  • posted a message on Best deck colors for M10 sealed?
There's no best colors in sealed. Open packs, if there's a lot of good red then go red if they a lot of good blue then go blue.

I won the sealed event I went to with R/G because my red was nuts and green had the dudes my deck needed.

If my opponent has Jace Beleren out with 3 counters can I play Fireball paying for two targets targeting my opponent both times to do 3 damage to him and 3 to Jace Beleren?

Clone: Meh. Sure, Clone is as good as the best creature that your opponent has... but that also means it can never be better than your opponent's creatures. Which is really not that good. It's a solid card, but not one that is first-pick worthy IMO, at least not out of this pack. Too conditional for me - I'd rather have something with more predictable effects. Splashable, to be sure, but blue honestly sucks as a splash color in M10. Much better as a supporting second color.

Clone to me is a odd removal spell, I copy what I want dead and hope to trade clone for what I cloned. Sure it could be something insane like the hellkite but that isn't a good point for picking it as it will only happen once in your life time and it will be in the game next to yours.

And blue is a good splash color just like it is 10th draft, sure it lost some of it's awesome card draw but it still has card draw that only takes one blue and it's got ice cage now.

I'd rare draft the time warp at the PR as I want it for myself.

The 3/2 blue dude may be a better pick here for being open but you will be cut in the 2nd pack as time warp is going to send someone into blue as it is good if you draft a lot of fliers for 2 turns of attacking. It's pretty much one of the old free spells as long as you have 5 land.

I think everyone does but here how you look at a time walk card:

3UU: You gain an additional combat phase. Untap all lands you control. Draw card. You may put a land form you hand into play uptapped.

Pretty much what people are saying here are power, being open, forcing, or just bad cards.

For power you take Goblin Artillery, it's the best card in the pack.

For being open you take the clone because blue makes a good splash color so you can still use it if your not in blue after a few picks and want to use some card draw or ice cage.

If your forcing: Illusionary Servant Goblin Artillery Howling Banshee Borderland Ranger Veteran Swordsmith

    Bad cards: Duress (in draft)

You should go on your gut for something like XXXX is under drafted or take the best card.

So wait, people are saying that they'll take a decent, but not fantastic 2/2+land tutor over repeatable removal (Which is quite possibly *the best* non-bomb thing to have)... Seriously, Goblin artillery is the only correct pick here, period. By the way, Duress is mediocre at best in limited, most people only play 5-8 non creatures in their entire deck.

Most people here are FNM players or they have fixing is awesome burned into their head after drafting ALA too much. Then there are just the players that think T2 cards are awesome in draft.

Banshee wins if your doing 2-color.

EDIT: Second thought, wurms tooth all the way.
What about the forest? You need that to cast your spells.

I was really torn between goblin artillery and duress.

Duress, because I'm seeing a lack of good removal in M10.
However, Goblin Artillery is an Uncommon, while I might see another duress later...

It's a rough 50/50 split for me. I ended up taking duress.

    This post makes no sense...

You talk about things that make the goblin 100% pick and then you take the other card?

PS: Duress is not the pick here

No. In no way can this be done. Even if you got the blue rare that mills half the deck, still no.

Goblin Artillery 100%, nothing comes close to it here.

Edit: are any of you even reading Goblin Artillery?

false, as i will put it in my stack of crap to use when playing mental magic Teach

But it will never be played, it'd be a better 5 mana spell. (forgot the rules for MM so edit)

Well this seal pool is just one big bomb. If someone opened this good at he PR I'd call judge...

I'd use the one land fixer, the Borderland ranger, and 2 rampant growth to play B/G/u and just play all the great cards that only take one blue to cost. I'm not making a deck list using that, post a list of the cards and I will make a deck list.

Also note this is one of the great seal pools that let you make 2 decks and after game one side out your G/W deck for a B/R deck. Siding out 40 cards for the win!

Edit: Think you guys are right with just B/G because a 3rd color makes Tendrils of Corruption worse. Having a hard time looking at this thing. Maybe one plains to play Indestrectibility as it makes them have to side in something to deal with Indestrectibility to do anything to whatever it's on and there are 4 ways to get the one plains in green cards and the land.

Sleep can just win games when cast. I pretty much says, Fog and your stuff is unblockable for two turns.

Also why are people posting like after taking sleep you can't take cards outside of blue?

Edit: Dear god, I typed "cast" without even thinking about it. <_<

Not saying it's a top pick in this removal-happy pack, but I'm a little surprised no one mentioned the 4/4 trample "I win games" green guy. In a pack like this, there's at least some chance of Giant Growth coming back around at pick 9, and that would be a pretty sweet basis for a green or G/x aggro deck.
It's because 4/4 trample can be ganged blocked, if it was a 4/4 flier it would get a word in. The power of the other cards is nuts and a 4/4 shouldn't be taken over them.
