Wow I am very impressed with this thread. Originally I wasn't too hyped on Lasav since everyone was looking to do Vector Asp + Phyrexian Dreadnaught but I love the idea of Crackdown Consulate getting in for the win. Really like the idea of a Dimir Artifacts commander a lot.
Played another game today with a list similar to the the author's and it was pretty sweet. Flipping commit//memory is always fun and Lim-dul's Vault is insane in this deck.
I do like flipping extra turn cards for damage and seeing if I can win by not casting them at all.
Deck is fun but I'll probably replace another extra turn card with worst fears. I also placed in a Emrakul, the Promised End
I will probably keep playing this until the groans at the table become super loud lol. This deck is easily going to get kill on sight status I bet.
Agree with the chaining tutors into extra turns feels so good and so bad at the same time
While it was cool getting a yuriko trigger with other ninjas to flip an expropriate + temporal trespass for 20 dmg to each player (killing two players) and then casting those back to back, I don't know how much longer I'll keep the deck together since the game plan is simplistic and convoluted at the same time.
Basically every game is looking like Unblockable + tutor something to top of your library + yuriko trigger + dmg + extra turn + repeat which I don't know how it'll hold up over time.
Podcast Commander Time put together a sweet Doomsday combo that's a bit of a stretch to pull together but you get 5 unblockables + yuriko + doomsday + stack Draco and the Eldrazi Titans + swing + reveal those 5 cards and do 60+ dmg to each player.
Ha yeah that happens to me whenever I play my Nicol Bolas deck. It's great in 1v1 but everyone starts to freak out in multiplayer. I like the idea of swapping out torrential gearhulk for demon of dark schemes. I felt the deck would benefit from a better reanimation package since everything's getting blown up. Maybe add in a liliana, death's majesty and a vizier of many faces? In my last game I ended up with Etali, Primal Storm and torrential gearhulk in my hand for the majority of the game and the real work came from kill spells and building a late game board with the scarab god.
I do like having gonti, lord of luxury in this deck as a nice early game play and on the ground deterrence with deathtouch. Also if he gets blown up I believe you can still cast the spell which is always nice.
I love the idea of turning everyone's permanents into artifacts and then attaching everything to a creature to quadruple alpha strike one player. Hilarious. I've been wanting to brew a beat em' up artifacts deck that doesn't go infinite with Breya. I'm currently putting together a big robot deck with silas/bruce but I love the idea of the core combo in this deck.
I love this deck btw. I used to run a yidris deck with practically the same list. I am currently running a Kess, the dissident mage wheel deck with The Locust God thrown in for hijinks!
Definitely check out DementedKirby's take on Vial/Kydele.
I've been following your Reanimator since it was Tasigur and it has been fantastic resource. Can't wait to see where you take it next.
Highlights from the ninja deck before retiring it:
1. Watching people get upset and talking to the table about who was going to kill the Omnithopter.
2. Donking everyone for 9 off of Expropriate in the late game and then casting it and having the table scoop.
3. Elder deep fiend is awesome in the deck
4. Amonkhet/Hour of Devastation split spells also awesome.
Good luck to you all as you continue to pilot it. It was quite fun while it lasted
