I hate doing this guys. I truly do, but if you keep ignoring me, I have no choice but to start this game. I am very sorry.

Still no word from Daftmouse or Froxy.

The Pre-Game has been reopened since it seems to be the popular option. Enjoy!

But I also do not want to start playing until all the WPL's for this RPG are in accord with one another, as I really don't want to anger or upset any of you one way or another.
I just want to say that I honestly don't like doing working without them. I think that if Daftmouse, Froxy, and I were to all discuss, share our ideas, and compromise, we could truly make the game the best it can be. I am not using this as an excuse to enforce my own agenda. It is just that, after being ignored for multiple days, this is what I have to do, especially when there are players like Cyouni and pet snake who want to start ASAP.

    I'm losing interest, fast.
I still intend on being an active player, but if I will be active on a dead game, even I have my limits.
I also do not want to start playing until all the WPL's for this RPG are in accord with one another
I'm also going to wait until all of the WPL's are ready to start the game before I start playing.
In my opinion, these comments speak for themselves. We have two types of players. One group wants the best game possible, and one group want to go as soon as possible. We need to start doing something to keep the first group, but we need to do it quickly (or, actually do it, for a start) to keep the second group. Now let's get working! Lets try to start a Pre-Game to make everyone happy(it's a quick start and people seem to want it). Is anyone there?

    Players of World of Pokemon,

Once again, I am acting without the consultation of Daftmouse or Froxy. I woud understand if that is confusing to you, so I must explain my reasoning. Neither Daftmouse nor Froxy have posted in public in a long time. Furthermore, they have not posted anything of substance in our secret WPL Discussion forum in almost two weeks. They claim that we are close to finishing, but honestly, there are very few things we have decided upon. I will not lie, this is entirely my fault. When I was elevated to a WPL, I saw a lot of the things that Daftmouse and Froxy were doing, and from my experience, I saw a lot of those thing as wrong for the game. I presented some logical arguments explaining my reasoning. I am not going to get into logistics, but they have refused to give many logical arguments, simply deciding to outvote me on everything. Right now, the only thing they are doing on this forum is deleting my posts and they are doing nothing to further the game.

A few days ago, I gave them a final warning. I said that in 24 hours I would start the game unless they started explaining their reasoning to me or proved to me that they actually care about the game. I had a busy end of the week (it was my birthday), but now I finally have some time. Honestly, I did not want to do this. The only reason I posted that was to try to convince them to do something, but they did not, and I have to show them that I will not back down. It is extremely likely that they will delete this post, and then continue to do nothing. However, I am dedicated to starting this game as soon as I can, so I will not give up.

I am starting the game using my ideas. Why? Well, Daftmouse and Froxy have yet to convince me that their rules were worthy of being in the game. All they have told me that it is part of their "superior system." I am not convinced so easily, especially when starting with a different, risky fresh start could lead to ANOTHER reset, which I will avoid at all costs.

I am going to start the game as soon as I get some response from you on the following question:

    Do you want a Pre-Game?

I like the idea of a Pre-Game. I think it is a fun way to get started and help develop one's character before they begin the game. Also, it give people a chance to get used to the new world (although my system is very very similar to Makorandy's, so don't expect many differences) and to my RPing style. Also, it buys me some time to work out all the kinks. Since I would not longer have to wait forever for a response from Daftmouse or Froxy, I would probably be done soon. However, I know you are anxious to start, so I am going to remain flexible and do what I think is important for a WPL to do: ask his players. So, please tell me if you want the Pre-Game (some time aboard the Livian Ferry before arriving at Livian Port) or if you want to jump right in. Thanks a lot.

If you have any questions, if you want more details, or if you don't feel like I explained myself thoroughly enough, please feel free to post here or PM me. Thank you so so much.

PS: Also, this is obviously a biased account. If you want to hear the other side, please, please, please PM Daftmouse and Froxy. Hopefully, they will post it here, but I bet this post will be gone in an hour...

Anyway, believe me when I say that we are very, very close to finishing this. We want the world 100% done when we start -- that means all the city threads, mechanics, all that stuff posted/worked out. We're not quite there yet, but soon, very soon... I do see where you're coming from, and I apologize for having it take this long.
Wow. If you honestly believe this is true, you are in for quite a surprise. This is a blatant lie in my opinion. What do we have done? Well, we have a traveling system. That is IT! We don't even have a name of our region because Daftmouse wants to change it for no apparent reason. Sure we have 9 cities, but don't we want more? Daftmouse himself said he wanted this game to have a significantly larger number of cities than in a normal game. A normal game probably has 15, so we are not sticking with 9. I refuse. Plus, in those cities, what do we have? We have some general ideas. Only 3/9 cities have at least single post in them. We haven't even finished a third of our established cities when we will probably end up with more than double what we have now. I am bringing in ideas which are mostly being ignored by you both when we desperately need some motion. Moreover, you both have barely been paying any attention to the game. Everytime I come online, I see at least on of you online, so you clearly have the time online, but neither have you have posted something of substance that has progressed the development of the game in this forum in over a week. We have made no progress since I showed up a while ago. This is a big commitment of time, especailly in this preliminary phase, and it is not going to get easier. When you add quests, and routes, and player questions, and player complaints on top of dealing with me and changes to the game, we are going to have to spend a large percentage of our free time on this website leading this game. Seeing that you both have gone many days with minimum posting and without an inactivity post or anything, I doubt you will be able to handle being WPLs. We have a lot of things to discuss, and the players are waiting patiently, for the most part. Immersa is our most active player, and (s)he just announced that (s)he was beinging to be annoyed by the wait. If we keep stalling, we will open a game to an empty audience, which will make all our work completly pointless. Plus, when we dont start in a week and they all discover that we weren't in fact very, very close to starting, they are going to get even more upset, so why set them up for dissappointment with this post? Lets actually start getting stuff done so that we can open this game. If it is going to take more than a week (which it will), we can open the Pre-game to give our players a chance to play/make it so they do not quit on us. This game is dead right now, so it is up to us to give it some life. Now lets talk share our ideas logically, compromise, and make a fantastic game!

Just so you know, in 24 hours, I am going to start the game. I do not care if you simply delete it, but I am going to start the game in my own image. I will start the game on my own UNLESS you both post in this subforum something relevant explaining your ideas about the game to me. So far, you have failed to do so, so I am going to assume that you agree with what I say since you have failed to back up everything you have said. So post. Prove to me that you actually care about this game.

    -Videojuegos

PS: Another thought came to me, which is the possibility that you both are planing the game without me, and then will simply outvote me. You both seem very passionate, so it is hard for me to imagine you all just giving up and not posting. Or, you are waiting for Nai to respond to the PM to kick me out. Well, if either of these are true, would you at least have the decency to tell me?

EDIT: I was not kiding about that, I've just been busy in RL. Next time I have a few hours this game is starting

Ok, my only remaining problem is that I still think that any more than two spells as a reward for a quest is way too much. If everyone starts getting three to four spells at level 3, there will be a massive power creep. I have no problem with the number of points, it simply can be divided too thinly, which would add an enormous boost to a satchel. Especially in a quest that give you so many other rewards, getting 3-4 spells is too much in my opinion.

You where just talking about how there needed to be something more about this than just flavor, well you get a HUGE reward as well isnt that good enough?
I referred to getting something more than flavor only if you are staying in one color. You get 4 "points" worth of spells if you do a yulin training, which gives you a second color (I think), so a second color and four common spells is a big reward for one quest, even if it did cost 75 gold. Even four common spells is too much of a reward when it doesn't come with an extra color.

Anyway, this is only my opinion, but I bet if you were to take any satchel, and give them 4 commons from their standard of their choice, their strength would improve drastically. Most quests only net one spell, or maybe two. Four is a lot. Especially if someone could tap into this resource as early as level 3.

Come on guys. We are trying to get a game started here. Lets finish these discussions so we can start it up before all our players are gone.

    I have some questions

    1. Since the shocklands are not legendary, can't there be more than one. I was always under the impression that there could be an unlimited amount of Watery Graves in the world. So, then the guilds would have easy access to a Watery Grave, but it is possible to find one elsewhere. This probably would not be true with Nivix and cycle.

    2. I remember at one point we had once stated that players who go Inner Circle of a guild would get access to Nivix and cycle. Obviously that does not apply anymore, but since those are the guildhouses, wouldn't it make sense that members of the guild (or at least inner circle members) could get that land? Also, unrelated to the game, but why aren't those lands legendary?

    3. Why stay in one color? I feel like players who stay in one color should be rewarded in some way other than flavor(as in how many "points" of spells they get). Otherwise, there is no benefit to staying in one color. Also, can you do a personal training and simply improve in your own color? If so, what would be the point of that?
(Note: "points" are used like the satchels: 1 for a common, 2 for an uncommon, 3 for a rare. Experience is before RP experience)
    4. The termonolgy you use for "points" is out of date if I recall correctly. Originally, there were "points" like you speak of to be used with starting satchels, and then there were "Satchel Points", which tell you how much space in your satchel each spell uses. "Points" was removed from the game because it was very confusing. If you look at the rules list under "Starting Characters" it was reworded a while ago.

    5. Also, you can get 4 points for something? That could be 4 common cards. Four whole spells for completing one quest is a HUGE reward. I think it might be better off as 4 points that can be used on a maximum of two spells. That way, you can only get two spells max, which is more fair.

Otherwise, looks great and well thought out to me

OOC: ErickC's character Roger is having a rematch against an old NPC of mine.

Upon entering the arena, a familiar monk walks up to Roger.

"So dark mage, have you learned you lesson?" he asked.

Really? I'm surprised you remember him. He is fun if nothing else.

Maybe if the WPLs like my character the will let me enter the tournament with him...:D

    Oh God, not that one.

I remember that. That was sick, wrong, and totally uncool...

...but if you'd care to pit Eli-whatsis against ShanaLynn, I wish you all the luck in the world. She's effectively level 7 with a nasty ability.
No. My gang of Planeswalkers (the TSI) got retired. Which was unfortunate because I had big plans for them, but the game seems to be doing all right. I am talking about my NPC by the name of "The Pacifist", who only had only appearance, an arena victory against Roger.

ErickC: If you want to go in the Community Cafe (since you seemed confident), I would go. I just need some time to recreate the satchel.

As an alternative, you could send it to a WPL that hasn't yet entered a NPC in that bracket and hope
It is not so much the satchel, it is the character, but the satchel is pretty kick ass.

And I'm sure he would love to go up against Roger and see if Roger has learned his lesson ;):p

Didn't Fenris control NPCs long after surrendering his title as WPL?

Also, if players can run quests, why can't they have NPCs?

I mean, that's ok. I just miss some of my old NPCs that I never really got to use.
