card with a sticker on it), probably by some margin the most interesting thing in the packs.
Didn't we lose this thread, and it never recovered? If its still around just kill this one off.
This just happened in a draft; I was merely spectating. Both players know what the other is playing.
P1 - Simic Cheating deck.
P2 - Red/black aggro
P1 - Land, Mox, go.
P2 - Land, go.
P1 - Land, tap all, Show and Tell, Emrakul, the Promised End, generally self-satisfied looks.
P2 - Thinks for a little bit, plays Goblin Cratermaker, taps his one land to destroy target colorless permanent.
P1 - Proceeds to have an enjoyable turn where he devastatingly decides not to drop a land, and otherwise does nothing to P2.
I really don't see it - it goes against what I mostly want to be doing in green, and life gain is nearly always not good enough. If you aren't getting bigger dudes or hitting face with green you are losing no matter what this bird does.
Uhhh I think this is definitely better than ohran viper
Yeah, I don't completely get that either. Not saying the new cold snek is the bee's knees, but Ohran Viper is not a very good card, while this is providing quite a unique pair of abilities to all your creatures.
