    Thank you for the help.

The "X" spell gave me trouble because my brain was thinking "copy the spell" even though that's clearly not what's happening here at all.

I searched for an answer on this and did not find one.

I was wondering how Cast Through Time worked with damage "redirection" spells like Harm's Way and Divine Deflection.

With Cast Through Time in play, I would expect the first time I cast the redirection spell to work as normal. Then the spell gets Exiled.

My next upkeep would I beable to give a creature a damage prevention "shield", and then choose a target when the damage is dealt?

Or do I have to pick a target right way? If so, and that target is removed before damage is dealt, does the damage prevention go away?

    Or does something else happen?

    Thank you.

I've been campaigning for an "Urza's Dismembered Head" card for a long time now.

From a storyline point of view slivers on Ravnica could make sense.

Someone sets slivers loose on Ravnica. At first the Ravnicans struggle with the infestation, but then learn to fight back or control them. Then the eldrazi or Phyrexians show up and the Ravnicans are better prepared.

Either that or we could have a bunch of posh Ravnicans with domesticated slivers for pets.

In olden times, when I was a but a lad. I really wanted legendary cards for Ailis Connaut of Icatia and Marshall Volnikov of Vodalia, but this shall never be.

I would love to see planeswalkers cards of Serra, Freyalise, Urza, and Mishra*

*I am fully aware that Mishra was never a planeswalker, but if they bring him back, they can do wahtever they wanted, and he would have to be Urza's equal.

I'd be surprised if Maro wasn't actively pushing a card for Ral Zarrek as Red/Blue is his favorite combination.

That said, he'd have to get creative to find a space for him in the story. Have planeswalkers (other than Lorwyn) shown up without being part of the story?

We'll see planeswalker cards for Koira Atua (the merfolk girl) and Ral Zarek (the izzet guy) as cards first, and the second version of Sorin will be in the next set.

  • posted a message on Any reason(s) why we haven't seen dwarves in Magic lately?
    Quote from Pompejus
I always considered orcs more black than red, as they usualy are soldiers of the big bad (like Sauron) while goblins are more idependent.

It's been a while since I read Lord of the Rings, but I'm pretty sure Tolkien uses goblin and orc interchangeably. In the hobbit they were called goblins, and in Lord of the Rings mostly orcs, but certainly there was little difference between the goblins in the Hobbit and the orcs in Moria.

I made an orc deck long long ago and never bothered taking it apart. It's pretty awful.

I always thought that dwarves would best fit the artistic/creative side of red, rather than the anarchist side that goblins fill.

The way I see it, the difference between a red-dwarf weaponsmith and a white-human weaponsmith would be great.

The human would be working for a king or mayor who needed to arm his forces. A good white weaponsmith would spend his time churning out as many good quality weapons as he could. If he was a good quality smith, he might churn out twenty five to fifty good swords a year, or more of less quality if the army needed them. As long as they are sturdy and of good quality they would be fine. If a human weaponsmith churned out low quality goods, he would simply charge less for them, and shoe more horses to even out his costs.

A red Dwarven smith on the other hand would strive to be an artist of the highest degree. You'd be lucky to get one great sword or axe out of him in a year, but that one axe would be the finest axe he has ever made, and a much better weapon than the human smith would have created. If his goods didn't meet his own standards he wouldn't sell them at a discount. He would melt them down, and probably shave his beard in shame. If he lost the art and couldn't meet or exceed his highest expectations of quality he would not settle for being a "discount weaponsmith". He would hurl himself down the deepest mine shaft in shame.

They'd be as passionate and self involved as goblins, but in a more civilized way. They'd probably work best in a world where white is taken to the most evil fascist extreme, where good freedom loving and individualistic dwarves could provide a good opposition.

I'm pretty sure Sarkhan is in Dark Ascension, the winter set.

    I'm betting on this:

    Winter: Sarkhan, Koira

    Spring: Ral Zarrek, Avacyn

honestly, i'd like to have a word with Wizards Marketing.. they went about the product in entirely the wrong way. Planes should have been able to stand on their own, available in oversized boosters and with new releases every set... not bundled with rubbish decks as a 'one-off' and subsequently overpriced.

When planechase came out, one guy in our playgroup (the one with a bit deeper pockets) bought all 4 packs, but 80 bucks is a bit steep for a deck of 40 oversized cards. I don't think he ever did anything with the decks other than eventually sort them for extras.

If they had made just the plane cards available for about 40 bucks,we each definitely would have bought a set.

There's a thread in speculation that started with a rumor that an artis is working on art for Planechase 2.

If that's true, than the Ravnica 2 rumor probably started with an artist doing a location from Ravnica for that set.

Probably the same as having Ajani Goldmane and Ajani Vengeant out... they dismiss each other.

Legends don't work the same as planeswalkers. Planeswalkers use the type line. Legends use the card name. Rorix Bladewing and Bladewing the Risen do not cancel each other out, nor do Ashling the Pilgrim and Ashling, the Extinguisher.

how would a dual faced legend work? One player could play one side even if the other player had the second side in play.
