Obviously there are now many more options for players to explore without storm being everywhere in the format. Here is something I began thinking about with the spoiling of Satyr Hedonist .
The two drops are what make it tick, I absolutely love Spawning Breath as it is always online and kills many creatures while still letting you hit a 4 drop on turn 3. Great tempo.
I'd give Nest Invader a try, its still going to let you get Blastoderm on turn 3 and can actually attack.
I hate to say it but blinking Blastoderm is probably worse than simply removing blockers. RG would be a better way to go, and you could simply play Horned Kavu which is a 3/4 for 2 Mana as well as letting you cycle your Blastoderms again.
I posted the original list because Modern R/G Tron is my favorite Modern deck. I cannot, however, afford to build the deck on MTGO or paper. I borrow from a friend on the rare occasion I'm able to get out to my LGS. Building it cheaply for Pauper seemed like the next best thing. As I said in my initial post, I have limited knowledge of Pauper and most of my Pauper experience comes from playing Mono G Stompy almost purely in JFF.
I appreciate the insights and evaluations into my original list and R/G Pauper Tron in general. That does not, however, discourage me. I've always been the stubborn type and, for the time being, I'll keep trying. I'm a big enough man to admit when I'm wrong though so if and when that times comes, you can do a happy dance.
Any insights into how I can make this deck work, instead of every reason it can't, though those are valuable in their own way, would still be appreciated
the deck likely costs less than $40 to build either on paper or on MTGO. I'm sure you will get the cards you need eventually. GL!
I certainly would appreciate any constructive feedback on this deck. I love Tron but there are so many cards that can be used in Pauper, I'm sure I'm missing cards that can make this deck better.
-1 Crusher
-2 Maul Splicer
+3 Fierce Empath
Gives you more flexibility to find the exact fatty you are looking for and blocks very well.
Firebolt has been a card considered too slow in the past but would be great in this deck. I might try to find room for 3 or 4 if I could.
Well since you are using white you have access to the best removal spell in Pauper, Unmake. It plays at instant speed and removes the threat completely unlike some horrible cards such as Pacifism. You also have access to Oblivion Ring which wrecks both creatures, artifacts and enchantments until it gets removed. Then you also have Journey to Nowhere which does the same thing as the above but only creatures.
Also some information concerning Shield Sphere, that card isn't legal because it was never printed on paper as a common. It was only issued in MTGO as a common and as an uncommon in the paper format.
I go by oracle legality which places it a common from ME on MTGO. I like the bounce slightly better than the enchantments. Instant speed removal is very important because it keeps my counter magic online as much as possible.
I'd play journey to Knowwhere if I made a choice.
I am thinking I could also play Mindstone, but I feel like there should be more threats at 4 to be worth it. I am also not sure if Trinket Mage is the way to go, by switching it to Delver it might be better against the control decks. Its hard to tell.
Hindering Light would help stop Edict effects since they target you and it replaces itself. Probably not worth a slot in the main deck, but definitely worth consideration in the side board.
Since the banning I've had many ideas rolling around in my head one that I really want to delve deeper into is UW control. There are some very powerful interactions specifically Squadron Hawk + Brainstorm that I want to take advantage of. That and the access to some of the hardest to kill creatures in Pauper. Deft Duelist + Hands of binding is almost mini Frost Titan and should do great things for many matchups.
Reckless Charge, both Cohort and Conscripts count themselves the turns they come into play. So turn 1 onslaught, turn 2 cohort + charge is 5 damage. That is nothing to sneeze at.
I mean, porting from modern, you lose the board wipes and major fatties, but you gain crop rotation, and you still have Rolling Thunder and Ulamog's Crusher. Seems like it could be Fair?
fixed,
Looking forward to many archetypes I put on hold because they were too slow.
lets see MBC beat Tortured Existence. And now we have street Wraith + Golgari Brownscale Combo!
Agreed! A one mana pump that allows you to set up your next draw is great! I see this replacing Brute Force in those decks as a go to pump!
Its still much worse than Reckless charge because it allows the targeted creature to attack the same turn. for 3 mana kiln fiend will be swinging for 7, and flashback is awesome. on turn 4 you can play crusader and flashback charge to swing for 5.
Was thinking of hedonist and came up with a fun little brew:
4 Gruul Guildgate
6 Mountain
4 Festerhide Boar
3 Blastoderm
4 Kozilek's Predator
4 Nest Invader
4 Ulvenwald Bear
3 Satyr Hedonist
4 Brimstone Volley
4 Firebolt
3 Hunger of the Howlpack
4 Spawning Breath
The two drops are what make it tick, I absolutely love Spawning Breath as it is always online and kills many creatures while still letting you hit a 4 drop on turn 3. Great tempo.
Cheers,
H.G.

-4 Faerie Trickery +4 Vapor Snag
-2 Echoing Truth +2 Bonesplitter
-3 Island, -1 Echoing Truth +4 Delver of Secrets
With 8 cantrips you won't need more than 17 lands, you could even get away with 16 but that is very gutsy.
I think that will work better for you, tempo is more important than additional counters. and bonesplitter gives you a much better clock.

Cool idea, worth a SB slot for sure.
I do like these 4 drops:
The honor Guard in particular seems quite good in this format.
4 Squadron Hawk
4 Guardian of the Guildpact
4 Trinket Mage
4 Deft Duelist
1 Shield Sphere
//Spells: 19
4 Accumulated Knowlege
4 Mana Leak
4 Vapor Snag
4 Brainstorm
3 Hands of Binding
1 Relic of Progenitus
1 Bonesplitter
1 Viridian Longbow
//Lands: 21
2 Ancient Den
2 Azorius Chancery
2 Evolving Wilds
4 Terramorphic Expanse
6 Islands
3 Plains
2 Seat of Synod
Card advantage, tutoring, tempo, and hard to kill threats. the biggest questions I have are:
1: can I take advantage of the tempo long enough to finish the game
2: What is/are the best removal spells I have access to in UW.
I'd say something like this would be interested:
Not necessary, Electrickery takes care of the small swarms and big guys take care of the rest. I'd be tempted to try the Version that played Chromatic Sphere, Chromatic Star, Expedition Map and Fangren Maurader
Destroys affinity and most agro decks from the life gain.

Not sure about exact #s but it looks like a lot of fun. Spawning Breath seems awesome in this deck.
Something like this seems promising:
4 Crusader
add scry to cards that exist, make creature enchantments in every color.
sigh..
Crusader does say cast...how unfortunate. Should have read him closer.
AND
especially the second one. Already building a ground rift storm deck in pauper.
12 Mountains
4 Crusader
