FoodChain what do you tutor with Hulk though that wins you the game and can also be played in a dredge list? If you accidentally dredge one of the pieces you nullify the reason to play Protean Hulk. I can only think of grabbing Melira+Finks+Seer for modern, unless I'm missing another combo you can do with 6 cmc worth of guys because we don't have that whole slew of X costed artifacts that come in as 0/0's to combo with Disciple

I think all three of the 0/0's from Conspiracy would be awesome for this, since they're all going to be incredibly large for cheap, Ignition Team being generally the best for early game (coming in at probably 7-8 on average, obviously can get way bigger later and can be bigger even early if everyone taps out on turn 3/4)

Thanks for the feedback! I forgot about Footsteps, that looks to be exactly what I'm looking for. Footsteps turns Flayer into a cheaper better Lava Axe+upside. 9 Damage on turn 3 that if it dies to a bolt or something, you can do again for another 9 damage and another Footsteps.

Life from the Loam is a card that is awesome with fetches and dredging Chronocidist, and would be a more than acceptable card to play in a dredge list. The more fetches I crack and lands I get into play the less lands I dredge and the more dudes I put in the yard.

Hey guys, with the recent unbanning of Grave Troll, I've been wanting to brew with a "Big Dredge" type of deck, that is, Dredgevine but with a few more "castable" fatties. And by castable, I don't mean throw a singleton color source in the deck just in case, I mean cards that are actually already in the colors, as well as cards that interact well with the deck.

Brewing for Alesha EDH I came across Flayer of the Hatebound. Now this guy is really really sweet with Vengevine, Gravecrawler, Bloodghast, the bread and butter of Dredgevine. My question to you guys is how is the best way to go about getting Flayer out as soon, and as cheaply, as possible? He has Undying, which means anything that will cheat him into play but kills him (non exile) is perfectly fine, as he will just come back. Ideally I would want to slot him into at least a Tier 2 Dredge list, not something pleb status casual Tier 12.

If the card can get a Grave Troll into play for cheaper, added bonus.

Inbefore "just net deck and stop trying to play bad cards"

You could actually play both of those in the deck, and they will also trigger off of the Flayer trigger. The source is the creature. The sky is the limit

Flayer of the Hatebound has been an allstar for me in the deck. You Buried Alive for Him, Karmic Guide, and Feldon, Swing, Reanimate Karmic Guide with Alesha, then get Feldon with Guide. Let guide die to Echo, use Feldon to make a token copy of it, use the Token Copies ETB to get the original, then use the original to get Flayer. Every turn now you can reanimate the Karmic Guide+any other creature you bin and get Flayer triggers all day long.

A combo you can do with the Flayer is reanimate the Firebreathing Infect Ogre from New Phyrexia (Ogre Menial?), then in response to Flayer pump it as much as you can for potential two or one hit KO on someone. You can even use that new spell from Fate that gives you red mana and all your guys firebreathing as a nifty combat Ritual

The problem with Maralen is that you have to have the Mindcensor/Stranglehold out first, or flash in Mindcensor from your hand after you reanimate her. And even then, if anyone has an answer in hand to Mindcensor, you're just letting your opponents tutor up a combo for free.

The only problem with that theory Raver is that most people don't film their unboxing. Millions of boxes get opened and only a few hundred make it to film, if that.

I'm not 100% sure on the rate of foil rares per box, but this definitely can't be a normal box.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CpZpelO-RT4

For those who can't see the link, this guy pulls from a sealed box 3 foil Bloodstained Mires, foil Polluted Delta, and a foil Clever Imposter, nevermind that he also gets 6 other non foil fetches, and all of his mythics are Khans or Walkers (6 Mythics? maybe 7)

He's already way over on mythics if we assume the average is 1 in 8, so 4 a box. I thought that foil rares were 1 a box average.

You guys think that this might be another installment of "Hidden Treasures"? Hidden Treasures part 3.

To piggyback onto this, what happens when you copy Birthing Pod's ability? Will you get two creatures of the same CMC, or will you get one of the sacrificed creatures CMC, and then one with CMC 1?

So there is 4 points of damage that get wasted then, correct? This is where I was getting a little confuzzled, that extra 4 that gets dealt to Frostburn doesn't trample through even though it's more than lethal

    Board State:

Alpha has a Dictate of the Twin Gods, and a Spark Trooper on the field
Nancy has a Frostburn Weird out

Alpha attacks with Spark Trooper, and gives it Double Strike with Boros Charm
    Nancy blocks with Frostburn Weird

How much damage in total is dealt to the player, after all double effects from Twin Gods? I am thinking that with 24 Damage from the Spark Trooper floating in the Abyss (6 double strike, doubled), and since the Frostburn Weird will soak up 4 of it, the player will take 20 total. Can someone explain, with the corresponding rules, how Trample and Double effects work (like Furnace of Rath, Gisela, etc. etc.), and rather or not I am right in my assumption that 20 total will go to the player.

If I were to copy an animated Haunted Plate Mail with a Progenitor Mimic, the Mimic will come in as an inanimate Plate Mail. However, the wording on Mimic is a little confusing in regards to its token making ability.

On each of my upkeeps, will the ability trigger at all and make tokens, even though Mimic isn't actually a creature? If not, can I animate the Mimic in response to the trigger so that it is a creature and will give me tokens?

I think this just might be more cards supplementing the preexisting theme of Defenders that was present in RtR, similar to how Slivers in M15 are just supplementing the M14 Slivers, which will be rotating out soon. I don't think that slivers in M15 means Slivers in Khans, but it could mean that they are okay with Slivers being a Coreset staple now, IE every coreset has a little bunch of slivers in it

Do Burning Vengeance and Gravecrawler work how they appear to work? IE I cast Gravecrawler from my Graveyard with another zombie in play, will Vengeance trigger? Also, if I were to cast a creature from a graveyard with Havengul Lich would it also trigger Vengeance?

    Thanks?
