You know, I find it very ironic that (around 15 years ago, time flies...) they created all the Mending story just to have a lore coherent way of printing Planeswalker as "lesser" beings, and we are now at the point where they have put on a card the most powerful of the old walkers without any lore justification...

    Eh, what?

The Urza card is an absolute flavor win, the use of meld to really join his mortal form AND the stones like in the story is probably the best representation we could wish for, the card is strong as you would expect from Urza, and, last but not least, we already got a ****load of oldwalkers in the previous products (Freyalise, Windgrace, Szat, Serra), including Jeska last year, who was, hands down, by her unique nature the second most powerful non-elder dragon walker ever, second only to Urza...all being said that they represent a facet of the oldwalker's power.

So what is the problem and irony now? Where is the "without any lore justification" - when being included in the best possible set and best possible card representation?

Nope, the "summoning" process of Urza is correct and very flavorful. What I meant is that the Mending was introduced in the lore as a way to finally be able to print PW cards... a lore justification that has now become not necessary anymore, since - as you said - they started printing oldwalkers cards without problems. The justification that what is on a card is 'just a facet' of their real power doesn't seem very convincing to me, more an 'excuse' to be able to printing oldwalkers cards... Something that, as Mullornis said, makes the Mending now unnecessarily to have PW cards.

I see a bias in your reconstruction when you speak of "errors" of Magic older lore. Instead, I even think that at least a bit of anti colonialism was inserted in the original novel, with the Sword Marches being an ancestral land of the Fallaji, called the Suwwadi Marches, and being invaded and conquered by the Yotian. Inserting difficult and controversial themes in a novel it's not an error, is something good writers are able to do.

So... did Mishra meld himself with a Dragon Engine in the novel or this is a new change brought by the set?! If I'm not mistaken, in the novel he was only compleated (or at least with a mechanical body).

And in the novel Hurkyl's was bald, but they decided to follow her appearance from the card... I would have liked having her as a bald woman.

I don't understand why Urza lose his black when he ascend, he still remains a pretty egoistic guy even when he is a planeswalker.

Regardin Kayla, I don't really like changing her skin tone: adding a new character is a thing, changing a lore relevant character another (I still don't think it's going to reflect on Jodah). If they wanted to be more inclusive, they could have just made her middle-eastern or something, since her name Bin-Kroog (albeit wrong) suggest an Arabic influence. And, by the way, what happened to her crown? She doesn't even look like a queen!

Yep, everything said it's correct. I'll just add that apparently Slivers didn't origin on Rath, but we don't know from where The First Sliver comes.

but Dina is right here? not sure why you think she’s missing

andnif your talking lore on her that’s in the links.

Dina is not missing in the set, she is missing on the card Whiterbloom Command. She is the only face student to have this treatment, all the others are on their respective command cards.

Probably I missed something (didn't follow the lore lately), but Tibalt wasn't put in prison or something by Chandra? How did he escape it? It's another one retcon like Garruk and Odric?
Nothing on Rat and Teyo? Weren't they supposed to be with Kaya?
And Valki... is he still chained up in the basement without anybody knowing it?! Poor guy...

    Many thanks Zombie Shakespear!

I know you'll probably hate me, but maybe do you have also numbers 20, 21, 23 and 24? There are some articles in there called Dominian Chronicles which shed some light on the Weatherlight saga... thanks

In all fairness, Wasitora's head does look pretty catlike in her own art. And in the Nine Lives art you can actually see her neck plates.

Looking better, I can see the plates, but a more centric vision on Wasitora would have cleared the confusion, I think. Also Arhabo should have been almost white, I think. But I get the artist' intent.

I see (probably) Marisi, Purraj, Jedit, Mirri, Kaheera, Khemba... the other two leonins? Jazal? Raksha?
