The thing is, Wizards makes cards that are mistakes and no format is exempt from that. Including EDH. I'd rather have a few mistakes every now and then than to have nothing much at all. I say that for commander and all magic formats in general.
The client is pretty bad. If it's not in paper magic, why are they wasting time implementing it instead of refining the fundamentals?
You misunderstood my post. I meant that I wanted the actual rules of paper MtG to specify that revealed cards stay revealed, specifically so that time is not wasted writing down cards in events. Imagine every Legacy, Modern or Standard player in the world spending 30 seconds to jot down cards every time Thoughtseize, Inquisition of Kozilek or Gitaxian Probe is cast. That's a lot of time that could otherwise have been spent playing MtG.
i think in all of my years of playing magic i have spent more time waiting for some one to finish shuffling after using fetch lands then i ever have waiting for them to right down my hand after a thoughtseize. adding another zone just to save literally 30 seconds every couple of matches is way over board
has anyone tested psionic blast in the flex spots? i have had a few games where being able to point 4 damage at either a creature or someones face would have won me the game.
in a format with so much removal i really dont like prognostic sphinx. its a house in draft and when you attack and get that scry 3 its amazing but when a mono black player targets it and your option is to discard a card and not attack its a drag. also ooze feels forced to me i think it would be better to use that spot to round out the play sets of other things like stormbreath and maybe and another boon satyr cause that card is a huge problem for some of the top decks
Anger of the Gods does not help. Most of his guys have either a tougher body or a usefull option, like Fulminator Mage (sac -> effect). Path to Exile is your best plan here. If you have a slot in your board, try Hallowed Burial postboard.
In general, getting counters and counter the Living End (not the cascade spell!) is the best option. A very good shot is to use Remand against the Living End.
Postboard you must expect Ricochet Trap, so beware if he has 1 Red open.
The very best card against LE is to get a Rest in Peace, that completely hates him out. But this makes your deck very bad, since Snapcaster needs the graveyard. So try to get a Relic of Progenitus out as early as possible and try to remove a creature each turn. If he plays wisely, he cycles in reaction to your activation to keep value creatures in the yard. Keep one mana open, that you might be able to cleanup all graveyards. The worst they can do to you is chaincasting Fulminator Mages.
so im going to a modern event this Saturday at my lgs and i was wondering how to play against living end. is the plan basically just hold counter magic for living end and play anger if they ever resolve it ? it seems fairly straight forward but i haven't tested this deck against.
I'd take the Skyguard hoping to get solidly into heroic.
Can you explain to me why the wave is so good? Would you play it without any seamonsters? Would maybe work good when you are behind, i can see that. Not that good on a stalled bord.
Well it wrecks all heroic strategys your oppenents might be playing and resets monstrous triggers
Yeah, that's basically how we do it at the moment. But what if you need time to think about whether you'd want to play something at the end of your opponents main phase? IIRC you cannot ask for priority without also playing something? Also, if I ask for priority it becomes clear that I have something I might play.
Thanks!
If you need some time at the end of an opponents phase simply ask for them to wait look at your hand and take your time to make the decision. That is perfectly acceptable
And the best part? It can draw a supreme verdict all by itself. 3 Power is absolutely amazing on this card, they can't just sit there eating the hits waiting for another answer.
agreed it could pose problems for u/w now im just hoping that mono black is still prevalent enough to keep WW from being super popular.
the ordeals are pretty bad in constructed since they set you up for being two for one'd. i also dont like bred for the hunt in this deck you already have two bident of thassa which does the same thing with out having to have a counter and is a 4 drop which works better in your case because you have a high amount of three drop spells already. im also not a fan of one of's in lists that dont have a ridiculous amount of draw and the prime speaker and sapphire drake both seem kinda gimmicky and like they are win more.
so i would cut those 8 spells for sure to start replacing them i would recommend 2 more lands of some kind i didnt do a mana break down so i dont know which ones you need but 20 lands seems light. i would also up the amount of advent of the wurm to 4 because that card is just amazing vs control.
that would leave you 4 more spots to play with not sure what i would put in them right now. possibly a few jace AoT just because its awesome. elspeth is also a solid two of.
i like the list a lot my one question is the 3 captains to 4 sovereigns. is that due to not a having a 4th captain or do you actually like the sovereign better?
i think this is put perfectly

except that this can come down turn two which is at least 3 turns before casting a rev does anything
